Pup To Go Carrier Contest
Horst Hoefinger

puptogo808

There’s a new dog carrier on the market, Pup To Go, which allows you to carry your dog with you. Seeing as our dogs all weigh over 60 lbs. I don’t foresee myself carrying them around anytime soon, but if you have a small pup it’s worth checking out.

Judging from the reactions of people walking on the sidewalks of Manhattan, the new Pup To Go carrier for small dogs is destined to be a huge hit. It is unique because it is a harness-style carrier allowing you to carry your small dog right in front of you, five feet off the ground.

People walking by are clearly intrigued and many stop to be introduced to Luke, an 8-year-old Shih Tzu and the inspiration for Pup To Go. His four little legs sticking out front and his tail hanging north to south is an attention getting visual, even for New Yorkers who’ve seen it all.

Bling Your Dog!
Lisa Hoefinger

I want to thank Sara for this next article. She’s a writer for the website Glitter Secrets and has been in the jewelry business for 20+ years.

Below she shares how you can customize any dog collar to make it special,  give it some BLING!  Her dog Ghost is the model for the blinged out collar, she’s stylin’, that’s for sure. Sara and her family reside in Croswell, Michigan.

Are you a dog lover? Are you in love with your dog?  If so, there is probably nothing you wouldn’t do for your furry friend, right?

Anyone that has ever had a dog and loved him (her) so much you’d do anything for her knows that not only do you love your dog, but you love to show her off.  Right?

As a dog lover, myself, I totally relate to the love, showing off aspect, of being a dog owner and a dog lover.  Recently, I watched a dog show on television.  I watched as the handlers, not the owners, caressed and flat out showed their love for their amazing animals.  I couldn’t believe how much love was expressed between each and every handler and the amazing canine.  The handler would command; the dog would obey.  And yet, something seemed to be missing.  After awhile of complete thought and pondering, I think I figured it out.

Every champion dog in that ring, although totally more than an ordinary species, lacked something in appeal.  Sure, to know the dog was a champion in its own right because it stood at perfect attention in the center ring really was not enough.  Something was missing.  Bling!!  That’s what was missing.  Dog Bling!!

Every dog is a champion in its own right whether standing center stage or standing in your own backyard.

Think about it.  Here you are in your own backyard with your champion pooch.  You decide to take her for a walk through town.  What do you need?  You need her collar/license and leash.  Hmmm!!  Yes, of course.  But she is also a champion in your heart and you want to show her off.  So what do you do?  You put on her Dog Bling hand made by YOU!

Toys, Toys, Toys Contest
Horst Hoefinger

To help Dogsters celebrate National Dog Day we’re giving away toys, toys, and more toys.  Thanks to the generosity of Dogtronics , the makers of interactive dog toys which bring the magic of battery-operated light, sound and motion features to your dog’s toy box.

Our dogs have a few Dogtronics toys and they do enjoy them. We sent Rowdy Raccoon to our doggie nephew A.J. and he carries it everywhere, even to bed. The light toys twinkle, flash, and blink. The sound toys hoot, howl, and quack. And, the motion toys bumble, tumble, and wiggle.

Your dog’s favorite types of toys – plush, rubber, nylon, rope and balls – come alive with a symphony of sights and sounds that dogs just can’t resist and you’ll love too. Whether it’s an unexpected flash of light, a curious jittery motion or a realistic animal call, Dogtronics toys are naturally exciting to dogs, giving them an instinctual incentive to play longer – and more often.

Device For Guide Dogs
Horst Hoefinger

There is an amazing device that helps guide dogs guide the blind. You’ve got to check out the Peepo GPS Device, technology at its best.

Guide Dogs for the blind folks generally come trained for taking them around the neighborhood and maybe an extra distance. This surely curtails mobility and independence in case they want to explore more than their usual territory. The Peepo GPS Device gives these people a certain degree of freedom to travel beyond the normal route. The GPS system charts the course and guides the dog to the desired destination using a series of vibrations to steer him.

If you can’t see the video click here.

The two-part device comprises of a handheld GPS unit, which uses vocal commands to register the destination and map it. The second attaches to the guide dog’s handle and gives subtle directions via vibration zones; L= Left, R= Right, F= Forward and up on arriving the destination, the zones simultaneously vibrate.

The biggest USP of this device is that it has a touch “return home same way function”, which is quite reassuring.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA–(Marketwire – June 30, 2009) – Trixie, bestselling author Dean Koontz’s beloved golden retriever, was more than a dog — she was an inspiration. And like all good inspirations, they are best when shared. To celebrate Trixie’s life, legacy and magic, a new line of pet products has been created to inspire all that is loved by pets and their owners while doing good for service dogs. The line Good Dog: Trixie KoontzTM will launch July 1, 2009 in PetSmart stores.

Dean commented, “Trixie was not only a wonderful dog and an endlessly amusing companion. She was also an inspiration who changed my life. I delight in watching her little empire grow, knowing that every dime she earns is going to pay the catastrophic veterinary bills of the canine companions of people with severe disabilities and to provide assistance dogs for those who need them. My little dog is throwing a long shadow.”

Available items celebrate Trixie’s wit and wisdom and include:

* Butterfly toys, plush bones, disks and rope tugs to play with dogs.

* “Bliss You” and “Laugh ’til Your Face Hurts” tanks for a carefree style.

* Stationery and specialty gifts such as coffee mugs, photo frames, key chains, journals and pens.

A big kudos to Dean and Trixie Koontz for their generosity, thanks to them CCI will be able to provide even more service dogs to help those with disabilities.
