Welcome to the world of Deborah Carmen, artist of the cutest dog pottery you could ever hope to find. It’s a whimsical world that captures the essence of doggy antics, creating a long lasting memory for you to have in your home.

Debby Carmen is an imagineer. She is a Laguna Beach, California artist, author, cartoonist and fabulist who dreamily draws, paints, sculpts, whimsical cats, dogs, and other creations of the animal kingdom. She chronicles random notions, furry motions and life’s nutty nuances depicting fun and farce, frolic and foible in her distinctively recognizable style and expressively vibrant color palettes.

Debby is noted for the MOST BEAUTIFUL hand crafted porcelain ceramic dog and cat bowls and treat jars on the planet; one of the few people in the world creating custom and uniquely distinctive pet bowls and collectibles for her clients furry fourleggers.  Debby is recognized by numerous elite breed dog clubs throughout the country as their national specialty artist.

Debby was recently commissioned by 20th Century Fox to make several hundred dog bowls for the premiere of Marley & Me. She’s also the trophy artist for many national breed dog specialty shows, i.e, Westie, Corgi, French Bulldog, Maltese, Shih Tzu, King Charles, Bulldog, Affenpincer, Brussels Griffon, Welch Terrier, Wheaten Terrier to name just a few.  Pretty impressive resume!

As if all this wasn’t enough, Debby has an adorable line of books for children. They’re fun books that help teach some valuable lessons.

KITTYWUMPUSS: A wonderful, self-esteem building, inspirational story about participation. This story shares the importance that winning begins when you show up and become part of the team and the value of fellowship and sharing among friends.

GRONK: A story about a playful and pleasing little dog who places fun in front of the obeying the rules. The lesson Gronk learns is about the consequences of not following instructions.  Little things that can turn you green!

CHEWDALOOTIE: A story about the responsibility we all have to the things we value and cherish. Chewdalootie shows us the importance of caring for a pet once you accept the responsibility of ownership. Love is a commitment of giving and receiving.

For  Debby’s latest book she collaborated with lawyer Kimberly Adams Colgate  on a subject that’s important to all of us here at Dogster,  pet trusts. The Pet Plan and Pet Trust Guide combines whimsical illustrations with practical need to know information. It’s a “how to” legal plan for your pet’s future security incorporating the newest and latest laws to secure your pets future well being.

If you’re interested in the book we have a terrific offer for Dogsters,  25% discount off list price (list is $28.99) on pre-orders.  The book will begin shipping  April 15th, so be sure to take advantage of the discount by getting your order in early.

DogPause Dog Bowl Giveaway!
Horst Hoefinger

Is your pal a chow hound, gulping down food without swallowing?  If the answer is yes, you’ll want to know all about a great new product.  DogPause,  a bowl designed to help slow dogs down when they eat.  The best part…we’re giving away twenty bowls!  All you need to do to enter is leave a comment on why you would like to win a DogPause bowl, twenty  lucky winners will be selected at random.  Now there’s something to bark about.

Introducing DogPause, the first dog bowl with proprietary SlowZonesTM and integrated portion control.
You know how you feel when you eat too fast (or eat too much). Same thing with your dog — it’s not healthy for him or her to inhale the food.

We experienced a recent episode with Logan, our Bernese Mountain dog.   He scarfed down a bowl of food and started showing symptoms of what we thought were the early signs of bloat.  Luckily, it ended up being “the gulps”, but now we now realize the importance of slowing down his eating time.

DogPause is the only dog bowl clinically proven to slow down dogs’ eating. In clinical tests run by professional vets, DogPause slowed down dogs by an average of 50% vs. standard dog bowls. As vets will confirm, a slower eating dog is a happier, healthier dog with less risk of experiencing (or doing) all sorts of yucky things like vomiting, gas, belching, gagging, life-threatening bloat, etc. Which makes life better for you and your dog…

So get those paws typing because the contest starts today and ends July 31st.
