Win A Portrait Of Your Pup Contest
Lisa Hoefinger

page20-1015-fullOne of our favorite artists, Kathryn Beals, is back and offering up another of her gorgeous portraits for a Dogster contest. We had a contest with Kathryn back in April and had over 126 entries!

Along with painting, Kathryn has been very busy working on her website and blog since the last contest. You can go to her How I Paint blog and watch her while she painted Dogster member Jolanda, a page20-1003-fullvery talented service dog. She even has an entire section just of the Dogster dogs she painted, they’re great, go check them out.

The amazing thing about Kathryn is that she’s self taught. Her portraits are a great gift to give yourself or one of your dog loving friends. It’s also a wonderful way to memorialize your dog, something special you’ll have long after your best friend is gone.

One of the best things about Kathryn’s work is that she guarantees it. If for any reason you are not happy you can get your money back. How many artists offer that deal? I can tell you, not many.

We’re offering up a free 16″ x 20″ head-shot portrait. Read the rest of this entry »

A Portrait Of Mollie
Horst Hoefinger

I’m sure all the Dogsters who read the blog regularly will remember our ‘Win A Painted Portrait‘ contest we had in April. Artist Kathryn Beals generously offered to paint a portrait for one lucky Dogster . We had a ton of entries but in the end Mollie was chosen as the winner.

Kathryn is an amazing artist and she’s painted quite a few portraits for Dogster members.

Pictured above is Mollie’s finished portrait and on the left is the picture the portrait was modeled after. I told you Kathryn is amazing.  On her How I Paint blog you can follow along the painting process from beginning to end.

Kathryn has just added a new feature, video. For the first time she filmed the painting from start to finish.  She sped up the footage into an 8 minute “speed painting.” Check it out!

I want to thank Kathryn again for providing Dogsters a chance to win one of her gorgeous custom paintings. For all those who entered and didn’t win, keep an eye out because there just might be another chance come fall.

Win A Portrait Contest Ends Tonight
Horst Hoefinger

The portrait contest was extended due to technical difficulties when trying to leave a comment so you have until tonight midnight (PST) to enter.

In December I did a post on artist Kathryn Beals who painted Dogster member Sabrina’s portrait. The painting came out great, I was really impressed.  As it turns out, Sabrina is just one of many Dogster members she has painted.

Kathryn recently contacted me with an offer I couldn’t refuse, a chance for a Dogster member to win a head portrait of their dog.

Go to the original post for all the details and to enter.

Win A Painted Portrait Update
Horst Hoefinger

On Monday I put up the post Win A Painted Portrait Of Your Dog, some Dogsters have been experiencing issues when trying to leave a comment to enter.  For whatever reason members using Internet Explorer are not able to post a comment, rest assured HQ is working to get this corrected.

To give every pup a chance I’m going to extend the contest until Friday, May 1st. If you want to enter to win the 14 x18 portrait, valued at $300, please do so on the original post.  Just click on the blue link.

Also, the winner will be chosen by us not Kathryn, I know some people mistakenly emailed her thinking she was going to pick. Her email is for anyone who wants to order and get $50 off their purchase, or if you have any general questions about her paintings.

Good luck!

The winner’s portrait progress will be featured on Kathryn’s How I Paint blog. It’s a really cool site where you can follow the progress of her latest, and greatest, paintings. It’s so interesting to see how she takes an image from a photograph and turns it into an amazing painting.

To enter just leave a comment in the comment section sharing why your pup is picture perfect.  Just the fact that your dog is adorable is reason enough. The contest runs today through Monday, April 27th when I will choose one lucky winner.
