My dog, Bizzy, has a knack for making me laugh on a daily basis. He’s amusing awake or asleep so this week’s photo comes courtesy of The Biz on a recent afternoon after a long came of catch. He actually sleeps like this all the time and this is indeed what I see every morning when I wake up.

Irish eyes–or at least Irish puns–were smiling this week for the good ole caption contest. Folks brought out the wordplay artillary in a big way but the winner of the pot of Zealies was Peanutty, paws down with their witty take on Bizzy the Leprachaun. Congrats, Peanutty.

Life is really good when there’s an occasion to dress up your dog in a silly costume. What better time to do this than St Patrick’s Day. My model, Bizzy, actually likes wearing clothes so this wasn’t too much of a stretch for him–except maybe for the hat. (see more of his St Paddy’s shoot)
So, Dogsters, hoist a green beer and come up with a good thought-bubble caption for this little leprechaun by next Monday, March 23rd and you could win 50 Zealies.

The subject of last week’s photo may have been sleeping but Dogster caption contestants certainly weren’t
when they entered over 120 captions for the 50 Zealie prize. In the end,though, Marlina hit the just the right dreamy tone with her contribution and is this week’s winner. Congrats!

Sometimes it takes a few passes through the entries to pick a winner. Other times you hit a quote that’s so spot on and appropriate that you just know it’s the one right off the bat. That’s what happened this week with the winning quote from Sugar. I honestly can’t imagine a better fit. Sugar, my hat as well as Bizzy’s and the Jizo’s are off to you in comic awe. Very, very well done.

Many of you longtime caption contest participants will recognize this week’s subject and setting — I used them both before back in August. However, this time there’s a decidedly more seasonal approach to the costumes and participants. So go to it, Dogsters. Let loose with your holiday best captions and put some words in the Biz’s mouth.
The winner will receive a Christmas bonus of 50 Zealies to be announced next Monday, December 29th. Until then, everyone have a happy holiday.

Sometimes a good dose of potty humor is just what the doctor ordered and this week a contestant named Roman came up with the prescription for victory. This week I’m throwing my dog, Bizzy, into the mix. The Biz is a feisty little Corgi-Jack Russell mix (apparently they now market them as a so-called designer breed known as a CoJack). Well, The Biz is a decidedly non-designer dog who’s pretty much only interested in playing ball or hanging out in his back yard. This shot was actually taken in that yard with him next to a little Jizo statue from Japan.
