PLEASE CROSSPOST!!!
Joe barked in to ask for support in court when his son’s dogs’ alleged murderer goes to trial on Monday, March 31st. If you’re in that area and can get away he, and his son’s murdered furbabies, would appreciate your presence.
Please be advised that this is a hard story to report, much less read. There are some very upsetting points in this story.
Here’s the story from Joe:
Last year, Joe’s son, whom I’ll call young Joe, was nice enough to let his friend Christopher Anzalone and his friend’s pregnant girlfriend Kristine move in with him when they faced financial difficulties. His repayment? Kristine became jealous of young Joe and Chistopher’s friendship and tried to poison young Joe by putting Visine in his iced tea. Oddly enough, this form of poison actually CAN work and young Joe became sick. Fortunately, young Joe survived but his two canine furbabies, a chihuahua and a pit bull did not.

What do you do if you’re the mayor of Randolph, Iowa and you want to cut decrease the numbers of stray cats and dogs. You take a page from history and enact a bounty of them. Why use more modern (and sensible) tactics when its so easy to do something so 18th Century?
How many ways is this wrong? Let’s start with unscrupulous adults and children kidnapping dogs and cats to make money.
Here’s the mayor’s own newsletter openly admitting his retro tactics.

Here are the most recent updates from Bill Whiting on the Edna murder case.
Victor Rodriguez was just convicted on four misdemeanors.
DA, Heidi Grogan appeared in front of Philadelphia juvenile court Judge Docherty. A wise decision on Ms Grogan’s part led to not to pursuing the felonies, as she had a card up her sleeve. Seems, young Rodriguez also had an outstanding warrant for auto theft. He was tried this morning for car theft, and was an adjudicated juvenile delinquent just moments before entering the Edna hearing. He will be sentenced on March 31st. He remains in custody.
And here is some additional information also from Bill Whiting, Edna’s furdad.

Is this a new form of Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) hysteria? As far as I can tell, these dogs have never threatened anyone or anything. The worst anyone can say is that maybe the rabies vaccine doesn’t work but there’s no evidence either way according to the vet on the video.

Just when you think humans can’t get any more vindictive, some judge does this… The court may be able to order DDB to remove info on Doogie but there’s a whole lot of us out here that aren’t under that order and I don’t think any of OUR reports on Doogie and DDB are going to be disappearing any time soon.
Thanks to Donna B. and Gizmo the Great for barking in this news from the DDb site.
2/22/08. Today Grimes was sentenced to 300 hours community service for a ‘people organization’, because ‘people are dogs too’. She was also ordered to pay for the cost of the trial. This was justified by the judge because she said that Grimes chose to go to trial over ARD, therefore she should have to pay for it. Isn’t it every person’s right to go to trial? Does that right come with a price tag? Interestingly enough, according to Grimes’ attorneys, this is not only NOT OFTEN done, but RARELY done. The costs were around $1700.
