
Cormac: The Tale of a Dog Gone Missing is every dog guardians’ nightmare. A beloved family member, Cormac, goes missing and the trail leads to the local animal shelter. That should be the end of the story but the shelter workers deny ever having seen Cormac.
I won’t give any more away except to tell you that the hunt for Cormac leads Brewer far beyond his southern Alabama home.

Another Day, Another Dog by Trevor Rowe is a gentle memoir. Imagine you wander into a small English village, find the ancient, inviting pub and open the door to a cool, quiet inner sanctum of a room. You notice an interesting older man sitting in the corner with a few friends. As you listen (you aren’t really eavesdropping because the room is small enough and there aren’t too many people here now that you can easily hear the Englishman’s monologue) you catch yourself being drawn into his stories.

We as humans almost seem to revel in our complexity yet as authors Andrea Hurst and Beth Wilson show, sometimes life is better understood through simplicity. Hurst and Wilson help us see through the eyes of our oftentimes wiser canine friends.

Author Julia Szabo has written a book that absolutely, positively should be on every mutt-lover’s shelf! Make that every dog lover’s shelf! This is a wonderful, fun, informative read that keeps drawing you in for more! Marvelously writtten and seductively illustrated, I couldn’t read it for just a few minutes. Instead, I kept getting swept in through chapter after chapter of little-known facts about mutts, revealing celebrity admissions of mutt love and mutt mix information.
