They need to fill their quota for reservations at the KOA campground in order to get the use of the Rec Hall and the large picnic areas for the meet and greet. The deadline is December 1st, so we’re trying to get the word out.

Always wanted to meet your friends and visit HQ to meet the folks behind this great web site at the same time? You’re invited to the Dogster/Catster Meet And Greet In California and picnic in San Francisco/Petaluma area Saturday, April 24th 2010! Join the group fur more information, pawticipate in the planning, and prepare yourself fur the Meet and Greet of the Year! Don’t furget to book your reservations early at the KOA campsite if you’re planning to stay overnight and be sure to mention it’s for the D/C MAGIC Group when you do.

We have reserved a few sites at the KOA Campground in Petaluma for our event, click here for site map.

The reservations are for April 23 and 24 for those of us who will be arriving the night before.

For those of you just coming for the day of the picnic and will not be staying the night at the campground, there is a KOA guest fee of $10 (sorry, I know it was $7 but KOA went up on all their prices for 2010) for adults, $5 kids 4-17. Kids 3 and under are free.

This is what we have reserved right now. We can add to or subtract from this list as needed before September ‘09;

17 cabins in block “G”. Each sleeps up to 4 (dogs are allowed) and is $59 per night. The cabins do not have a bathroom but there are some nearby. If you were to share the cabin with a friend that would just be $28.50 (killer deal!)

The cabins have a dbl bed and bunk beds but do not come with bedding (blankets etc)

2 lodges- sleeps 4-6 each has a bathroom but does not allow pets- $160 each

8 full hook up RV sites- $42

10 tent sites- $30 (personally, mom would rather pay twice as much and sleep in a cabin! laugh out loud )

We also will have exclusive use of the Rec Hall and large tent as well as the areas called the “Grove” and “Orchard” for our contests and games.

To reserve a cabin, lodge or other site please call KOA @ (800) 562-1233 and be sure to mention it is for the D/C MAGIC group April 23 and 24.

Please post here which accommodation you will be choosing.

If we get fewer than 10 reservations we will lose the use of the Rec Hall and possibly the tent also.

You could hold off calling KOA and putting the charge on your credit card for a few months but please post here asap so we can tell them how many we expect to reserve.

We have until September before they will stop holding all of these reserved sites for us and all reservations must be paid for by December 1 2009

We hope many of you will be staying a night and help us to turn the KOA Campground into “Dogster/Catster town” for a few days!

What a great idea, thanks to all the Dogsters who put in the time and effort to pull this event together. It’s pups like you that make Dogster such a fun and enjoyable place to be.

Our very own Dogster member Pugsly, is a semi-finalist in the First Annual Worldwide Fido Awards, premiering Oct. 5th on Nick at Nite.

A blues-singing beagle, a bull dog who can skateboard and flush the toilet on command and a Jack Russell terrier who can jump rope and walk up steps backward are among the semifinalists as the final round of voting begins for the top six pups who will compete for the champion title on the First Annual Worldwide Fido Awards, airing in primetime, Sunday, Oct. 5, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick at Nite.

The one-hour special event hosted by actor/comedian Fred Willard (Best in Show) will showcase the six Fido finalists and best of WorldwideFido.com’s user-generated videos, where one lucky dog will ultimately be crowned the 2008 Worldwide Fido winner.

Fans can vote now on www.worldwidefido.com to determine the finalist in each of the six categories, including “Cutest Dog,” “Best Dressed,” “Best Voice,” “Most Outrageous,” “Best Trick” and “Dog/Owner Look-Alike.”

Pugsly is entered in the “Best Voice” competition for singing I Love You.  In order for him to get on Nick at Nite he needs to make it into the finals.  Take a look at his video and then put your big, or small, paw on the vote button. You have to vote on the actual Fido site.

The group, Dog Park USA, is giving Dogster’s a chance to meet face to fur with their 2nd annual Meet In The Real Fur event. The event happens on September 20th,  be sure to mark it in your calendar so you don’t forget.

Calling all New Yorkers and close by states. The Dog Park USA is holding there 2nd annual Meet In The Real Fur at Madison Square Park again. The event will be hosted by some of the park administrators. Come meet Royal Bentely Deeogee, Mia and Gibbon some of the few who make the DPUSA run so smoothy.

The AKC will again be holding there Canine Good Citizen event and testing.

Admission is FREE. The AKC will be giving free give-a ways. Meet over 50 AKC breeds, Talk to there breeders and, get training tips. The AKC will be having obedience trials and contest and, prizes will take place all day long . There will be a booth to ask a vet any questions you may have. There will be a DISCOUNTED MICROCHIPPING booth also.

Dogsters are wonderful! I am constantly amazed at how much they care about and help each other. This is one of those many times when I am honored to be a Dogster.

DEAR PAWTASTIC FRIENDS AT DOGSTER:
My furless sister had a baby this past sat past,and well there was complications and we almost lost her and baby steven. All of dogster surrounded around us and loved us and held us thru paw mails and in all the threads a group rbab group grins and giggles group, poodleville unerversity group and So many others. For days we lit candles and prayed hundreds from all points of the world. You made that possible.

I am proud to say Jennifer is going home soon with her 4 day old son Steven and it will be the most wonderful mother day a grandma or grandpa could ever have. Please will you do me a favor? I want to collect all the threads that were posted for Jennifer and baby Steven. Also I used Jen and baby Steven in the threads. This would mean the world to me to show her how much she was loved and prayed for from around the globe.

POWER OF THE PAW !!. Also is there anyway you can thank ALL THESE AND MORE groups for their love and prayers? Please… i know your busy but lets show them how powerful their love is and it is the love that is ingrained in Dogster. It is what made dogster what it iswhat it was created for. Dogster put paws together around a lil girl they never met and a brand new life that both almost did not make it.

Lucky and Nala’s Mom barked this terrible report in to Dog Park and Pawty Playground Place Group today. I haven’t heard anything this product but if you have, please bark in.

hi everyone i have not had time to log into the group but since it has been a EXTRA long night for me… i wanted to share with all of you dog and cat lovers what took place for me last night….i have not slept in 24 hours…

what i thought would be a normal trip to walmart… became a night mare…

to make the long story short… i had to wait on my order of REVOLUTION for Lucky and Nala… so since i live in a area that has many fleas and ticks outside… i decided to buy them something in walmart just in the meanwhile…

it was the 1st time i ever tried it…. BUT NEVER AGAIN….

i bought them SERGEANTS GOLD for small dogs (9-20 lbs) and both my poms are like 14lbs

so anyway i gave them the flea medication at midnight when i got back from the store… 2 hours later.. they are both walking around my bedroom like 2 crazy dogs… and they kept on licking their nose, drooling &… NEXT i noticed they were both FOAMING at the mouth!

NATURALLY i freaked out…. and called Emergency VET… they told me to bathe them with dishwashing liquid (so i did twice)…. BECAUSE my DOGS HAVE BEEN POISONED…. and they TOLD me that they’ve had some FATALITIES with that medication….

well with the whole bath thing… and since i got them to drink water, and take some honey… and they stopped foaming…. i called the vet back and they said to just let them go to sleep for now because they seem to be fine for now… unless they start having seizures…

so they are both resting… they just get up to go to the pee pee pad , and go back to sleep… i tried to make them eat but they only ate a little… the vet said that’s normal since this just happen hours ago….

I PRAY that all will be well and tomorrow this will be forgotten about for both Lucky and Nala

so PLEASE if you are considering buying this product …. DON’T ….. it may harm your pet

Of course Dogster and Catster are the MOST fun on the web! But what makes Dogster the MOST fun is having members who come up with the BEST ideas for fun. Take the Dog’s Fun Forum for example.

The group’s motto is “Where being bored is not a choice.” And I have no idea how anydog could be bored with this group around! Admins Roscoe, The Cali Crew, Bambi, Peanutty, Sugar, and Luckee must spend 20 hours a day thinking up fun things to do and games to play. They have Zealie Ball, photo contests and generally fun games. So if you are looking for a hot new Dogster group, check out the fun-loving dogs over at the Dog’s Fun Forum!

If you and your furbaby want to stand up against BSL around the world, then join your fellow Dogsters in the Million Dog March.

You just can’t stop Dogsters from doing good! Dogster Reesee barked in to invite everypup and kitten to join in the Do Good Doggy Day this month. Note, please post your entries at PawSpot.

Hello! Doesn’t every dog and cat deserve a good home? Doesn’t every dog and cat deserve to be warm? Doesn’t every dog and cat deserve to be fed? The answer to all of these questions is YES! With the wonderful idea of Vesuvius Lucy, PawSpot is holding a Do GOOD Doggy Day. During the month of February, everyfur can help out to make shelters a better place for doggies and kitties around the country.

Each member will pick something nice to do for a shelter near you. When you do something good post here. At the end of February we will tally up all the money raised for shelters and will have a pawty. To make all of this more fun, there will be a contest. Who ever can do the most to help out a near by shelter, will win a secret prize and get a Do GOOD Doggy Day picture!

Here are a few suggestions to help out:
-Volunteer to help walk, play, or help out at a shelter
-Recycle bottles and cans and then donate the proceeds to a shelter
-Donate hand made blankets or buy one for a doggy at a shelter to keep them warm and cuddly.
-Donate money
-Host a fundraiser
-Adopt or foster an animal in need
-Write letters and thank you notes to shelters encouraging them and thanking them for helping animals everywhere!

These are just a few things you can do to help out! If you can think of anymore than please go ahead with them. Every time you help during the month of February, post here (And the amount of money if it was any type of fundraiser or donation) so you can qualify to be in the contest. If you have any questions please ask. Lets all try to help out and give some doggies and kitties HELP! GOOD LUCK! And THANK YOU!
