Badly Abused Boxer Needs Donations

Horst Hoefinger

KY18.15158326-1-pnOne of the things that has meant the most to me while working on this blog has been being able to reach out to a large audience when there is a dog in need. We have helped many dogs get a new forever home and raised much needed money for their medical care.

I received a message about Adonis, a boxer, who was found in a backyard with a horrible head injury. The wound was so bad that I chose not to post it on the blog. Be warned, when you click to his Petfinder.com page it is on there.

Words can hardly express the sorrow we feel for this boxer. Animal control was called out to his owner’s house where they found him chained in the back yard with extensive injuries. They quickly seized the dog and brought him to our shelter, where we rushed him to the veterinarian for emergency treatment.

To our amazement when we received the dog he was wagging his tail, he had to have known help had finally arrived. He is currently at the vets office undergoing treatments and xray’s to determine the amount and extent of his injuries. It is not yet known what exactly happened to him.

If you can help him by donating money towards his vet bills it would be greatly appreciated. Also, say a prayer for him, and we will update this when we have more information about his injuries.

A medical fund with a goal of $5,000 has been setup for this beautiful boy, so far $4,324 has been raised.  After reading what happened to Adonis and seeing the horrific injury he suffered I went right over to the donate page to donate a few dollars to help them get to the $5,000 mark.  If you go to his Petfinder page you can donate via Paypal, it only takes a minute. Or you can mail a check to the:

BGWC Humane Society

Attention: Adonis

PO Box 1456

Bowling Green, KY 42102.

If you can give a few dollars to help Adonis out that would be wonderful, if not, just keep him in your thoughts.  We need to get him healed so he’ll be well enough to go to the loving forever home he deserves.  Please post and crosspost this message.

My heart breaks for Adonis. He is a beautiful pup with a great big heart. I’ve gone to petfinder and made a donation for his care. Thank for helping those who cannot speak for themselves.

  2. Tipper

This brings tears to my eyes. I am beyond words with emotions that include anger, sadness, disbelief, and horror. I’m restraining myself in not saying everything that comes to my mind when I see those pictures. I just can’t imagine the fear that poor Adonis felt when his injury was incurred. My heart just breaks for these animals.

  3. Stacey

I just donated money for Adonis’s care, I cried when I saw those pictures. How can people be so cruel. I hope he finds the loving home he deserves once he is healed.

  4. Nero and Homer

I looked up petfinder to chip in and could not bear to look at the poor animal. I wanted to scream, instead I just cried. I made my donation and pray he recovers from his injuries. I hope this crime gets punished.

  5. Daisy

Oh my goodness my heart breaks for this pup and all who have to be with idiots who abuse.
Off to help out now. I hope everyone remembers that even a couple of bucks are better then nothing at all. And there are lots of Dogsters here who have been on the receiving end of kindness from cancer surgery help, heart surgery help, and ours which was back surgery help. So I hope everyone will remember that giving kindness is jsut as important as getting it.
    Hugs~

  6. Darbi

We are beyond words when you think of the sadistic monster that would do such a thing.

What is so sad is that there are more pups out there, being abused and left in their pain.

Bless you all for taking this sweetheart into care.

We too will leave a donation for him, and if we had one wish for the holiday season, it would be that there is no more abuse – just no more abuse.

  7. Pogo

Oh my God. I would like just half an hour alone with the pond scum who did this to Adonis. Look how thin he is too. We can’t afford to donate right now (although according to his Petfinder page, the $5000 has been reached, which is brilliant), so we’ll hold him up in prayer and love.

  8. Maxxie

Pogo…you wouldn’t be alone with the pond scum ‘cuz I’d be right there next to you.

  9. Precious

I’m right with you Maxxie and Pogo! He is more then pond scum to say the least! Me and mom are happy that Adonis has reach the $5000 mark. Me and my family will keep him in ours prayers.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww poor baby all he ever wanted was someone to love him. My mom won’t go look at the pictures ’cause she will cry if she does.

  10. Phoebe Buffay

We cannot believe how any human can be so cruel to have let this happen or done it themselves!!!!
It completely disgusts and angers us.
Whoever is responsible for such a horrible crime, will at some point, pay.

~Our heart goes out to Adonis.
We’re praying for you sweet boy~

    Off to make a donation

  11. malachi

i hope the best for Adonis, i would take him in my home anytime and he would never have to worry about being hit again he would have all the love. Iam going to donate for him, even though they have reached the goal. he has pulled my heart strings and i want him. god bless and all the best.

  12. Aibou

This is dreadful. As I really love boxers I gave $5, although I’m the other side of the world. As the target has been reached I think the money may be used for other dogs in need, just like this poor, abused boy.

  13. Spencer & Mya

There is NO WORDS for actions like this towards such a sweet little boy. Thanks to our Angel Buckwheat, alot of the pups are getting together to send our donations….We are all praying for sweet little Adonis to get better so he can go to his furever home and find love and peace with he so rightfully deserves.

  14. Harley Hardy

It took me a few day to be able to look at this page on this dear sweet pup… Now that is done I hope the person or people who did this will be punished… If not in this life time then we can be assured that this will be taken care of when we meet our maker… Adonis our prayers are with you sweet boy and thanks to Buckwheat at Boxer Town help is on the way little buddy… Love & Kisses to you and a special prayer fur the kind people that are taking care of you…
    Your Pal,
    Harley

  15. Jackie

I think an eye for an eye. The person responsible should get the same injuries as that poor dog. I rescued an abused dog and I have absolutely no use for that kind of treatment to animals. We are their guardians. They did not choose us, and they have no choice where they end up. It’s our duty to treat then with the same respect we demand for ourselves.
