Times Square Barks Out Love For Bo
Hey folks…Bo here.
Bad to the Bone: Memoir of a Rebel Doggie has hit the Big Apple’s big screen.
Featured on Times Square’s jumbotron, my lovely mug was on display for all New Yorkers to see…well for a few seconds anyway.
My father thinks he’s being worldly when he says this about New York, “Bo, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.”
Surely he knows that not only did I make it New York but I’ve been making it in Georgia too. All he needs to do is walk in the backyard and step in some of my recent work for confirmation.
Now if I could just get him to drive me to Rockefeller Plaza to pee on that big tree, all my dreams will be fulfilled.

Wow Bo you’ve hit the big time! What’s next, a one dog show on Broadway?
Bo’s 15 minutes of fame was more like 15 seconds, but hey, every little bit helps. And Mollydog….Bo really likes your idea about being on Broadway. Of course at his age he’ll probably need a stunt double for any dancing, bol.
Thanks again to all the Dogsters out there that have shown such support, and their continued help to get the word out. It is greatly appreciated by all of us, more than we can say.
If I read the sign correctly, it said, “First Dog, Bo” as if falsely advertising that the President’s dog had wrote his memoirs. Someone goofed!
Aprilwinefan…Bo is the ‘First Dog’ to have ever written a memoir to be published in non-fiction. The President’s dog just happens to have the same name. Our Bo was around many years before his Bo. There’s nothing false about that statement.
Bo, Congrats my man, I am almost finished with your book and I have been bragging it up to all my furrends. I think you will get more famous by the day.
from your friend and fan Scrappy-Doo
I realize no one likes to be corrected, but the grammar should be changed if that’s the meaning you’re getting at
Actually, have you heard of the books, “Memoirs of a Papillon: The Canine Guide to Living with Humans Without Going Mad” by Genevieve, and “More Memoirs of a Papillon: Diary of a Mad Dog” by Genevieve? They are written by a little papillon, Genevieve back in 2000 and 2005. Great little books!
I just received Bo’s book in the mail a few weeks ago, and I look forward to reading his memoirs as well.
That is so cool – your parents must be very proud!
Aprilwinefan—-Bo is a little sensitive, what can I say? He’s 105 in people years, he deserves a little slack. I will pass your message on to him.
Hope you enjoy Bo’s book. I didn’t read the Genevieve books, I’ll have to check them out. I know Lisa read ‘My Life With George’ and enjoyed that, although it was a bit sad.
OMD!! How cool is that for you, Bo! Wish I had been there to see it live.
Doing my happy dance for you that you are getting the publicity that is deserved.
OUTSTANDING BO!!!! Thas totally PAWTASTIC! Your name is up in lights in the Big Apple! YEAH!!!!!
Bo and family,
We are so excited to see your name in lights! Your book has been passed on to a third person already! We absolutely loved the book as did our Pop, who read it after mom. Now, our friend Vicki is reading it. It’s sooo good, you should consider a sequel!
congrats Bo!
Oh NO! I didn’t mean to hurt Bo’s feelings, I was speaking of the person who put up the sign in NYC! My a-paw-logies to sweet Bo, he should be very proud to have a published book under his belt, er collar!
