Pup To Go Carrier Contest

There’s a new dog carrier on the market, Pup To Go, which allows you to carry your dog with you. Seeing as our dogs all weigh over 60 lbs. I don’t foresee myself carrying them around anytime soon, but if you have a small pup it’s worth checking out.
Judging from the reactions of people walking on the sidewalks of Manhattan, the new Pup To Go carrier for small dogs is destined to be a huge hit. It is unique because it is a harness-style carrier allowing you to carry your small dog right in front of you, five feet off the ground.
People walking by are clearly intrigued and many stop to be introduced to Luke, an 8-year-old Shih Tzu and the inspiration for Pup To Go. His four little legs sticking out front and his tail hanging north to south is an attention getting visual, even for New Yorkers who’ve seen it all.
“Luke likes to be with me as I run all over the city. He loves shopping, going to Union Square and SoHo and joining me for a quick Pinkberry run,” says Meena Mansharamani, proud Mom of Luke and Co-Founder of Pup To Go. “He does not like being confined in a bag-style carrier. Instead, Pup To Go allows him to be part of the action. And people can’t resist him now that he’s at eye level. I’m guessing his head rub action has increased at least a thousand-fold.”
The creator of the Pup To Go said the carrier isn’t to prevent your dog from getting exercise, Luke still gets scheduled walks, but to allow your pup to go places they otherwise couldn’t. The company is generously offering up a few carriers for two lucky Dogsters to win. If you would like to win one-your dog must be no more than 25 lbs.- leave your answer to “If you and your small dog could go anywhere, where would you go with your Pup To Go?” in the comment section.
The contest will run for two weeks, each week one lucky Dogster will be chosen to win a Pup To Go. You have from today through Tuesday, November 24th to enter. The first winner will be chosen on Tuesday, November 17th and the second on Tuesday, November 24th.
Good luck!

I would love to be able to be on an airplane knowing that my dog Maggie would be secure in knowing that I’m right there with her.
That is one of the stupidest things I’ve seen. Those carrier things are for babies, not dogs. Why would you take your dog somewhere they can’t walk around? It also doesn’t look comfortable on the poor doggie.
I LOVE my dogs, but they are dogs, not babies.
If I had a Pup To Go carrier, I would be able to stay warm during the long Minnesotan winters by snuggling up to my mommy under her big winter coat.
DJ- To answer your question about taking dogs where they cannot walk- We live far out in the country and when we need to go into town to go shopping and stuff, I come with because we usually do some visiting and other errands too. For this reason, I get carried in bags because my people would never leave me alone in the car.
I am one adventurous doggy who loves to exercise. But carriers do come in very handy for a wee pup like me. Do you dig what I’m barking, DJ?
Is it April 1st already? BOL
That picture is very cute and funny, but someone needs to call Dr. Barkus asap. The poor pup has a human growing out of his back!
Mins used to have a carrier that he would be in..It would be in the same postition but he would be laying down it didn’t have a place to put his legs he had to almost stand in order to see out of the top…I used it to go a lot of places where it was easier to go and him not bumping into things in the store..That is a great idea.
My 5 lb Chi, Jack, loves to go places/see people and often tries to solicit us into taking him with us when we’re leaving the house. Unfortunately, it’s often inconvenient to having a million bags and only two hands. When I carry him, I often don’t get as much accomplished as I’d like since he’s the most important thing I’m holding. With this carrier, we can go to Starbucks and Christmas shopping together, just for starters. I’d use this carrier to take him mostly everywhere so he can enjoy the lifestyle that we all crave! (Jack sent me the link to enter, you know!)
PS. DJ: If I could take my pit bull with me everywhere on a daily basis too, I would.
“If you and your small dog could go anywhere, where would you go with your Pup To Go?”
Emma is a little white Lhasa-poo, who loves spending time with her humans. With the Pup To Go, she could come with us almost everywhere we go… from our walks downtown (too crowded for a dog on a leash) to shopping (Coach!)… the Pup To Go would allow more human-Emma time, which is her favorite! Less time at home, more time with us. Not to mention we’d keep each other warm
This thing looks SOOOooooo cool !
I would LOVE to have one of them so I could go every where mom goes, then I wouldn’t have to wait, cry till she got back.
Sassy.
would take my baby with me every time I left the house, and wouldn’t have to worry about how long I was gone. Sassy’s Mom
Hey DJ…….leashes are for dogs…but guess what
they have made them for KIDS too………………GET A LIFE and wake up this 2009 not 1909.
My dog hates being in her bag carrier–I think the Pup to Go would let her still go with me wherever I go, but be able to see what was going on around her. I’d definitely be able to take her on more errands around town with this type of carrier, as my hands would be free. Awesome!
we would love a pup to go!
we would use it so i can go to flea markets and snuggle under my moms big coat to keep each other warm on cold days out, we shall also be going to Germany soon (Moving, Military) and it would be used EVERYWHERE! the mall, art galleries, museums and i wont get stepped on! how cool would that be!
A pup to go would be awesome for my 15lb Pom. He loves to go walking with me downtown, but often times gets very stressed out from all the people and I end up carrying him, which he loves but then limits me as to what I would like to do. With this we would both love our time walking and shopping downtown there would be no more stressed pup and a mommy who would be able to get everything she needs to get done and still have the joy of having her furbaby with her
I HAVE A VERY LIVELY YEAR OLD MORKY AND ALSO A TEN YEAR OLD YORKIE. THEY BOTH LOVE TO BE WITH ME AND GO WALKING BUT MY LITTLE YORKIE CAN’T POSSIBLY KEEP UP WITH HIS NEWBIE BROTHER. HE LOVES TO BE CARRIED AND HE ONLY WEIGHS 4 LBS. THIS WOULD BE PERFECT FOR ALL OF US !!!!
How cute is that!!!! I would definately be able to take my little Jay-Jay out shopping with me in Center City with the PupToGo. I’ve tried 2 different kind of bags and he is just not having the bag, we didn’t even make it out of the house either time. I know he would like being able to see everything that is going and and that carrier looks like he would be in a good position to do so.
Dubs no lak! Whud habben iv Mama faw over ‘n fladden por Dubs. No Lak!
Dubs.
When Mommy and daddy went shopping in the stores in Highlands NC. Two weeks ago I had to stay behind in the cabin because No dogs on leash allowed.
Well with I can go into the stores with mommy and daddy!
Would be great on our next trip!
“If you and your small dog could go anywhere, where would you go with your Pup To Go?” I would go to the store and the park and everyone would be calling my pup cute and sweet!!
My poodle mix loves to be held & carried! She just craves affection, maybe because she’s had tough live before ending up in a shelter and being adopted by me. I would love the Pup To Go to carry her around the house, so she gets her snuggles while I get some chores done
And, for outside now that’s so cold too!
I have 7 chihuahua’s ad they all love to go bye bye espically my Daphne who cries when ever I leave her. We love to go to flea markets and garage sales but carrying Daphne around in my arms kills me and it’s extremely hard to look at things while holding her. and eve though shes only five pounds my arms cramp from holding her in the same position while shopping. If we pup to go Daphne could go bye bye with me more often. And maybe the other chihuahuas could go sometimes.
I agree with DJ. It is the stupidest thing I have ever seen for a dog. First of all, I think it would be horrible to keep a dog in this position, forcing it in an anatomically incorrect position wirh no freedom to move. Why not tie the dog up. It is not any different. We would punish a person for strapping a dog down and charge him with animal cruelty. But when someone creates something that looks cute, suddenly its all right. This is an animal not a human being and we should not be forcing a dog into such an unnatural positon no matter how padded and secure it may be. I wonder if a veterinarian was even consulted on this item. I would not be surprised if these animals end up with some orthopedic issues.Shame on the inventor of such an item.
I doubt that is comfortable, and as far as an anatomically correct position they do make those but they can’t be comfortable either.

EVERYWHERE while touring Europe
I think it is a wonderful concept, I have a malitpoo around 10 lbs and it would be so much easier than a leash especially in crowded places, Meeko likes to be right next me at all times, I took her to an electronics store the other day but had to carry her would’ve been so much easier if i had the Pup to Go, a lot of times you can take them into stores as long as they are not food stores and nobody minds, and with the Pup to go your hands are free and you always know that your puppy is safe!!! Great Idea!!
OMD this could be the answer to my prayers!
Hi, I’m SAMSON and live in HOT-lanta, but I really can’t take the heat. You see me & Mommy love to go for long walks at the many beautiful parks here, and we go to lots of festivals and visit nearby little towns for shopping.
The problem is she doesn’t get to enjoy herself as much because she always ends up carrying me in her arms. Then we usually have to cut our outings short.
I really want to go to these places but after awhile I get so hot and tired. And some of the more crowded places (like the outdoor festivals) the leash just isn’t that safe. She tried a pet stroller but it was too bulky for her to maneuver and a pain to take everywhere .
The Pup to Go sounds so perfect for us. This way I can be with Mommy and when I get tired she can carry me around – but still have her hands free to carry other things (like toys & treats she buys for me at the festivals and town shops we visit. BOL!)
After all, it really is all about ME
And then when I want to walk some more she can let me back down and off we go. This means we can stay out longer and have even more fun on our travels. WooHoo!
The Pup to Go really does sound like the perfect solution for me & Mommy!
I’m a 16 pound Miniature Schnauzer ready to explore the world!
Arroooo!
SAMSON
Claire my Pug and I would take a trip to New York. She is a country pug but a City Pug at heart. She would love to be able to go shopping with me and take in all the sights and smells of the city. It would be a lot more safe for her in the Pup to Go in the city until we could get over to central park and she would have a field day with such a fun place. I can see the Christmas Card photo of us in front of the Tree in Rockafeller center with Claire in the Pup to Go. Or a great one of us on top of the Empire State Building looking out at the city. I know we would have a great time together.
Hi I’m a chinese crested/chihuahua cross. I’d love to be able to go everywhere with my mommy but because I have very little hair I can’t be outside too much especially in the winter. But with the pup to go I’d be able to snuggle up in it and be close to mommy’s body heat to keep me warm. What a wonderful time we could have going wherever we wanted.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea, if the dog was in a horizontal position, which is a more natural position, just like when you carry a pup in your arms.
To me that pooch does not look to comfortable. Not only that, but the carriers claim to hold up to 25 pounds. Who’s going to lug a 25 pound dog, pulling their weight off your back and shoulders like that? Princess weighs 18 pounds and I can’t carry her for more then a couple of minutes..
What a cool invention! Mom could pack my sisfur Roxxie and let me run around on a leash to my hearts content.
At present poor Mom is our May pole with 2 leashes and 2 dogs running amok. BOL!!!
Hope we win one for her!
Love it, looks perfect for my pooch and I, but I hate the red. Does it really only come in Red??? Beige or Brown goes with everything and everyone. Just a suggestion, because I won’t pay that price for a color I hate.
My name is Zoya and I’m a 5 pound yorkie and I get nervous sometimes when I go sailing, if I had a carrier I can be a true saling, traveling pup on the go!!! I can be “cuddled” close to my mommy when the water is rough and scary. And it’s a safer way for me to help her with the ropes and not get under foot… not to mention all the fun fairs and markets we can go to together when we reach land!
Jibe ho!
Wow this would be awesome to have for our Daisy Mae.
See when we take all three kids to parks or events that are outside we have to carry Daisy Mae through any of the fields to get to where we are going. She is allergic to bees and once went into anaphylactic shock after stepping on one. We know have a shot we carry when we take her places but often we have to leave them all at home rather then take the risk! This would be great to get her from the car to the event without having to worry about stepping on bees!
What in the world is wrong with people??? I feel so bad for any pup who gets put in one of these things. What if the pup needs to go to the bathroom?? What if they want to sniff something or say hi to another dog or for goodness sakes just BE A DOG! This is really ridiculous. I have nothing against little dogs, but I do have something against a DOG owner who would subject their beloved pet to this. It looks like a torture device.
lol, this may look like a torture device, but I see it as a great way to take my little Maggie Mae for extended walks when her little legs get tired of walking.
Makes for a great “extra” for trying to lose weight on power walks. Maybe this little pooch was just having a bad day.
My 12 lb Lhasa-Shitzu mix is older and gets tired on long walks so this would be perfect for us to be together.
Thanks for the posts!!
My 11 year old Pom, Killer, would LOVE to go with his mom and dad on their daily exercise walks. You see, our walk covers much more mileage than Killer is able to make. He gets a regular “dog walk” with his 6 “siblings” every day, but he loves to be with us soooo much, that I hate to have to leave him behind. Killer is our special boy and deserves this prize!
I would love to take my 2.3lbs teacup chihuahua Snuggles on a plane in this Pup to Go Carrier…
Snuggles would just snuggle up in it… and be closer to my heart
My name is Buster Love. Love is my middle name because my mom loves me so much.
I’m a 15 year old pug with cataracts and bad hips. I just got a new little sister, Audrey. She is of the Human variety and has a “baby bjorn”. I watch her leave everyday for a walk with my mom. I have to stay behind as I lost my eye sight before I could memorize the trail they walk on. However, on Sunday’s we go on a family walk and my parents put me in my little sister’s bugaboo (bassinet) stroller while she rides in the baby bjorn. When she gets bigger there will not be a stroller for me as she will need to ride in it.
I would like to win this contest so i could walk in a ‘pup to go’ like my little sister and she could have her stroller back.
xoxo,
Buster Love
Ziggy is an 18 pound JRT who absolutely hates the rain. We live in Oregon so that means that he stays home about 7 months of the year while I go to garage sales, farmer’s markets and other events. He also dislikes his raincoat with a passion. Pup-To-Go would allow him to be under the umbrella with me and we could do all our summer things together all year long.
I have a minature doxie for a shadow and would love to take her more places, and feel safe doing it.As small as she is (4-5 lbs)I worry about more agressive dog’s. With Pup-To-Go Sara could spend a lot of time with me just “hanging around”. I know she would love it.
Oh yeah my mother-in-law had something simular years ago when I had my female Chihuahua and she loved it.She would curl up her feet and fallasleep in it just to be close to me. No harm and it didsn’t bother her to be in that position she would sleep in weirder styles on the bed.
I would love one of those things! I really enjoy going to outdoor flea markets with mom and dad, but I get so exhausted that dad has to carry me. This way, I can walk all I want and catch a ride if needed. Please pick me, I hate being the only one constantly being left at home because mom and dad won’t have an arm free to lug me about.
oh please please mom needs this so much.you see she has lupus and it is hard for her to carry me lately but with this she can.
please help her to carry me..
woof and thank you even if you don’t pick us
sniff sniff
If me and my dog could go anywhere it probably would be to The Land Of Oz! That way I could strap him on me and not have to worry about that Wicked Old Witch…then that would leave her to saying…I’ll get you my pretty…referring to me..hehe..No Seriously…I would go to all dog shops allowing me to show off my sweet baby without having to worry about other dogs biting him and I would especially go to places like the vet, clinics, and parks without worry. I love it!
There are four of us pups under 25 lbs. I am sure Pebbles or Freckles would take turns using a Pup to Go. If we had a Pup to Go we could all go more places at one time and mom would have an easier time handling all of us on our leashes. One of us could ride not walk. We would like to have a Pup to Go to share we would all be able to go to the park at the same time and none of us be left at home.
Thank you for the opportunity to enter to win a Pup to Go.
Yoshi, Pebble, Bear, and Freckles.
Pepper is too big but she says thank you too.
Well I am not sure if we are supposed to enter a second time for the second cahnce? But this time it is me Duke. I want to win this for my sister Daisy Mae. See, I am the smallest of the pack but I have the biggest bark!! And I make sure all the bad things stay away from Nugget and Daisy Mae. But the bees, they are so small and fly so fast that I can not keep them away from Daisy MAe. Well the bees and black widows, that almost killed her once too.
Anyway. If I could win this for my sissy Daisy Mae, well she would have to give me so many of her treats that I would be happy too!!
So pleeeease????
My 12 pound mini-dachshund goes to school with me. A Pup to Go would make it safer for her to be on the playground when kids are there so that she does not get accidently stepped on or hit by a playground ball. It would also make it easier for me to take her outside during fire drills so that she isn’t stepped on by the numerous kids going out the doors.
This would be wonderful for our family. We have 3 dogs OES, Sheltie and a yorkie. When we want to go on walks, our Old English doesnt let our little yorkie walk..she Stalks him and herds him. So it is very difficult to include scooter our yorkie on walks. With this, he would be able to participate, also because he isnt really keen on walking too much , he is more of a couch potato, he Would “RUFF THIS” …
My Mom and I would love to have a Pup To Go Carrier. My mom is a diabetic and I’m her alert dog. I always have to be where mom is. Sometimes I get really tired walking when we go shopping or just running around. I’m a Shih Tzu and have short legs and don’t always keep up. A Pet To Go Carrier would make it easier for both mom and me. I wouldn’t have to run all the time and I could be carried. I would be close to mom to alert her when her blood sugars drop. This would be something we both would love and use.
Hi Everybody,
My little dog is an 8 pound Pom. He likes to take long walks which is fine in the evening after all the big dogs in the neighborhood have taken their walks. You see he had some close calls from some of those big doggies. I love big dogs too but am fearful to take Diesel for walks during prime dog walking time. Unfortunately, we have to take our walks around 9PM. I know this is a simple answer to where I would take my dog if I had a Pup to Go but I would be able to take my dog for walks when the big boys are out walking as well. I would still have Diesel take traditional walks in the later evening so he gets his exercise but this way he can get out during the day when the sun is shining. It would be awesome to have one of these. If I could afford to buy one I would but with being out of work for a year, we worry more about a roof over our heads and food in our mouths.

how come these Pup To Go’s are not sold here?
It would be great to win one of these. In my rescue, I always have a dog in need of surgery. That would help carry them around.
I have a little Peketese in my rescue, her name is Prada; she will was born with a genetic defect. She doesn’t any muscle attaching her left ankle to the rest of the leg, so she cannot use her leg to walk.
She will have surgery shortly to have a muscle graft; the surgeon will take a muscle from her hip, flip it down and attach her ankle to the back of the knee. After the surgery, she will not be allowed to walk on her leg for 6 months and she will have to have physio and hydrotherapy.
I will have to carry her around for 6 months. That pouch would be great to carry her around with me and to go for walks with her. She would still enjoy the outdoors instead of staying inside for all that time.
My sweet Cairn terrier would love a Pup To Go carrier! I could take him shopping with me instead of leaving him at home — he goes crazy for car rides but can’t go on many because, of course, I can’t leave him in the car by himself. What a fantastic item! Thanks for this great giveaway
I have several handicapped dogs and this would be wonderful for them, well for one at a time anyway. When we go for walks they cant keep up with the big dogs. This carrier would be just the ticket.
the pup to go carrier would be really neat, especially right now since i have some sutures in my right rear leg (some rough and tumble play with my big girl friends! it’s not too too bad i guess)…. but it would be really awesome since i love to hang around my mom constantly and she would be able to take me so many more place with her without worrying what i’m going to get into!! thanks!!!!
Luke in the photo looks like my 4 year old Lhasa Apso Maggie. She would love being carried around but she would also love walking and meeting other doggy friend. Have anyone tried Dog Training Tutor? It seems to be a good dog training for behavior problem. Check this out http://tinyurl.com/y9fyeos
Hi,
this would be really great for my 14 year old Llhasa Apso Taz who is almost completely blind, but still would like to to go everywhere with his GSD sister and Min Schnauzer brother ( all rescues) It is really hard for him not to be able to run and play with them anymore. This carrier would allow him to be still be in the middle of the action, but much safer.
