Win A Copy Of BAD TO THE BONE, The Pawfect Holiday Gift
Horst Hoefinger

Bo coveframer

As a fun way to kick off the start of the holidays we’re offering up three pawtographed copies of Bo’s book BAD TO THE BONE: Memoir Of  A Rebel Doggie Blogger.

Just in time for the holiday season, “Bad to the Bone: Memoir of a Rebel Doggie Blogger (published by Kensington Books), the first memoir ever written by a dog, is a laugh-out-loud look at how a canine and two seemingly normal people wreak havoc on an unsuspecting world while creating a lifelong bond in the process.

Bo Hoefinger is not your everyday, run of the mill author; he’s a mixed-breed shelter dog with an attitude.

Let’s get this clear right away: I’m a dog.

I’m 1′10″ and weigh 63 lbs, and although I’m a mutt on the outside, I’m a purebred on the inside. My good nature comes from the Golden Retriever side of the family, while my stubbornness is clearly from my Chowchow bloodlines. I’ve got Rastafarian ears, a black tongue for licking, and paws that should be on a dog twice my size.

I type 60 words a minute.

My name is Bo, and this is my story.

From shelter dog reject to beloved pet and popular doggie blogger, Bo’s life has been anything but ordinary.

Join this incorrigible canine as he welcomes us into his life, complete with his wacky “parents,” a constipated feline housemate, and chipmunk warfare. All tales are 100% true and will put animal lovers in fits of laughter. Bad to the Bone is an unforgettable, laugh-out-loud tale of love and loyalty that reveals the true heart of a modern American family.

To enter to win a copy just leave a comment in the comment section letting Bo know why you would like to read his book. The contest runs today through Monday, November 9th when I will choose the winners.

You can get a copy of  BAD TO THE BONE on Amazon, click here,  it’s the perfect stocking stuffer for the dog or dog lover in your life.  Please bark the word about Bo’s book to all your pup pals, it’s not easy being a writer in a fur suit so we’re depending on word of mouth to help get news out.

* Thanks to my pal Flicka for making the book cover pic for me.

  1. molly and Lily

We would love to win a copy of Bad to the Bone, both of us are stuck home by ourselves during the day and love nothing better than a good read by one of our favorite new artists. Although Lily has to do all the reading (being a Chihua, molly can only read in spanish!), it helps us break up the monotany of barking at the mailman and other movement out the window, and the every entertaining sleep. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Pick Us!

  2. Bubba Love

That book sounds awesome! I would love to have a copy for my mom to read it to me and the rest of the kids before bedtime. When I was younger I liked Barney Beagle Plays Baseball, but now that I am grown I am ready for a Big Boy Read. Please pick us to get your book, woof, woof, whine, whine (I’m not supposed to beg, but this is worth it), sitting pretty for you too! I’ll be your best friend, don’t tell my guardians I said that .
Ipromise to take good care of it and I won’t let the kids chew on the cover.
My guardians could really use a good laugh these days, they have been having difficult times, but always manage to give us all the attention and care we need and more. I would love to give them a gift for a change, since they are always giving to us. thank you sooooo much. Ruff, ruff!

  9. Bobbe and Sara

Hi. I’m Sara, and I’ve been reading with Mom for ages. Usually, she reads to me, but sometimes, when she’s not around, I grab the book myself. Recently, I decided to get some religion, and “read” the Bible and the Qur’an… unfortunately, I don’t have long fingers or opposable thumbs, and Mom came home to find that all those pages were all over the bed! We would love to read Bo’s book as well (although I suspect Mom’s gonna insist that she and I read it together!

    XOXOXO,
    Sara

p.s. I think she’s still laughing over my last attempts.

  10. Snowda

  11. J and the furface gang

We would be so excited to win a copy of Bo’s book. Our mom and dad are dog people and there are 5 of us puppers. I know if we had a copy of this book that mom and dad would read to us every nap time and at bed time.

At Thanksgiving cousin Zack will be staying with us while his family is out of town. I know that our brother Tom will be bringing our cousins Bandit and Snickers here on Thanksgiving day.

Between all of our cousins and the grandkids this would be such a treat to have Bo to read about and talk about.

We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to maybe win this book

    Thanks

Yoshi, Pebbles, Pepper, Bear, and Freckles

I know mom is going to put the book on her Christmas list but we could have it ahead of time if we won it.

  12. Megs

I would love to read this book!! I have just this week become a dog owner :) My boyfriends daughters had to get rid of their dog… and so we took the little guy in. He is the best behaved little gentleman that I’ve ever met!!! I am now a new dog lover!!!

  13. Barbara,

I love the concept of the book. i’ve often thought, “what are my guys and gals thinking”. I’ve even at times gave my pups thoughts in my own head. Like yesterday, forgetting the time change making it dark earlier, I accidently turned out the lights before leaving for work. Assoon as I pulled in the drive way, I realized I’d left my pups in the dark whicj is something I never do when I know I’ll be late getting in or if it is going to be a cloudy day, I will leave a light on in my bed room where they ususally lay, on my bed and one on in the living room incase one of them decides to go in there. Even though I have dogs, I just don’t like coming home to a dark house. And when I saw it was dark, I thought my babes were saying, ” mom you didn’t have to leave us in the dark, you never do.” I also leave a radio on, one in bed room and on in living room, a station they like a course. What can I say, they grew up listen to music. It really would be nice to win Bo’s book. I think I’ll get my partner in Transport Janet one of them for Christmas, if they are at book stores in Nashville, TN and myself one as well.

I wondered if Bo might be in Nashville, Tn doing a book signing.

  14. Binx

I had every single intention of buying this book right away as soon as it came out until we found out that Binx has more than 20 allergies. I have to put off anything extra right now to make sure he has his new medication and since I am disabled money is so not easy to come by right now. I would so love to have a copy of your book and would really like to be considered for it. Thank you and many congrats on your book being out there and we hope that you sell tons of them! Also, to Flicka, great job on the cover! :) Binx and Susan

  15. Takoda CGC

I just finished reading Bo’s book and whomever wins it is in for a treat. It will draw you right into the story and you’ll find yourself looking at your furbaby and oftentimes, you’ll be thinking, yep- sounds just like you.

Bo, thanks for the finest book I have read in a long time, and coming from me, that means an awful long time. Outstanding, hilarious, stupendous: no words do it justice.

Folks, why wait, buy a copy, read it now and if you win, give that copy to your friend. They will love you for it.

  17. Yogi

Hi, We would love to have a signed copy of your book. My Mommy needs to laugh. She needs a feel good, funny book to read. She has been going through alot of hard times in the past couple years with surgeries and deaths in the family. I do my best to cheer her up, and I do a good job at it most of the time. But a pup can only do so much. Will you please help me? I don’t have money. Hard for a dog to find a job these days, and because of Mom’s health she can’t find work either. I remember when she read Marley and Me, it really helped her. Bet your book could too. It would also be a good gift to my Gramma. She needs help too. I could give it to her for christmas. The gift that keeps giving. Can’t wait to see her face when she opens it. I promise to help you too. I am on a lot of other dog sites. I have a lot of friends on them. Not to brag, but I am pretty popular on them. I am new to this site. Still working on getting friends here. I promise I will tell all my friends about your book. Please help me to help my Mommy and Gramma. Thank you. Keep up the good work. There are a lot of humans who need your help.

  18. Natcho

I love when me and mum sit on the bed and read a bed time story. I put my head on her lap and give her those puppy dog eyes so that she can read just ONE more page…it works everytime. I would for mom to read me a book written by a dog, you know, cause we can relate and all. :D

  19. Sugar

I would love to win a ‘pawtographed’ copy of “Bad To The Bone”! I, too, am a shelter dog that found a loving home. Mom could read it to me, Peanutty and Bambi while we lounge on the couch like royal pups. I’ve heard how furtastic this book is, and I’d love to get my paws on it. =)

  20. SAMSON

Me, pick me! I want to win it. It will be so great to prove to Mommy that I’m not the only one that thinks this way! BOL! We pups gotta stick together. There’s power in numbers!

I pawmise to be good for the rest of the year. Really I do. ;)

Oh, I would love to win this book for my mommy! She just got me in early October and has spent nearly all of her SSI monthly money to ensure that I have the best of everything: vet care, dog food, toys, and very soon puppy kindergarten classes! She has done so much for me, I would love to win her this book to give something back to her.

She is physically disabled by a rare syndrome called klippel-feil and bought me to help her with service dog tasks around the home, she’s going to ‘owner train’ me. Please, please pick me! I’ll love you fur-ever for it and so will my mommy! *tail wag*

  27. Merit's Mom

    Hi Bo,

I am rescue dog too. I was one hour from being put to sleep when I was rescued by a nice lady that saves Huskys. While I am not a Husky, she saw some worth in me to feel I worth a second chance at a good life. My mom took me sight unseen because she heard such good things about me. She named me Merit because she says I am one worthy of saving. And here I am just one year later. I am in advanced obedience training and am now a certifed therapy dog.
I use to make visits to nursing homes but contracted a form of MRSA so my veterinarians says I should not go back anymore. It has taken me four long months to get well but I am back to being my feisty old self again. So my mom’s nice boss says that I can come to the school where she teaches and help with the reading program there. I am going to be letting boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade read to me and my mom can read to them. Wouldn’t it be great if she could share some of your stories with them! I think it would be one woofing god time. So I would love to have a copy of your new book so I can share your adventures with them.

    Con-bark-ulations on your new book!
    Your friend,
    Merit
