Dog Sitter Gets Puppy Drunk
A 28-year-old man, Jared Levi Colony, got a friend’s dog drunk while he was dog sitting. The dog’s owner was only gone for about a half an hour, but in that time Colony poured vodka into the dog’s bowl encouraging him to drink it.
Here are the details from the Metro.co.uk.
When the owner returned, the dog – named Pip – was unresponsive and had its tongue hanging out.
‘Pip’s just a little drunk right now,’ Colony is reported to have said.
Pip was treated for alcohol poisoning at the local at Bright Eyes and Bushy Tails veterinary hospital, and survived.
Colony, who may have thought this was funny, probably isn’t laughing anymore after being charged with animal abuse and facing up to two years in prison.

We can always live in hope the pond slime who gave the dog the vodka gets a dose of bleach in his next drink…. but I doubt there is that much justice in this world.

My grammy tells a story of her Westie she had years ago and how she had to watch the dog like a hawk if she had friends over and they were drinking. Whiskey as she ended up being named liked the taste of soda and would try to steal drinks of grammy’s soda. Well anytime anyone sat their drink down and if it had soda mixed with the liquor she would try to drink it. she did succeed one night when this dumb guy sat his drink on the coffee table. She started drinking and when anyone came close she’d stop then this dummy thinking he had drank it refilled it and set it down again and Whiskey got on the table again and drank some more. Grammy finally caught her and banished her to the back porch and that guy out the front door. She had told everyone as they entered and several times during the night not to leave drinks sitting down low.
Wow. I guess some people *can* really be that stupid. Poor dog.

This, again, reinforces the importance of hiring a professional pet sitter to care for your pets. I use one because of the level of education and professionalism that they bring to the table.
If you don’t use one, find one today!!

It was really, really poor judgment As a friend and a caretaker. I do want to say that alcohol can really do damage to a dog, much more than a human. Many people do not know that.

My sister’s family lived with us for a while after their house burned down a few years ago. My idiot brother-in-law thought it would be funny to give beer to our chihuahuas. Luckily, they didn’t get any but still, I flipped OUT!!! He KNOWS how I am about my dogs. I yelled at him and said “I don’t even give my dogs Wal-Mart food and you think I’m going to be OK with you giving them BEER?!?!? Are you *$%&-ing stupid???? How would you like it if I gave your kids heroin just to see if it was funny?? HUH??” I was sooo mad!
To this day, he doesn’t think he did anything wrong and that I got bent out of shape for nothing. Moron…
Charli I totally agree!!! my brother tried to do the same thing when Daphne was only 8 weeks old!!!! Needless to say I flipped. This guy should get the full sentence and not be allowed to procreate. My DOG could you imagine what his offspring would be like if they were raised by a guy who figured something like this was ok?

My Dad had a big doggie who liked a cup of coffee. he would have his and when it cooled, gave Lucky his coffee. (long time ago) However, it’s nothing to giving doggies alochol. Giving doggies hard alocohol or some kind of drugs. Bam!

Little Ziggy is very social and wants to do exactly what everyone around is doing. When friends come over and have a beer or a glass of wine, he’s right there to try to get a sip – or more like whatever’s left in the glass. He has to be watched all the time because he’s fast, sneaky and very determined. It’s a pet owner’s responsibility to make sure their environment is safe – and that includes with whom and/or where you leave your pet when you’re not around. Zig goes to a day care or a reputable kennel when I can’t be home to take care of him. Expensive – yup, but it’s worth it knowing that he’s well-cared for and safe. But that is part of my job as his guardian. Thank goodness Pip lived to see another day. I hope that A#$% Jared grows up and learns from his jail time.
