    Yes we underestimate our dogs don’t we? They are much smarter than we give them credit for.

    It’s a great cartoon, except that the dog and the good doctor aren’t engaged in the same activity.

    Pavlov is conducting an experiment in classical conditioning, by the use of a neutral stimulus – the bell – which has no intrinsic value or meaning to the dog.

    The dog, on the other hand, is acting like a true dog trainer by making use of operant conditioning: the dog’s drool has a high intrinsic meaning to the doctor.

    Too bad neither dog nor doctor was around long enough to share the joys of clicker training! Imagine the fun they would have had!

    OMD that is so funny!!

    Momma caught on real fast but poppa??? He jus would not admit that I had im trained. I got it all figured out how ta get cookies. It was so easy….till momma ratted me out. Now he sometimes cheaps out :( but I still get em, snort, snort.
