‘Monster’ Doberman Saves Family From Fire
The fire at a Beltsville, MD home started on Tuesday morning while the Aquilar family were sleeping. Their 6-year-old Doberman, Monster, was outside when the fire broke out and started barking uncontrollably and pouncing on a sliding glass door waking the family up.
The house was equipped with smoke alarms but Monster’s barking woke them up before the first one went off, giving them extra time to get out safely.
Here’s a report from myfoxdc.com.

Way to go Monster, you are our dog hero of the day.

Always listen and find out what your dog is barking about! I have seen cases of people ignoring their dog barking and their car was stolen, their kitchen was burned.
Way to go Monster!!!
The door should not have been locked!!!!
Maybe if Monster was not locked outside, he could have warned the family earlier and the house would not be a total loss. Dogs should not be left outside.
Way to go Monster !!!!!!!! We at dogster are proud of you. I just hope that one of my furbabies does that if it ever happens. We will keep Monster & his family in ours prayers. God Bless
Way to go, good boy Monster! (you need a better name fella). The family is safe and all together, that’s what matters. Perhaps someone should manufacture a
smoke alarm that sounds like a dog barking.
Way to go Monster. High paws to you.
That is one smart dog! Although my dog has never saved us from a fire, she did warn us about a copperhead, which is pretty good.
Woow! Great to hear about a doberman doing something so brave! Congrats Monster you are a great dog!
Am I the only one that actually watched this video.
Yea yea 3 cheers for the dog , YIPPIE!!!
Yes 7 of the 9 kids are lucky to be alive because of this dog, a dog that has more sense than its owners.
The mom admits in this video, that she had her children LOCKED in a basement room. If she said, I didnt have the strength to find the key they would be gone.
HELLO people this women just admitted that she endangers her kids lives!!!
This is clearly child endangerment, neglect and abuse.
Anyone that would admit they were getting rid of their dog should have NEVER got one.
Pets are like kids, its a life time CHOICE.
Oh sorry honey we cant feed one more child get rid of one. SICKENING!!!!
Watch and judge for youselves.
I urge everyone to call child services in MD.
This women clearly needs guidance.
Thank you, Concerned. I thought I was the only one picking up on the children locked in the basement. Must be some neighborhood. Sweet Dobie, poor Dobie, tied up outside and still dedicated to his people. This is messed up.
Monster is a hero , so why does this poor dog have to bre chained up which we think is cruel and what a dirty place to keep him, how dare that women lock her kids up, she needs turned in for putting them in danger……mom thinks this beautiful hero needs a home that he can get the decent love and care he needs ….prayers to Monster, and we hope you get a new home, they dont deserve you….Be Safe Monster
Concerned, Nero and Homer, Abbie and Hemi,
AMEN!!!! Prayers to Monster and the children.
Their local SPCA needs to check Monsters living conditions. Child welfare needs to check the kids living conditions. In the video, Monster was tied to a tree with garbage all around. Maybe, because of fire, maybe not.
I thought you would like an update on Monster. He was taken by animal control a couple of weeks after this was posted. His owners were contacted and ultimately surrendered him to the county. He’s currently with the rescue for which I volunteer and we have changed his name. We promise from here on out, only GREAT things for this dog. He’ll be treated like the hero he is.
