10 Reasons Dogs Hate Halloween
At Dogster’s World Headquarters our inboxes are always brimming over with adorable pup photos, and sometimes they’re just too good to keep to ourselves. This month, the Halloween theme has predictably taken over these little love letters, and the cute is oftentimes accompanied by a dollop of “wow, that poor creature.” So, for your afternoon lulz, behold our roundup of the most, er, inspired costumes we’ve received in the mail thus far.
Is it just us or does Halloween seem to be way more fun for the dog owner than the costume wearer? Here are 10 reasons we imagine our furry friends might loathe this spooky holiday:
10. It’s no fun sharing the position of “Top Banana” with three other dogs.
9. We imagined we’d look more dignified in “service dog” garb.
8. It is more fun to eat than be eaten.
7. The Force is weak with some costumes.
6. A stove top is no place for a dog. As for a pot, don’t even go there.
5. We’d like to maintain on all fours, thank you very much.
4. By no means lock our favorite plaything away.
3. If you need to turn your pet into a sex symbol, you may have a problem.
2. If you must dress us up, at least make an honest effort.

I think they ought to change ‘Trick or Treat’ to “Treat or Bite”… keep the skin-kids inside to pass out treats, take the doggies walking in their dudds and patrol the neighborhoods. Everybody has fun!

Sure, my humans think these outfits are hilarious, but I say that they are cruel and unusual punishment. If it isn’t bad enough, I overheard Target has squirrel costumes–like any self respecting dog would want to be a squirrel. What’s next bird costumes? I do have to admit that the police dog who has the cat in jail at least can hold his or her head high among other dogs. Arresting a cat is something even dogs who like cats can appreciate!
Top banana!, Now thats a nice one. The one with the dog as a pet sex symbol was hilarious too, maybe she can be marilyn monroe and have that shot as a memento.
Gotta love themall. Hard times must be at the house where thedog only gets a paper bag. I’ll write mycongress man aout that one.

OMG! I was ROFLMAO!! I want the alligator!! THe “Unknown dog” is such a hoot! How did they keep that bag on the pups head like that?? Those banana outfits look really hot though. Poor things.
Boo just won’t go for costumes at all. This year we’re just going to attach a mop handle to her collar. I’ll spray her with endust and she’ll go as a dust mop.
why do people dress up animals? It is cruel and immature. let them be pets!

I HATE THE ONE WITH THE PANTY HOSE ON THE POOR DOG’S FACE. HOW IS THE DOG SUPPOSED TO BREATHE? THE PERSON WHO DID THIS SHOULD STIFLE HERSELF/HIMSELF AND SEE HOW IT FEELS.
My little Alyssa wanted to buy the banana costume for our dog, a Pom! It looks so much better on these dogs. Gads, I was great to have someone put a smile on my face!
