Chicago Day Care Front For Dog Fighting
This is one for the record books, a day care center that was also used for dog fighting. When the center in the Chicago suburbs was raided on Tuesday children were found playing near battered and malnourished dogs, blood was splattered on the garage floor.
According to the New York Times nine battered dogs, four of them puppies, were removed by the police. During the raid 10 children were at the day care center, which is now shut down.
In the article it doesn’t state what prompted the raid. Whatever the reason, thank goodness it happened, not only for the dogs but also the children. Keeping malnourished dogs that are being trained to fight near children is just an accident waiting to happen. The people involved are despicable human beings who have no regard for animals or children.
Three men have been charged, including the day care center operator’s husband, and two more are being sought.

There is absolutely no punishment in this world severe enough for these soulless monsters. Let’s hope the dogs and children involved are able to come out of this ordeal without any lifelong physical and psychological damage.
Wow. This is really very horrible. I can’t believe that something like this happens! For whatever reason, I’m glad the raid happened. The animals and children will hopefully be safe now. So sad.
Wow, that is very sad. I am glad they figured it out before any thing else happened. I am sure this happens alot more! They find a good cover and run with it until they are discovered. I am thankful for those out there working on this sad problem!

I saw this on the news Friday night. These people need to go to jail. What about the daycare people. You know they were involved also. Just sickening.
This is CRAZY!! Why isn’t the “daycare operator” being arrested w/her husband? And, how can parents drop their kids off in such an environment? What has happened to people, seriously? As Horst said, it’s a good thing none of the children were hurt. Worst part is that people would have blamed the Pits, not the people!!!!

Very scary & sad! Perhaps the daycare center operator was so under her husband’s thumb (think “dog fighter” = probable people abuser) that she had no choice. He probably made her do daycare to bring in a regular income as well as provide a front for his “habit.” How scary for the people who had their kids in that daycare, with no idea of what was going on behind the scenes….
