My family and I want to thank everyone that had thoughtful and kind words to say..

We also want to update everyfur on the Kelm Pups..

They have found a home TOGETHER in Illinois.

Yes! They are doing GREAT!

Thank Dog to the wonderful people that found it in their hearts to give these beautiful pups a new forever home…

I know Mike and Sue are smiling down on them as they watch over their family…

Dear Mike and Sue,

I wish I could be the one to adapt your beautiful dogs. I pray that they stay together (they must!), just as the two of you. My heart breaks for your families and your 4 adorable kids pictured above. I cannot stop thinking of them. I am so glad your 4 babies are together.

I must believe that there is a reason why this happened – this tragedy that words will never convey. I also must believe that the pups are still at the shelter for a reason. I believe you are both in a better place and I am praying that just the right soul is coming to care for your babies until you are all reunited again.

I am so heartbroken that I cannot take them for you. I will continue to follow this story hoping, hoping, hoping, hoping. God Bless.

Great idea Koda. I live a couple hours from Schaumburg so I have emailed the info to a local rescue who specialize with huskies but often take other large breeds in too.

I wish I could take them too, they all are so adorable and just look like good, happy dogs. So so sad.

I sent the info onto Husky Haven in NJ, they are reputable at finding homes for larger dogs. I wish I could take them in.

So sorry to hear things like this, Who ever gets the life insurance,house and other things should have the respect to take care of the animals.If their is no will,the state should take care of the dogs for the rest of their lives,since they will end up with he peoples money and home.
I told my son and daughter they could have everything(over a million)they had to take care of the animals(13). If they didn’t I would come back from the dead and every time they looked around they would see me.
ANIMALS DESERVE RESPECT AND RIGHTS ALSO.

That’s just terrible! This reminds me to update our wills and designate caregivers and instructions for rehoming our dogs in case something happens to us. I would hate for my family to have to try and figure out what I would have wanted to do. Hearts United for Animals has a Legacy of Love program that I’ve looked into before but never completed. Now is the time.

what a tragic story…
that is my biggest fear too… my husband and i have 5 dogs of our own…. mommy daddy and their litter of 3 boys…. so we have 5 in total…

if something were to happen to us we would never want them to be separated… they are all they have… they are their own pack!

i pray that these dogs get to stay together…. it would be so heart breaking to brake them apart… i hope someone with a good heart takes them all in and gives them a good loving home, in honor of their family…

What a tragic loss for the family and for those sweet doggies. Their little faces radiate the love they have received. I hope that someone can take them together so they don’t have to live through another traumatic separation.

My dog and three parrots are in my will with specific instructions about who is to care for them and there is a nice life insurance policy just for them. I probably (hopefully) will outlive Ziggy my JRT, but the parrots will outlive me by decades.
