Help The Dogs Being Killed By Dog Death Squads In China
Horst Hoefinger

Hanzhongdog

I read something about this a while back and it is truly one of the most horrific things imaginable, dog death squads that come to kill your dog.

It sounds like something out of a horror movie, but it’s not. As you can see from the message below another city in China is going to start a mass slaughter tomorrow, we can help.

Read through the instructions,  even if you can’t make a donation please take a moment to send an email, you don’t need to write it just use the one provided and fill in your information.

Thank you in advance to all those that take a few minutes out of their day to do this.  If you think you’re too busy, think about if someone from the government knocked on your door, took your dog, and then beat it to death in front of you. Don’t let this happen to the innocent dogs of China.

I’ve just received an urgent report that another city in China is planning a mass cull to slaughter any unregistered dogs, strays, and even registered family dogs that are over 14 inches (35cm) tall.

Dog owners in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, are even being told to kill their own dogs, or else their dogs will be beaten to death by the police and the owners will be charged a fine. Can you imagine being forced to kill your own dog to save it from a more brutal slaughter?

Unless we can stop this now, the Dog Death squads could be roaming the streets tomorrow – beating, stoning, and killing dogs – some right in front of their owners.

You might remember the attached e-mail I sent you recently about a similar cull. We found out too late for many of those dogs, but this time we have a chance to stop it before it starts.

I need you to do two things right now:

1. Send an e-mail to the Chinese Ambassador in your country. So you can act quickly, I’ve written an e-mail for you - click here to review and send it.

2. Make a donation to help IFAW end dog culls in China and to protect animals around the world from similar cruelty.

It’s crucial that you act quickly –according to the government notice, the police will begin combing the streets tomorrow to kill dogs. Please send your message now, and then forward this e-mail to as many of your friends as possible urging them to help us stop this slaughter.

In addition to working to stop this cull, IFAW is helping draft China’s first national animal welfare legislation that will prohibit culls like this. And we’re developing a rabies vaccination and sterilization program that we can offer to rural communities to humanely prevent rabies and control dog populations.

We’ve stopped culls like this in other Chinese cities, and we can stop this one too! Please send your message of protest today.

And then please make a donation to help us continue our efforts to help save animals around the world from cruelty and exploitation.

Please act now to save these dogs – make it the very next thing you do.

Thank you,

Fred

I just filled out the info and sent off my email, it took less than a minute.  I also made a donation, no amount is too small, we need to help IFAW fight back against this horrific injustice taking place in China.

Please post and crosspost this message, we need to get the word out.

For God´sake, How this could be?…
    Let´s help them. OMG, I love animals…This is horrible. I feel Sad. They´re abuse…

  2. Pogo

Right, my protest email has gone off. There are no words I can offer beyond that. Sickened to the core

  3. Buck

That is just sick and wrong – I’ve sent my email!

  4. Prin-cess

I sent my email again. Their is a disgusting video on Utube. Your’ll need a strong stomach.

Their is a group that is also trying to stop the breeding and slaughter of dogs in parts of Viet Nam and Tiawan. They stuff many dogs into an 8inch high chicken coop cage, no food, no water and they sit in the blistering sun all day until they are sold as dog food for human consumption. They even show the factory where the dogs are processed. The dogs see and hear and smell everything before it’s their turn.Again its on Utube. and it has been going on for years. The people in these countries don’t see it as being any different then our own cattle factories.

It leaves me speechless and sick and crying…

  5. Kenyon's Mom

It isn’t any different than our own cattle factories. We just don’t get the warm fuzzies for cows.

  6. Mollydog

    I’ve sent my e-mail.
As horrific as this is we can’t escape the fact that some cultures look at dogs, and animals in general, differently than we do. Kenyon’s Mom is right, we don’t think twice about how the cows, pigs and chickens are treated as we
eat our burgers, fried chicken and BBQ pork. I’m a hypocrite because I’m not a vegetarian, I’ve planned to have chicken for supper tonight, andI have more meat in the freezer . So It’s a good thing for dogs in our culture or else we’d be dinning on Fido.

  7. Pogo

You guys are right about the cow/dog thing, but cows don’t bond with humans the way dogs do, and cows don’t put their lives on the line for their humans either. Neither do they display loyalty, love and compassion as dogs do to both humans and each other (witness – several stories about dogs who stayed by their dead dog friends in the middle of traffic or who tried to drag them across the road to safety). I’m sorry, but while I respect what you’re saying, cows and dogs are not a valid comparison.

If you look hard enough out there on the net, there’s an utterly horrifying and heartbreaking video of a GS dog somewhere in China, already beaten and lying on the ground, wagging his poor tail in vain as his killer moves in for the killing blow. No, cows and dogs are NOT a good comparison.

  8. Nero and Homer

I sent my letter, I made a donation, but I feel sick, sick to my stomach. These people have no regard for the life of a living being, human or animal. This is hell.

  9. Jackson's mom

Pogo, you’re exactly right…everytime someone posts something about injustice to dogs, there’s always SOMEONE that brings up livestock…cows, chickens, pigs, etc, do not have the same bond as dogs…

Anyway, I do not want an email for these…I need a word…monsters? Demons?(that one fits better)…I want a PHONE NUMBER.

  10. Cocoa

Letter Sent….. This is horrifying but not the first time China has slaughtered dogs. Sadly while reading up on certain breeds I realized how close some breeds came to extinction when communisn took over in China. The Chinese Shar Pei was wiped out in China years ago, thankfully the breed did not go into extinction because of other places in the world who had shar peis.

It sickens my very soul to think innocent dogs are being killed. Animal Control can be a good thing by spaying and nuetering the dogs not by genecide.

This post broke my heart and sickens my soul. :-(

I wasn’t comparing cows and other livestock to dogs
( at least that wasn’t my intent). I absolutely think that of all the creatures on Earth dogs are the most loyal, loving and compassionate, even more so than many humans. My point was that it’s a good thing for dogs that our culture reveres them so, unlike other cultures that see them as just livestock. Of course I elevate dogs over livestock, I was trying to say that it’s seems hypocritical that just because some animals don’t bond with us and aren’t all warm and fuzzy that we don’t consider that they have feelings also. And yes I’ll continue to eat meat, that’s were the hypocrisy kicks in.

    How very sad.
Maybe a boycott of china made pet toys?

  13. The SI Bunch (diamond, shilo, moon, katie, shady, thunder, and strutter)

I agree that what goes on in china and asia with dogs is atrocious. But what goes on with livestock here is just as bad. No, I’m not a vegatarian, was for years until I had children. However, I disagree about cows and pigs being able to bond with humans. Pigs are very smart and as loyal as dogs. And I raised 3 calves to adulthood as a kid. They knew their names, knew me, and would rub me and lick me like a cat or dog. Of course, these animals were exceptional. They were bottlefed since their mothers died in delivery so their bond to me was as a parent animal. But I felt as loved by them then as I do my dogs today.

  14. Eru

they are also happening in philippines

  15. Daisy

This is really, really horrible. Sometimes I just get so shocked and depressed about the world. It feels overwhelming. I just don’t understand hurting any innocent animal. :(

  16. Tim Case

Aren’t 3 to 4 million dogs and cats put to death every year in shelters in the US? I understand objecting to the killing of animals for any reason including population control reasons, but to wag the finger at China while keeping quiet about things at home, seems a bit hypocritical.

  17. Horst Hoefinger

    Hi Tim,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, there are about 4 million animals being killed each year in the U.S., but if you read the blog on a daily basis you’ll know we most certainly are not keeping quiet about it.

I post about the plight of rescue dogs on a daily basis. I posted the story about China because it also needed to be brought to light, to make people aware of what’s happening.

In no way does that take away from what is happening in our own country, or does it wag a finger at China. It simply lets people know what is happening in other countries, and if we can in any way help than I think it’s important to post.

  18. Jennifer

I sent my email off. Now will add these pet owners to my prayer list and know that one day these folks are going to have to account for their horrific actions.

Thanks Horst for keeping us in the loop.

    Jen

  19. Jessica

Sent my email, hope it isnt too late. My heart is breaking for these innocent animals being killed, and for what reason is this done? Do they not understand the horror? I hope we are able to stop this.

  20. bleu

THIS IS HORRIBLE!!!!!! Those poor inoccent animals that aren’t doing anything to harm humans!!! So they’re basiclly killing your dog if you don’t kill your dog? Horrible. Just. Plain. Horrible. And please, what if they have pets, they don’t kill them?!
