The Pound Is Full, Save Me!
Horst Hoefinger

The Mahoning County Dog Pound in Youngstown, OH is overflowing with dogs. There are many that have run out of time, without immediate adoption they will be put down.

If you’re looking to adopt please consider one of their sweet pups. Here’s what you need to do.

Please call the pound to place your name on the dog (ID# of dog REQUIRED) P# 330.740.2205 (prompt 1 or 2). Then contact Canine Crusader via email.

The pup above is Bruce, he’s a very scared GS who came into the shelter as a stray on August 31st. The list of dogs in need is way too long to post, go to Mahoning’s Petfinder page to view all the pics and information. Please post and crosspost, it’s greatly appreciated.

It is so sad that so many wonderful dogs and cats are ending up in pounds and shelters mostly due to the economy. So many have died and will die because of such hard times. It is even sadder that owners are just turning some out to take care of themsleves and some may make it and a lot do not, be it lack of food, fresh water, shelter or being abused by passer byers and hit by cars. At least if they take the time to take them to a shelter, they have a chance for a new beginning. It jusy breaks my heart. And maybe some of this can be avoided if owners have their pets spayed and neuerted. And one very important thing is turn yourself over to God’s control and he will be there. For so long so many haven’t prayed or been to church. I was in a homeless situation for over two years, I had a job but did not make enough to get back in a place. And I finally gave God complete control of my life. Things are still hard at times and money is tight but God brought me back to a place to call home and brought me and my pets back together. He took two home with him, but they both had lived long lives, 12 and half years and shy of 14 years and these were large breeds, GS and Rotti. But he did bring me back when nobody on earth could and I could not. This country and others have been away from Christ far too long. A lot came back to him during 9/11, but some drifted away again after the horror and fear wore off. It is time to come back again. I will cross post to my network and see what I can do to help save these poor babies lives. And I urge everyone else woh reads this web site to do the same. Too many companion animals are dying.

I feel bad for all dogs in shelters, I just don’t know why they zero in on this ONE. There are TONS of other shelters. I just don’t get it. Seriously.

Hi Jet…I post about dogs from different shelters and rescues around the country. It just happened that I rec’d an email from someone Friday morning about the Mahoning Pound so I put it up.

If you follow the blog, which I hope you do, you’ll see posting about dogs from all over.

Wow Jet. Could it be that this one is clearly in DIRE straights? As the story outlines, they are full and out of room. Not all shelters are.
