An abandoned baby boy was saved thanks to a dog who looked after him like he was one of her newborn puppies.

Here’s the amazing story from CNN.

It’s pretty scary when a stray dog has more sense and compassion than a human mother-
(I have always been in favor of human spaying and neutering- then the can “Play” all they want without involving a baby!)
    Go Doggie!!

  2. Mollydog

Good dog! And I totally agree about the spaying and neutering of humans. Animals are more responsible parents than many humans. Case in point the previous post about the idiots that forgot their 16 year old dog in the car and left it to die. This dog is far more sensible than they are.

  3. Nero and Homer

What a Mother dog, she is a lesson in caring and compassion to a lot of human mothers.
Isn’t this how Rome got its start? Romulus and Remus, deserted by their mother in infancy, are taken in by a she-wolf, fed and raised with her own pups, then found one of the greatest empires of all times …..In modern times it’s not wolves anymore but their descendants, compassionate stray dogs. Let’s keep an eye on the little boy!

  4. bob and pita & Teddy

Isn’t this absolutely amazing! Once again, while we blindly let dogs be destroyed while everyone looks the other way, our underestimated, undervalued and underappreciated dogs are doing god’s work. They truly are the angels among us! The mother who abandoned the baby, without hesitation should be dismembered and be fed to the lions at the local zoo.

  5. Chugs and Tramp

The compassion, care and sense the mother dog shown to the baby boy is fantastic. Yet you talk of “(I have always been in favor of human spaying and neutering- then the can “Play” all they want without involving a baby!)” Where is the compassion for the baby’s mother? We live the “good” life here in the USA where in “GOOD” homes children and teens are molisted by dads, moms, stepdads, stepmoms and other family members . I am a survivor of child molistation, MY heart goes out to the 14 year old mother!

  6. Sunni's Mommy

that is totally awesome!!! i’ve seen it first hand how a dog will take children and care for them. me and sunni live with two boys, one seven and one three, and she protects them like she was there mother. she barks if they go near the street, she sniffs them all over after a bath. ad one day, when the seven year old got hurt outside, it was her barking for us that let us find out.
this story is amazing. millions of bones to this dog.

  7. Sir Nickolas

We should honor this great dog with a Dogster Recognition of Heroic Citizenship Award for exemplary behavior above and beyond the regular thinking of an ordinary dog!!!

We should award and recognize every dog that has done great and exceptional acts above their behavioral pardon the pun “pay grade” especially in line with the new challenges about breed intolerance’s.

  8. Caspers MOM

wow this is really a great!! it just proves that dogs have so many similar genetics to humans than most think! that’s why they are true to us!

she looks like such a sweet dog with those gorgeous brown eyes!

    that is one lucky baby!
there was a story like this one about a year or 2 ago here in the us… somewhere in the west coast if my memory serves me right!

i sure hope the dog has a good home herself and good people that care for her!

Wow what an amazing story. What a tale for the boy to tell while he grows up, as well.
