Eagles Sign Vick
Horst Hoefinger

It’s official, the Eagles have signed Vick to a two-year contract. I think Kate Woodviolet from the LA Pet Rescue Examiner sums it up best.

Philadelphia Eagles President Joe Banner announced Thursday night that the team has signed disgraced former Atlanta Falcon and admitted dog killer Michael Vick to a two-year contract.

It is unclear how Vick can be eligible to sign a two-year deal if his reinstatement is only conditional at this time. It also calls into question whether Goodell and the NFL, instead of determining Vick’s future based on his conduct during the initial six-week period, were simply waiting to see if any NFL team wanted Vick before committing the league to a full reinstatement.

The Eagles announced the move on the website via the column “On the Inside” written by Dave Spadaro, under the breathless headline “Yes, It’s True! Vick Is An Eagle.” The brief article contains few details on the deal, although Spadaro gushes that the news “certainly is exciting, thrilling, shocking.” Spadaro does not once mention Vick’s conviction, nor the specific crimes to which he pled guilty. Such omissions go far toward explaining why so many people across the nation are still unaware of the extent of Vick’s admitted brutality towards his own dogs, as well as to family pet dogs he and his friends placed in the ring with fighting dogs because, according to a 2008 USDA report, they “thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to [Vick's] Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs.”

Also helping to promote widespread misconceptions that Vick only “fought a few dogs” is the fact that throughout his legal odyssey Vick himself has only publicly acknowledged committing “immature acts” and, more recently, “terrible mistakes.” Even today, comments left on the Eagles website by fans who support the Vick signing insist, incorrectly, that Vick only fought dogs, rather reflecting an understanding of the fact that in addition to putting pet dogs in the ring with trained fighters, Vick also both participated in killing and conspired to kill at least thirteen of his own dogs by various means including shooting, hanging, drowning, electrocution and, in one case, viciously slamming the dog’s body to the ground; acts that NFL Commissioner Goodell once characterized as “not only illegal, but also cruel and reprehensible.” Apparently Goodell’s opinion of killing dogs by various torturous means has changed.

I will not say anything… OMG. I have to!! LISTERN VICK. You are a terrible man!!! How COULD you even THINK about football again?!?! I’m not saying you are bad in football, but you should STAY in JAIL… D:< I’m very mad right now, Mr. Vick… PLEASE leave PUPPIES and DOGS alone!! And look at poor Leo… He is now a a certified therapy dog!!!! Did you think your “Killers” would turn up like that?!!? Wow!! Leo SURE is a evil killer pup!!! You better fight him!! Oh, and have you seen my pal Ace? He’s so mean, he could LICK me to death!! Oh, Dogster, I am sorry for my rant… I truley am, but… I HAD to get this OUT

  2. Carol

Ok people, it’s time to put your money where your mouths are. Let the Eagles’ sponsors know that you will no longer be buying their products. Money talks!

  3. Cathy Tibbits

    This makes me sick.

  4. Mollydog

I suppose the only thing we can hope for now is that during the course of a game Vick sustains a catastrophic injury, one that would kill him or better yet paralyzie him for life. Some of those PETA people can get pretty radical, maybe one will take a shot at him. At the very least I’d like to see booing and jeering so raucous they have to stop the game and take him off the filed. Maybe someone will dump a bucket of blood on him. People need to make his life in public miserable any way they can and harass the Eagles with letters and other means so they would have no choice but to cut him. His life needs to be made a living hell, like the hell he put those innocent dogs through.

  5. jim

One thing we can do is as dog-lovers boycott the eagles and their corporate sponsors!

I thought this said everything JUST the right way and how I feel.
But this is a test….a test to be heard….A test to put your money where your mouth is.
Will people really allow it…yes he is on the team nothing can be done about that BUT the question is will we sit back and eat out chili fries and drink our beer and cheer on football…..or will we be heard….will there be just a handful out front protesting? I hope that just like this last election ….people will stand up and be heard.

  7. Ddraig

We can only hope Mr. Vick ’s contract includes the right of the Eagles to torture him to death if he loses a game.

  8. Barbara, Tipper, Oreo and Lady

I think it is disgrace for the NFL to let Vick play ball again. And no mention of the horrible acts he commited in Dog Fighting. I think all of us animal, dog and cat lovers should make it well known loud and clear that we are not happy about this.It really amazes me at how any NFL team could sign this disgrace of a human to a contract. so many of our southern dogs goes north to be rescued and new homes, that every sing person in the state should boy cock the signing of Michael Vick. He is a disgrace to the human race. He has never sowed no remorse openly about what he did. It is a sad day that NFL signs this man to a contract to play ball again. I am very angry about it. I would love to turn a pack of fighting dogs a lose in the stadium where they play and make vick face them and see how he feels once they get done with him.

  9. Olga Diaz

Goodell is just as bad as Vick, they are a couple of heartless, materialistic morons. I hope the Eagles lose every game they play but must of all i hope that football fans boycott the team. Hit them in the wallet, that’s all they care about.
PS i don’t think Vick deserves a second chance, let’s reserve those for the dogs he didn’t kill.

  10. Stacey

how do we contact the sponsors? I live in Philadelphia and think it is horrible and can not believe the Eagles have signed Vick. I am a animal lover and a football lover but this is something I will not support. The things he has done are so horrible I cry when I think about it. Banner, Lurie and Reid should be ashamed of themselves for bringing this piece of sh*t to our city!

  11. Agnes' Dad

You know what would start to restore my belief that anyone who is involved with the NFL has any class or deserves any respect? If just one player, preferably from the Eagles, came out and publicly stated that they refuse to play on the same team, field, or in the same league as this monster.

  12. Katie

Personally, I have already begun my letter writing campaign to companies that sponsor the NFL and have informed them that I will no longer be purchasing their products. Just today I purchased a different brand of diapers than I normally purchase. They may not pay any attention to me, but at least I am still saying my piece and backing it up with actions.

  13. SH

We live in South Jersey which is crazy with Eagles fans. As soon as I heard this news during last nights game, I went upstairs, gathered up all the dogs’ Eagles Bandanas, leashes, toys, outdoor flags, etc and dumped them all right in the trash!!! It is an embarrassment to even live in the surrounding Philly area. I am so disgusted and disappointed in the Eagles organization. I will not be a supporter of this franchise any more. I really like Ddraig’s idea!

  14. Kim

I am not a person who holds grudges, does not believe in forgivenss, or does not believe that a person who has committed egregious crimes cannot change and atone for their crimes. Some people can and many have; MV has not been before or now one of those people. Just because someone has done their time, does not mean they have paid for their crime. It means they were caught and punished under the legal system per our laws. MV has never truly been remorseful for his crimes; he has only shown remorse for getting caught. If he really wanted to end dogfighting and take it as a cause (not do commercials for the Humane Society and get paid because his agent is trying to better his image), he would have told the prosecutors who, what, when, where the dog fighting rings were, who was running them, and how the chain of communication for these crimes takes place. Yes, he would have spent more time in jail, but if he wanted to atone, he would have accepted his punishment. I would have even been fine if he had plea bargained his time down for giving this information, as the information would have been worth the bargain.

I would like to ask each and every person to please look at the Eagles football schedule and take the time to consider joining and organizing appropriate law abiding protests and travel to those games and let your voices be heard . I would ask that each and every person, consider engaging in thoughtful constructive letter writing campaigns to the NFL and the Eagles. Now is a time to act responsibly and intelligently and make our voices heard firmly and clearly. Shouting matches, name calling, and hysterical fits of anger or fights do not appropriately garner the attention that is needed for this situation to have the true and correct attention paid to it. Such unruly demonstrations and fits of anger simply makes those on both sides of this horrible issue look foolish, solves nothing, and garners media attention at the level of Brittany
Spears. If we really want to make our voices heard, intelligent letter writing and emails to sponsors letting them know that their support of the Eagles/NFL in light of Michael Vick will cause you to not patronize their products. Letters to the editor of your local newspaper with the subject facts well researched and stated intelligently with your opinons are best. Kate is correct, there are too many people that still do not know the gravity of his crimes and that these were hardly “mistakes,” but horrid premeditated crimes.

Let us all help get this story out and be intelligent about making sure it gets heard even though our anger makes us want to lash out. Let us all act and protest in ways that will honor the dogs we so love so that we can help others to know what we do, that dogs, cats, etc. are feeling, thinking, intelligent, loving family members and that cruelty such as dogfighting will be tolerated no more than we would tolerate fight clubs set-up for our children.

    Thanks for listening

  15. Cherry

How do we find out who the sponsers are for the games when we do not live in the area? I think an email campagn to each sponser would help get the attention of what the Eagles or any other team who signs him has done. If we say we are not going to buy their products again because they are supporting the team will get them in their pockets. This includes cars, beer, electronics etc. Dogster would you follow up and put the names in an article for us so we can make our feelings known?

If we do this kindly and not send emails that are abusive it will get their attention.

  16. PROUD VICK HATER

I agree with “Agnes Dad”…IF there was ONE decent member of the Eagles team…that person should refuse to be associated with this Vick thug! Once again the NFL lives up to its reputation…..(N)etwork (F)or (L)osers. I am also sickened that Vick along with his disgusting team will be in my city for a pre-season game. I hope BIG John Henderson goes for the jugular and gives Slick Vick a taste of the pain he inflicted on those poor innocent dogs!!!!

  17. Abby

Here is contact info for the Eagles themselves and their corporate partners…

    http://origin-www.philadelphiaeagles.com/fanzone/ ContactUs.html

A listing of their corporate sponsors:
    http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/corporatep artners.html

Just a word of caution when emailing however. I know that we are All BEYOND livid right now, but a simple, well written, non threatening letter is always the best route when it comes to these types of things. I’m saying this from personal experience. If we want them to listen, we must be civil.

Saying that you will no longer be a supporter of the Eagles or their sponsors is one thing, but threats or wishes of death or bodily harm or anything of the sort to any of them is a bad move and will not get us anywhere but ignored.

  18. Tammy

I am completely upset about this. I have been since hearing that the NFL was going to allow Vick to be a free agent. I was actually hoping that no team would hire him, but no such luck.

We won’t be watching NFL football this fall. I don’t normally get on board with boycotts, but this one… well, I just can’t see watching a sport that would hire someone with a record like Vick’s. It’s NOT OK with me. If I had children (which I don’t) I would be upset to have to explain why someone who did what he did to animals, would be allowed to “star” in the NFL and make millions!

  19. Jake's Mom

I was in Philadelphia today and was astounded to hear a lot of negative reaction to this scumball’s signing. There are reports of season ticket holders dumping their tickets on Ebay and Craigslist. There was a protest today during the news conference…and I was happy to see that the PA SPCA supplied the signs. At least they see Vick for what he is, not like the HSUS.

Also I would caution folks who want to show up at games to protest to think very carefully before doing so. Philadelphia sports fans have a deserved reputation as some of the worst in sports and I have already seen comments made about what would happen to animal activists who came to the Linc. I personally have seen a car set on fire and a fan of the Giants pushed over a railing at the old stadium, all in the name of football. Please exercise caution if you choose to go.

I personally will wait until the Eagles make the trip to the Meadowlands in December to play the New York Giants. Trust me, bring that thug to Jersey, we’ll make him feel right at home, lol.

  20. Murphy (Smurphy)

We are ashamed to be living in Philadelphia right now, I’m going to be buying Murph a Michael Vick chew toy ASAP! Way to go Philadelphia Eagles, way to disgrace yourselves

  21. Abbie

vick doesnt deserve to wake up in the morning and breath the same air we all breath, also the things those poor dogs had to indure should be things he should indure and see how it feels to be mistreated.he is scum. mom hates people that abuses animals. so karma should play a big role in how vicks life will end. ten times more than those poor dogs had. i didnt believe what he said on his interview. what a liar. he dont deserve anything good to happen to him.SCUM…..

  22. Mary(Paxton & Idgie)

I can not believe he was signed…..All of us animal lovers have to hang togethere and boycot the Eagles. A complete boycot, so not watch the games or have anything to do with the team. When revenue goes down, maybe they will understand. I am so glad we all feel the same. Go Murphy chew your Michael Vic toy…..enjoy….

  23. Daisy

I live in South Jersey also and I hate that the Eagles signed Michael Vick. To be honest I never watch football and already didn’t care about the Eagles but this really bothers me.

I really agree with Jake’s Mom though, that the Philadelphia fans are very harsh and I would warn anyone that plans on protesting the games at the Linc to be very careful.

  24. Max aka Gator Lips the Swamp Dawg

We will Boycott anything dealing with Vicks. And that is just how it is…

  25. Bailey

I think this is terrible. When I hear him say how he has to live with the embarrassment and shame of what he did, all I can think of is that he is living and how many dogs did he cause the death of? The ones that did not die were scarred physically and emotionally by him. Plus he acts like he was not personally involved. He says he should have stopped this from happening, like he was in the background. I will certainly not watch any game the Eagles play in. It will be interesting to see how many sponsors back out of games they play in too.

  26. Dixie BlackPearl

Not surprised that a team from a state known for its horrendous puppy mills would give this animal a “second chance”… I will be OUTSIDE of Soldier Field on November 22nd when they play the Chicago Bears, showing my support for the dogs!

There is now a group of dog lovers, including many from Dogster and from around the entire globe, on Facebook. Look up Dog Lovers against the Philadelphia Eagles on Facebook. We’re furious, disgusted, and we’re mobilising globally. There were over 500 people joined in just a few hours yesterday.

  30. lesliek

what is wrong with nfl and the eagles?

why would you want someone who’s tortured animals on your team and representing what you stand for?

kids look up to football players… i’m so disgusted.

  31. Nero and Homer

It’s all about money, never anything else. Vick tortured and mercilessly killed animals for money. He plays football for money, a team signed him up for money. If you have only Dollar signs in your eyes you are blind to everything else. Greed is one of the seven deadly sins. Can we let this happen? It’s sickening.

  32. Laura

It’s disgusting, and we’re boycotting the entire NFL in our house this season. He should have never been reinstated – the NFL should be ashamed!

  33. Natcho Cheese

    UGH GAG ME.
    Boycott!

  34. Linda

I am very sad and sickened by the signing (shame on you Eagles) of that thing called michael vicks, can you even consider him human, I don’t think so.
As far as rehab, I do not think something with this kind of character flaw can be rehabilitated. He is not sorry he did this only that he got caught. NO, he does NOT deserve a second chance. Did he give those poor dogs one? SICK, SICK, SICK!!!
DO NOT SUPPORT IN ANY WAY, ANY ONE OR ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THE EAGLES OR VICKS! BOTTOM LINE…MONEY TALKS!

He is a sick pig ! Boycott the whole lot involved.
I do find it disturbing that we are warned to be careful about the fans in that area. Is there something in their water that makes them heartless morons?

  38. Koda

What truly tyicks me off the most about this was the NFL hid the fact that Vick was allowed to return until AFTER season ticket holders paid. Now I have season tickets to go see the Giants and I would have gladly told them where they could put my seats if they had issued a statement saying he was allowed to return prior to paying for my non-refundable tickets. Anyway I’m not going to any of the games I think I will just stubhub the tickets. But I feel totally duped and the Giants are going to be damn sorry next season when I refuse to pay for tickets AND I was even willing to pay the 5000 per seat new stadium fee. I guess they just lost about 30000 dollars. Jerks.

  39. Bouncer's Dad

This is crap. What’s next. Another prime example of what is really messed up in our country. I’m done with the NFL and football.

  40. Jersey's Daddy

Ok its time to stop being so PC about all this garbage. Michael Vick is a horrible human being that should not only burn in hell, but hang to his death in a torturing way. Its trash like this, the reason why pitbulls have such a bad name. When these dogs were the poster boys/girls for urban wastelands, was when this breed got the worst rap. Its ghetto trash we need to weed out, not these amazing creatures. I’m a proud pitbull owner, and its something that really needs to change. Get these dogs outta the jungle and into loving homes where they deserve to be loved. Screw the NFL and Michael Vick..his lies of changing are just that.

  41. sara

All this talk about Vick being a spokesperson for the Humane Society of the United States is a turning out to be a put on of sorts.
Last week there was an article, in the sports section, of the S.F.Chronicle and it says, “Vick’s visit to a suburban Atlanta community center was largely off limits to the very neighborhood it was supposed to be helping…………only 55 people and one media crew were allowed inside. An A.P. reporter and photographer were among the media bansished by police.
Most people who live in the largely black neighborhood southeast of Atlanta were unaware of Vick’s appearance.
‘Not too many people knew he was going to be here” said Stan Sutton. ‘There would have been a lot more people here. The whole Eastside would have been here.’ ”
The words coming out of Vick’s mouth are very practiced and it doesn’t feel, the least bit, like it’s coming from his heart. Like I’ve said before on this subject, I think he’s saying whatever he has to say so he can play football again. He’s a con artist.

  42. Amber

    Question: Why?

The answer is VERY simple: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  43. Anne Margaret Mayberry ... Midge, Pearl and Nate

I think it was summed up best on a t-shirt I saw recently… conVICKt!

  44. Birdy

He should be a destitute beggar left to wither in the streets. Scum of the earth.

  45. Cindy

The Philadelphia Eagles are idiots…what could they possibly be thinking? Michael Vick is forever an evil soul…I will be boycotting the NFL and their sponsors…

  46. Patti

It is my God given right…
Andrew Young tried to get Vick to go to church yet he wouldn’t go.
    I understand to a certain degree…
What is it that you don’t understand?
He spends $30,000 a month to support 7 friends and relatives including his mom & brother, 3 children and their mothers, one being a former girlfriend and his fiance.
Has anyone thought of living in a smaller house, not supporting a former girlfriend, brothers, and friends.Supporting his children is fine, then he won’t be a dead beat dad.
Has anyone heard of getting a job?
Working with either the Humane Society or the ASPCA. What are they thinking? Isn’t that a little like putting the cart before the horse? I’m glad that none of my money goes to either organization. For if it did it would certainly stop in a hearbeat. So what that he’s trying to make amends.
    Second Chances
Someone said that the Eagles don’t need Vick, but he needs them, it’s all about money. Vick needs the money. I guess to support all those people he’s supporting.
I have no sympathy for Michael Vick. He’s supposed to be a role model for children. Some role model. Go ahead and fight dogs only to kill them. That’s what Michael Vick did so it’s ok for you to do it too.
It’s a good thing that neither my husband nor I don’t watch football. We would definately not watch the Eagles, period, nor the team they are playing.
Give me a break Mr. Vick. You went to prison because you abused and killed loving and sincere animals. You tried to make plea agreements. I don’t trust you one bit. It’s a good thing that you will not be allowed to have another animal, ever. Would they consider a goldfish a pet? He’d probably find a way to abuse that too.
No Mr. Vick, you do deserve a second chance but not with football, not with any animal organization, nor owning so much as a goldfish.
Get a job at a fastfood restaurant, or a department store like the rest of us. Find out what it’s like to live on $ 6 or $7 like the rest of us instead of the millions you are making.
No Mr. Vick, I wouldn’t trust you as far as I can throw you, and I wouldn’t trust you to enough pet my dogs, let alone own another animal.

  47. Sammy, Vinnie and Casey's mom

Ugh. There are no words as to how I feel about this. I do like the idea from Barbara, Oreo, Tipper and Lady: Put Vick in an enclosed area with some of the “fighting” dogs (that he thought was so funny to watch them tear apart pet dogs) and let them HAVE AT Vick! Tear him to bloody pieces!
I’d buy tickets to see that!
    That would be justice!
But I’ll join the Dogster group against Michael Vick in the meantime…………
Boycott NFL and don’t buy the products that sponsor them, all the advertisers, every commercial, and let them know that!
And I didn’t know he was being paid to do commercials for the Humane society- OMD! They waste so much money as it is, on “gifts”, calendars, cards, etc, etc, making me wonder if ANY of the money I have donated to them goes to the animals!

  48. pop

Horst I am terrified and disgusted by his comeback… I feel like criminals are allowed to live normally again. we dogs are just like nothing thus . we don’t have a value , we are “things” and people lke Vick can go on torturing us , kill us and the world won’t move a finger .I am disgusted and feel so angry .
I will never by any heineken beers nor any other product of the eagles sponsor anymore. They are a shame and this guy is a shame. there are no words to describe him. there are petitions running on the web so please sign them. I don’t know if it will be of any use because there is money behind all this story as you guess and a lot of money I mean …. but we must show that we are here .

  49. Maggie

This makes me sick! I grew up with an old saying about dogs that goes something like this………….Once an egg sucker..always an egg sucker. Does anyone believe Vick will not return to his old ways? The only thing he regrets is getting caught and losing money. He has no guilt whatsoever for what he did!!

  50. pop

here’s the page of a group where you will find the eagles sponsors!

  51. thephillydog

I am ashamed to be a Philadelphian. Our city did not need this shame and disgust brought upon us by having the Eagles sign Vick, and I am shocked that Mayor Nutter gave them the nod of approval. It does all come down to money – Vick was/is a steal to the Eagles and they desperately need help right now. I hope that everyone’s individual campaign of protest against the Eagles and their individual corporate sponsors makes them regret their decision.

  52. fordogzsake

at first i was all about giving him another chance since he had put in his time, but now after learning a lot more about what he did and how he has acted since….

i agree with the poster saying, take your second chance away from football. you had your limelight and blew it. you are a cancer to the NFL and if they don’t cut you out, you will be a terminal tumor.

  53. THERESA AND SHAY

I WAS AT THE EAGLES GAME THURSDAY NIGHT WHEN WE LEARNED ABOUT VIC. I THINK ITS A DISCRACE. I LISTENED TO WHAT PEOPLE IN PHILLY WERE SAYING AND FROM WHAT I KNOW 75% DIDN’T LIKE IT AND THE REST DID BECAUSE ALL’S THEY WERE THINKING ABOUT IS WINNING A SUPER BOWL.FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS I WILL BE A GIANT’S FAN. I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS AT ALL.

  54. Vickie

Thank God the Bengals didn’t get Vic! That would have been the last straw! I feel sorry for Eagles fans. I wish they would boycott the games, but I know that won’t happen. I hope they will at least let their displease be known. Some people say he paid the price for what he did and we should let him move on, but I feel what he did goes to character. We want our sports heros to be of good character, what he did shows a disregard for life and that’s the worst character trait there is.

  55. Jeanne

I’m proud to live in America. If you say this than you can’t be mad when our country works the way it is suposed to. He paid for his crime and did his time. Now it is time to let him become a productive citizen. This is what our country was based on. I am extremely proud that at least one francise is living up to what I hold dear! America! Go Vick I hope that you take this chance to improve your life and have learned from your mistakes. EVERYONE DESERVES A 2ND CHANCE!!!!!!!

  56. Linda W.

Jeanne must not have any dogs. I am an American, and a Veteran, but I am NOT “proud” of America or the NFL in this case. I think you’d feel differently if you actually saw the torture, pain and death these dogs endured at the hand of Vick, in person.

  57. izmir veteriner

    I agree with jim

“… One thing we can do is as dog-lovers boycott the eagles and their corporate sponsors! …”

    Thanks

  58. another dog lover

I think this guy should be subjected to the same cold cruel treatment he subjected those dogs to and that would include hanging, electricution, shooting and getting slammed to the ground full force. He should be forced into the “ring” with a large untamed hungry lion and see how big and strong he feels then. He would know exactly how those poor pet dogs that he threw in the ring with his pits for entertainment felt. I’m amazed that this criminal will yet again be showered with millions that HE DOES NOT DESERVE !!!!!!!!!

  59. Pam Ernest

Did you know Vick attended his empathy class high on marijuana (he was tested that day)…Yeah, he feels real bad about what he did.

The dog in this video has more empathy than Michael Vick…

all i have to say is this..if all these people who say vick deserves a second chance actually saw or truly knew how these dogs suffered & cryed in pain & how they were scared & how many of them were burtally MURDERED, maybe they’d change there thinking on a second chance!!! vick doesn’t deserve anything but to go through a life of pure hell & the same abuse he put these dogs through!!!he says he only ran this dog fighting ring!!! YEAH, RIGHT!!! HE KILLED DOGS HIMSELF!!! vick makes me sick!!! i can’t stand him & if u look at him, hes not sorry at all. his eyes are cold & no remorse is in this waste of a human being!! when i still to this day, think of what those poor innocent dogs went through, i break down in tears!!! the pain he put them through is unforgivable & alot of those poor dogs didn’t get a second chance… well vick doesn’t deserve one either!!! u can believe i will be writing to people to tell them how i feel about this!!! it makes me sick that the nfl took him back!!! i love football, but i don’t feel the same towards it this season like i have in the past. this is just wrong!!! yes, i have made mistakes in my life, but hey, i never killed anyone!!! and to compare what i’ve done to what vick has done is just wrong!!! i was hooked on pain medication for years, o.k.? i’ll tell u all. i lived a lie for years. i hid the truth from everybody, including myself. i lied to my family when i had to borrow money off them, i lied when i lost my job, but then one day a friend jumped in & told my family the truth, that i was out of control & needed help. i got help, i still am gettin treatment, and i’m doing great today!!! i got my life back, a new job & i’m once again doing things & enjoying my life, clean. not one time trough my years of being addicted did my dog , droopy, ever suffer. she went to the vets, got her shots, was played with & very, very much loved!!! in alot of ways, droopy also saved my life. i looked at her one day & could see in her eyes, that although i was takin care of her, i could be doing more. well i’ll tell u, my droopy is so much happier now that her mommy is “back” we are closer than ever. the bond between us has become even stronger & i love her more than i can say!!! so, now u tell me that what i did even comes close to what vick did!!! nothing about it is the same!! yes, i got a second chance, but i sure has hell didn’t hurt or kill anybody!!! theres a big difference!!! so when people say to me, well u got a second chance…PLEASE!!! its not the same!!!! use your head!!! o.k. i’m done. i’m very sorry for takin up so much time!!! and i hope my friends at dogster will still hold me & droopy very dear to them & not hold against me my past. sept. 3 will be one year clean for me & i’m very proud of myself!!! i know vick can’t be proud of himself!!! killer, a cold blooded killer is all he is!!! no second chances for dog abusers & killers in my book!!!! NONE!!! thanks, lori & droopy!!!!!

I am disappointed the state didn’t file animal cruelty charges on Vick and rearrest him the second he stepped out of prison. He did time on federal dogfighting charges…he was never charged with animal cruelty.
If the state had stepped up, then we wouldn’t be having this discussion…because he’d still be in prison. Where he belongs.

just wanted to clarify. a previous comment mentioned Sick working with HSUS and ASPCA. I have seen nothing about Sick working with the A. Maybe a local agency? Everything I’ve read, heard has been about the HSUS giving Sick a platform. The HSUS will no longer get any support from me.

I have been a tried-and-true, lifelong Eagles fan, through decades of our team losing horribly or winning then blowing it in the playoffs. I’ve both cheered and booed them but always always ALWAYS was loyal to my Eagles. The key word there: “was.” There are things more important to me than loyalty, first and foremost the respect for the canine life. Michael Vick disgusts me and I will never root for the team he plays for, even if it’s “my” team.

  66. Love My Dogs

Lets’ not forget the torture, pain, suffering, death and scars that these animals endured. Michael Vick is a monster. The Eagles have shown us that they have no compassion for these innocent creatures. I own two AmStaffs/Pits and neither one of my dogs are aggressive, they wouldn’t know how to fight. He raised those dogs to fight or be killed. It’s sad to think that the proven facts are being discarded.

I HOPE HE IS INJURED, POSSIBLY PARALIZED SO WE CAN SAY OH THATS SO SAD…..NOT!

I think it is a disgrace that Vic is back on the team, the pain and suffering he caused to these animals tears me up inside. And believe me, I will no longer watch the Eagles play. You can not change a dog killer overnigt. Dogs are not meant to be tortured , I rescue dogs and all they want is love and attention.
And I also have a pit, she is the most loving dog. He simply just makes me sick!!!!!
