Partygoer Gives Dog CPR
Horst Hoefinger

A woman in Huntington Beach, CA. is credited with saving the life of a Chihuahua using CPR. She learned the technique by watching it on television.

Krisna Torres, 35, and her husband were the first to arrive at the birthday party Sunday for their friend’s 6-year-old daughter. When they got to the house, they noticed two dogs on top of a treehouse in the backyard.

Dog owner, Maricruz Cisneros, says she placed the dogs there and put chairs in front of the entrance to prevent them from running into the street.

Not long after Torres and her husband arrived, a young girl was heard screaming for help.

Charlene Cisneros says she checked on the dogs and was horrified to find one of them — a Chihuahua named Chicuaes — dangling by its leash and choking.

Krisna sprang into action and began breathing into the animal’s mouth.

“Krisna just saw the dog on the floor, picked her up and just started breathing mouth-to-mouth, putting her fingers in,” Charlene told KTLA.

Krisna says the dog’s breath wasn’t the best, but she only cared about saving Chicuaes’ life at that point in time.

And she did just that.

Chicaues gave a gasp and then began breathing after about two minutes of rescue breathing.

The dog was checked out at the vet and given a clean bill of health.

So glad that lady was there and the dog is OK! But I can’t figure out why anyone would tie their dogs up on top of a treehouse, seems like a recipe for disaster.

Good work on Krisna’s part. I was thinking just this morning about learning canine CPR and along comes this story. Amazing that she learned it from TV.
It never ceases to amaze me how heroic some people can be and how utterly and incredibly stupid and irresponsible others can be. That woman outta be slapped for putting her dogs in danger like that. I hope she’s not as irresponsible with her daughter.

I just saw this version of the story posted in a forum. It’s funny how different they are.

At least they both have one thing in common: a hero for that lucky little Chi. :)

Good Hooman, Krisna Torres! I might even share my prized Dingos with ya! A heroic deed fur sure!

  5. Daddy's "mom"

Thank dog Mrs. Torres was there, poor dog; I can’t imagine why someone would tie a dog up in a tree house, that’s what they make crates for.

the dogs need to be taken away, such irresponsible owner!
    horrific.

How utterly horrifiying and disturbing it must have been to see that poor dog dangling by it’s leash. What kind of retard would put dogs ON TOP OF A TREE HOUSE?! Thank God Krisna Torres was there, I’m sure the un-responsible owners wouldn’t have known what to do. I think Ms. Torres should take the dogs, she obviously cares.

I am so happy to hear that the dog was saved, that is the most important thing! My guess would be that the dog will not be tied up like that again and I am thinking that the telling of this story will make some people learn CPR for pets, I sure am going to check it out! Way to go for jumping into action like that! :)
