Help Meatball Kick Cancer
Yesterday I did a post on the upcoming Bark For Life event, a fundraiser to help fight human and animal cancers. When I was looking for a picture to use I searched on Dogster, that’s how I found Meatball.
Meatball is a Dogster member and is in the fight of his life after recently being diagnosed with cancer. He has a cancerous bone tumor, just beneath the surface on his face, close to his eye. Meaty is in otherwise great health and is a good candidate for surgery.
The treatment isn’t going to be easy and the cost for Meaty’s surgery and aftercare is very expensive, estimated to be around $5,000. His pup pals got together to have a fundraising auction, they have lots of great donated items to win.

We love Meaty, he was one of our very first friends here on Dogster….we are sending healing thoughts and prayers for him!
We’re keeping Meaty in our thoughts and prayers.
Any admins in private groups out there can make a Meaty thread or send a message directing them where to participate. From my understanding the quicker this is done the chances for being cancer free are good.
Please folks, Meaty needs the funds for his surgery and a lot of members have donated some nice items to his fund-raising auction. Stop by, make a bid, or even a donation, and help Meaty beat this thing. PLEASE. If you can’t, PLEASE say a prayer for him.

Thank you so much Horst for featuring our pal Meaty. He is a sweet friend & a bigger heart can not be found. We are hoping everyone who reads this visits his site. There are some great auction items…or just donate what you can. It all adds up and we need to get Meaty his surgery ASAP. Tell your friends…post in groups we are in a race. Meaty dear pal…you are in our prayers.

Thanks SO much, Horst, for putting Meaty’s story on the Blog again today!
Time is of the essence here if we’re going to save Meaty’s life & spare his family possibly losing him. The Auction is growing as is the fund, but there’s a long way to go and we need everyone who can to either contribute on the Home page of the site or donate something to the Auction site (it’s easy!…if our Mom can do it, anyone can, believe us!).
All of us have something we can contribute to the auction (you just take a picture of it, write a brief description & starting bid price & e-mail it to the address posted on Meaty’s site)…so look around your homes & find something for the Auction (people ARE bidding) or contribute what you can…every dollar counts!
Paws crossed tight that everyone will open their hearts and help this sweet dog get his surgery as soon as possible!

Thank you to Horst for getting Meatys story out to the mass of Dog Bloggers and thank you to all our friends, fur-iends, supporters, donors, bidders & cheerleaders.
There is no way we could have come close to doing this with out you all.
Most of all we would like to thank Baxter,MacKenzie & Tracey for the wonderful auction idea that started the ball rolling. They are a force to be reckoned with …… handling all donations,bids,payments to the vets ….. quite literally everything so that can focus on Meaty. It leaves us wondering how they manage to have a life outside of Meaty & shows us quite clearly how selfless they are.We could never thank them enough.
We are VERY close to having raised the cost of the actual surgery between monetary donations and bid amounts.. The rest of the expenses of course come for aftercare but we now have hope that we will indeed make it.
Meaty had a good day again yesterday after one bad on Tuesday. Thankfully the good are still seeming to outweigh the bad.
I have yet to see what kind of day today will be for him. He is snoozing in his favorite chair. Man can he snore!
