Cute Corgis Buddy And Nike Need A Home

It just so happens yesterday I did a post on dog owners getting rid of their senior dogs, and today I have two senior Corgis being given up because the family decided they can no longer give them enough attention.
TheĀ boys’ are being fostered until July 1st so we only have a few weeks to find them a home.
Nike is a 9-year-old pure breed pembroke welsh corgi sable and white, loves attention and walks, better suited with older kids. He’s up to date on all shots and very healthy.
Buddy is a 8-year-old pure breed sable and white, hates walks just loves to run, he is territorial with other dogs in his own home, best suited with a family with a big yard for him to run around. He may get nervous around other animals at first but will adjust.
Both are used to dog doors to go out and potty whenever they please. They have never been crated, just confined to one room when we leave.
We just cant give them the attention they need anymore and feel they deserve a better home. We live 20 miles north of Dallas, TX.
It is preferred that Buddy and Nike stay together. If it isn’t possible separating them will be considered. If you are interested in this adorable duo please send an email to Cait.

I truly hope someone adopts these precious boys! I would if I had room. This is such a frustration situation, I live near Dallas and love Corgis but I already have a full house.
I copy/pasted this article, the contact email to Cait and the URL to this article onto as many Corgi and Dog groups on Facebook.
Please, Jesus, let it work.
Hope these two guys can stay together. Thet have life long buddies. I still find it hard to understand how someone can keep dogs from puppies to their senior years then just give them up. The only home they have known gone. It is so sad.
I’d love to help but am in Pa. We are pretty full with 5 but have a large yard w/ dog door. If we were closer we might be able to help out.
Warning!!
Corgis shed like no other known dog…head’s up to netnicks
We have one, blind in one eye, drooping ears, but has the Corgi “shed” gene!!!
(God Bless ‘em!)
Great dogs- super loving…shed like h–l!
I know, Lilli sheds A LOT! But I would have my house covered in fur just so I could have my little girl. I love her so much. She is such a playful, happy and cuddly corgi. I encourage everyone who’s considering adopting a dog to look into Corgis! ;D
Thanks Emily-
Just wanted a warning out there!!
(Dark Star Armadillo is a cutie pie, hair and all)
Can’t give them the attention they need anymore?? WHY NOT??? What’s the problem???
I do not understand this???? Please explain in great detail why you can not give them attention???
What the hell is wrong with these people???
I hate that this is happening to Nike and Buddy and also don’t understand the ‘can’t give them attention’ reasoning. But I am glad they are trying to find them a good home instead of just taking them to the shelter. I pray they are able to stay together–it will be tough enough leaving the home they have known, much less to be parted from each other.
I truly do not understand how people can have dogs for many years and then all of a sudden they don’t have enough time for them????? How does this happen???? I have 3 dogs and could not imagine one day thinking hmmmmmmmm I don’t have enough time for you guys you need to go. This just frustrates me so much I hope they are able to find homes for these poor dogs.
It is just amazing to me the things people will do. You’ve loved them all their lives and now you can’t!!!! Makes absolutly no sense! I say this constantly but you should have to take a test to have a pet or a child!!!!!
Sorry to hear that you have to let your babies go. I sincerely hope in this day and time it doesn’t mean that your health is failing or that with the economics that you too are losing your home. The USA has far to many homeless 4 AND 2 legged “humans”. IF you cannot get a response, PLEASE e-mail me. I care full time for my mother and my ONE baby I have left Quetsycotial “Quetsy”, but do have a huge fenced yard and am your neighbor to the north. Take care and stay strong.
For some reason, the owner didn’t get Buddy and Nike to Cait (the foster mome) and took them to the pound. I hope someone loving comes to the pound and gives these guys a wonderful home.
I have 2 Corgis 4 years old and 5 years old, I can not understand how anyone with a Conscience could get rid of their dogs after such a long time. It breaks my heart. Our boys would be lost without each other, I would rather die then throw my boys away, I pray they find a home together.
FYI Brush your Corgi every day and it is amazing how little shedding takes place. My husband is disabled yet manages to brush them for 5 minutes every single day while I’m at work. if you love your furry friend it’s amazing what you can do for them, even the disabled…

Kristi,
If you know that they went to the pound for sure can you alert the local Corgi rescue group? Someone from the group could probably arrange to pick them up. Try this website:

Shame. Why do some people decide that they have no time anymore for their pets? You cannot do that with children and pets are no different.
