Ziggy wasn't too snuggly with me until my husband passed away. His heart always belonged to Jim. But once he figured out that his papa wasn't coming home, he became the sweetest little guy I could ever imagine. When I was sad, he'd crawl up into my lap and just lay there quietly lying as close as possible. When I nap, he's right there, too - we're back-to-back, and he'll sleep as long as I do. He is beside me no matter where we go. He watches out for dangerous things - big dogs, cars coming too fast, or loud construction projects and let's me know with a funny squeek that's a kind of signal, that I need to look out. So long as I live, I'll always treasure this little dog with a big heart.

My mixed breed puppy Pascal likes to play-bite a bit too much still so he gets scolded and when he does he burrows his nose into you to show he is sorry. I have also taught him to give me kisses when I say it in Spanish, "Dame un besito." ("Give me a kiss.") And always wanting to play, he jumps on the couch with you and stands over or on you with his toy so you can join in on his fun!

When I'm sitting in a chair, Mudge will sit next to me and lean his big, sweet head against my chest. (Just to give you all some perspective, he's a St. Bernard, so his head reaches my chest level when we're both sitting.) He'll just lean there and let me hug and pet him for a while. He's normally a pretty active guy for a Saint, so I'm sure those moments are truly affection. We call them "Mudge hugs." Now, if I'm sitting on the floor, it's a whole different story---then I become a couch! He just plops his big ol' butt right in my lap like he weighs no more than his shih tzu brother!

My shiba inu, Tetsuya, loves to cuddle on the couch with me. He likes to fall asleep on the couch while I pet him. That is until my other shiba inu, Deshi, jumps on the couch wanting to play. :)

My young westie, Riley shows his love by the way he snuggles. All I have to do is open my arms, like you would to a child who is running to you, and he will come right up snuggle close and lay against my chest and look up at me with the most trusting eyes. You can feel his love and gratitude. (He is a rescue pup)

MAMA always carries me with her since I am her Service Dog but if I stay at home the Mr BARNEY is on one side of the door waiting and I am on the other side waiting. When MAMA opens the door she can not step foot in the house unless we get head rubs and body massages and we give lots of Kisses all over MAMA'S face when she bends down and her arms too. Then we let her in the door. She sits in her Chair and I jump up in her lap giving more kisses and Mr BARNEY has to be picked up. Mr BARNEY always misses kissing MAMA's Cheeks coz he is blind but he always gets MAMA on the nose. MAMA says Mr BARNEY'S Kisses are special .

My Nan passed away just over 3 years ago now and understandably my mum still gets very upset when she thinks of her. A couple of times we've seen real emotion and love from Tyler when my mum has been crying. He sits up in his bed, looks straight at my mum, goes over to her and rests his head on her lap. It really is as if to say "It's ok, i'm here for you". It's a really special thing to witness as you can just feel that deep bond that Ty has with us. He's often let me hug him for what seems like hours, he doesn't budge, he lets me wrap my arms around his neck and he puts his head over my shoulder and i just feel loved. He's a very special boy to me.

My first Vizsla Ginger had a stuffed hotdog toy that became her "puppy". Even though she was spayed before her first heat she mothered and washed and gingerly carried her hotdog "puppy" everywhere just like a mother dog would to a real puppy. (mind you most other stuffed toys got shredded in under five minutes) She would tuck her "puppy" safely in a corner when she had to leave it to go outside and faithfully return to it when she came in. She would never leave it with my husband but I was considered trustworthy enough to babysit her "puppy" and she would bring it and gently pup it on my lap. Eventually we had to "wean" the hotdog "puppy" when she became overly protect of it around my husband. Oh she was so distraught!
