Tea Party Giveaway

A few weeks ago the generous folks at The Honest Kitchen gave us three boxes of their yummy treats to give a way. They have just introduced a new product, Lithe Tea, and have been kind enough to offer a canister for a giveaway.
LITHE TEA
A nutritional herbal tea for dogs, to support healthy mobility, bone and joint function.
Adj. Flexible, Mobile, Nimble, Lissom.
The ingredients in Lithe help to support normal joint health, flexion and movement. A good quality diet is essential for the over all health of the whole body including the musculoskeletal system. Lithe Tea is intended as a supplement to a wholesome, natural diet – not an alternative to it.
Lithe Tea was created for aging pets, those with pre-existing bone or joint concerns, and those who are genetically prone to mobility problems. Lithe helps support normal joint health, flexion and movement. It contains an aromatic blend of plants that deliver powerful anti-inflammatory, circulatory and mobility-centered benefits. The tea is the first of four healing teas The Honest Kitchen plans to launch this year.
If you would like to win a canister of tea leave a comment in the comment section sharing why your dog would like to have a tea party. Does your pup have joint issues or is s/he just getting older? Since Lithe Tea is geared for a certain group of pups please only enter if your dog falls into one of the categories, we want to make sure whoever wins really can use it. The contest will run today through Wednesday, May 20th when I will choose one winner.

At 3 years old, Shadow was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. I have him on every supplement that I have heard about to help him feel better. Unfortunately, hip replacement is out of the question as having both done would be approximately $16,000 – which we don’t have. Maybe this new product from Honest Kitchen could assist making him more comfortable!
I run an animal rescue in Savannah, GA. We have a 9 year old Aussie that has come to reside with us until we find her a foster home. I would love to sample this product and see if that helps make it easier for her to get around. Thanks!
Hi, I am the incredible Mr. Wuffles, and I write and publish my on dog newsletter. I would love to sample this product and publish how much I love it in the next edition. I would be more than happy to send a copy of the newsletter to both Dogster and to Lithe Tea!
Baxter began showing signs of hind end weakness a few months ago, after being a healthy, active pup for six years. After extensive testing by his regular vet, a neurologist and a holistic vet, there is still no conclusive answers for his problem – and no treatment. We must assist him in getting up, walking and with stairs now – his body may be failing but his mind is active and he wants to enjoy life, and we will do anything to try to help him.Traditional medicines did not work, and he is currently on Chinese herbs, receives weekly acupuncture and goes to hydrotherapy in the hopes that he can regain some strength in his hind legs and be able to walk normally again, or at the very least not get any worse. We have tried so many things to preserve his mobility and would love to try Lithe Tea, we use HK Force and Embark and love their products. Thank you.
My dog Sharky is 12 years old and showing signs of hip dyslexia as it is getting harder for her to move around as well along with losing control in her right leg when she is standing stil and she will topple over to the side. Thanks – would love to try this!
We’d love a tea party for Daisy Mae! We do everything we can just assure her new back stays healthy! And a gentle tea party with tea party cookies would be just perfect!
I would love to win a sample of this.My one and a half year old pup,Miley had medial patella luxation surgery 2 months ago on her right knee, and has to have it on the left knee within the year. This would be great for her.
Thank you~
My rat terrier, Perry, would love to have a tea party and try your new product. As a puppy he was abused and suffered from broken bones. He has some joint problems and trembling in his limbs as a result. Now that he is older, the trembling and stiffness in his joints is more pronounced. I give him a glucosamine supplement, which he doesn’t like at all. Maybe this tea would soothe his aches and pains, especially if I serve cookies with the tea!
When I was 3 I had 3 herniated disks with extensive nerve damage to my right hind leg and was told that I would never walk. I did walk again. But with my advanced age (almost 15) I am having a problem with falling…my hind end doesn’t want to cooperate. I’d love to try this tea!
willow bark is one of the ingredients of this tea, the original source of aspirin.

My 12 year old Beagle Mia would love a tea party because she has arthritis. As frisky and fun as she still is, she sometimes has troubles climbing stairs and jumping on the bed. She is the sweetest little girl ever.
I would love to have a tea party for Yukiko. She is 7 years old and has Cushings. She has been on medication for her illness for a year now. As a result of Cushings she is sometimes slow to get up and is often not very active. I think a tea party would put some pep in her step and make her feel young again.
My bulldog would love to have a tea party! He just turned 11 years old and is an American Bulldog. Bulldogs alone are known to have joint problems. We know he is a puppy on the inside but it doesn’t always show. When going for his walk he has to rest about every 20 feet, but he always insists on going further. He has had surgery on both legs to help with his joints as well as hip surgery. He is on Rimadayl and other medications to help with the pain. His name is Mr. Hobbs which fits him perfectly now because he hobbles when he walks. He will sometimes cry at night, but after a while of massaging his legs he tends to feel a little better. He has so much playfulness on the inside and anything that could help it show would be greatly appreciated
Hi Nina…Thank you for leaving the info about willow bark. I sent an email to The Honest Kitchen to get an explanation on how the ingredient works safely in their product.
Here’s the answer…
“The first aspirin was derived from salicin found in Meadowsweet. Though there is natural Salicin found in the herb, white willow bark, which is a relative of the synthetically derived acetylsalicylic acid found in aspirin. The amount of Salicin in white willow bark is far less than you would find in common aspirin, and in using the whole herb (white willow bark), rather than the isolated salicin, it is very unusual that adverse reactions would occur. However, according to the master herbalist Jennifer Neal, with whom we jointly developed the Lithe formula, “the medicinal benefits of White Willow do seem to last longer within a body than aspirin does. This is why many people prefer to use white willow bark rather than aspirin.”
The tea was formulated to so that the herbs work together to balance their medicinal properties, and the amount of white willow bark in the actual formula is very minimal when you consider that it is then brewed and diluted and served with the food or drinking water. White Willow Bark does provide long-term effectiveness, as well as the other ingredients in the tea, so it is not something that must be taken every day to be truly effective.
As for aspirin is prescribed and relatively safe for use in dogs, though can cause gastrointestinal upsets and ulcers in dogs, just as in humans, and therefore should be used with caution.
We have added a statement to the Lithe Tea with the precaution in use with cats, and during pregnancy, which are the only precautions noted the use of the herbs in Lithe.
The statement reads: ‘Lithe Tea should only be used under veterinary supervision for cats, and nursing and pregnant animals’”
Our Mr BARNEY is Dying. We are trying to make him as comfortable as possible. He has arthritus very bad where every day MAMA has to massage him in order for him to stand and walk. We would love this for him to make him more comfortable. He is 16 years old,Blind and Deaf. He has very few teeth in his mouth and his tongue always hangs out so he always get Special Things to eat. We will miss him when he is gone. He had 14 years of being abused and living outdoors with a lot of Medical Problems before we took him in on his Put To Sleep Day July 1,2007.
Thank You LOV AND COCO KISSES COCO his Loving Sister and Family and Our MAMA KAT & DADDY PATRICK
My 7 year old AmStaff Jackson recently recovered from surgery to have his torn crucuiate ligament repaired. I have since been informed that he will need to be on a joint supplement to maintain mobility and an athritis medication as well, as he is already showing early signs of arthritis in that leg (although it’s not an issue for him yet). Jackson never turns away food/treats of any kind – he is very appreciate of what he has – so I know he’d love this tea!
Marley is a one year old miniature goldendoodle. He is a rescue that was born terribly bowlegged. The puppy mill he was bred and born at was going to put him down as he wouldn’t fetch the lucrative fees such a pup can, but a rescue organization stepped in and convinced the “breeder” that they could probably find a home for him. That’s where we came in. Marley walked quite silly and “ran” like a bunny when we got him. He couldn’t climb the few steps into the house. He does quite well now with only a trace of his initial deformity. We worry about him having a long, healthy, active life and are looking to protect his joints to give him that opportunity. Lithe tea could just be the ticket. We’d love to try it and be a poster pup for your product.
Mocho is now 17. Amazingly she has done very well until recently although she has had hip dysplasia all her life.
She has been on glucosamine chrondoitin for years. I worry about to much metacam or other nsaid and would love her to try your tea.
Chloe is an active pup who I plan to start in agility soon. Having a tea party would be fun for her but also help keep her joints healthy and flexible. Plus she loves exploring new foods and treats.
Daisy Mae would love to try this new product. She has tried many different products with varying results. Daisy has shallow hip sockets and her vet states she may soon need hip replacement. Some days she can’t even use her back left leg.
Huntington would like to start agility. This tea could keep his joints strong and healthy.
