Animal Cruelty Buster- Win A Cool Bracelet

Are you, like me, tired of reading horrific animal abuse stories? Fed up with the lax laws and lack of legislation to punish offenders? Do you ever feel that as one person you can’t make a difference? Good news, you can, and it’s easier than you think.
Dan Hoffman and Carrie Pollare are brother and sister. They have teamed up to help create change through a new campaign “I’m Tired Of..”, with the premise that a community of hundreds of thousands of people each contributing a small amount will cause a butterfly effect. To do this they have created some very cool bracelets, for men and women, so you can show the world what you would like to change and contribute to your cause of choice at the same time.
The “I’m Tired of…” bracelets were created to fight against the world’s issues that we are all tired of, like animal cruelty, world hunger, global warming, cancer, diabetes and so many more. The fashionable bracelets are made from recycled tires and metals, creating a fun play on the word, tired, and cost just $10, so anyone can afford them. Then half the sale ($5) from each one is donated to charities the company is aligned with that support each cause. Best Friends Animal Society is the beneficiary of the sales of the animal cruelty bracelets.
Their newest endeavor is combining forces with Best Friends Animal Society to help raise money for the “Vicktory Dogs”, and all the residents of the sanctuary.
Just as the new season of National Geographic Channel’s “Dogtown” is about to get underway, the cast got cozy with their favorite “Vicktory Dogs,” rescued from the abuse of former NFL Quarterback Michael Vick, while showing off their “I’m Tired of Animal Cruelty” bracelets. Half the sale ($5) of each $10 bracelet goes to benefit Best Friends Animal Society, the rescue and rehabilitation center where “Dogtown” takes place.
Dan Hoffman and Carrie Pollare have created a wonderful company that has the opportunity to make a tremendous difference for so many causes. As an interesting aside, this brother and sister team didn’t start this company to make money, they already had a multi-million dollar computer related business. “I’m Tired Of… ” was started as a completely altruistic endeavor, they wanted to make a difference.
“I’m Tired of…” charitable campaign, which truly has brought “fulfilling” back to us. What we are doing now is amazingly gratifying and eye opening.
So, here we are with the “I’m Tired of…” bracelet campaign, absolutely the most gratifying endeavor we have ever undertaken.”
Carrie has generously offered up five bracelets, men and women’s, for a contest. To enter just leave a comment in the comment section stating what you’re tired of, or what you plan on doing to make a difference. The contest starts today and runs through Wednesday, February 18th when I will randomly choose five lucky winners.
If you are looking to buy a gift for yourself or someone else, and want something special, please keep this company in mind. There’s nothing better than buying something that you can enjoy while helping others at the same time.
I know what I’m tired of…animal cruelty.

I am (of course) tired of animal cruelity. I am hoping to start a walking program with the animals of my local shelter. I want to get together a weekely walking circle and each week we will take the shelter dogs on a nice, long relaxing walk. I don’t have much money to donate but I do have time to give.
I’m tired of people getting dogs because they are such cute little puppies, not realizing or caring what type and how much work they are. They either abandon them or they end up in a shelter (kill)
I am tired of animal abuse. I have rescued 3 dogs from my neighborhood. Brandy a lab mix, BoBo a shar pei mix, and Bae Bae a pitbull mix. I have Brandy and BoBo. I got a friend to take Bae Bae so, I still get to see her every week and take Brandy and BoBo to visit and for walks with her. I also have a 13 year old chow named Bear and 3 resue ferrets named Butch, Sundance and Sheba. I would love to open up some kind of animal resue but, do not have the funds. The resues I have cost alot to take care of. I would be honored to receive one of your bracelets. I love animals of all kinds and try to do what I can to help. I also feed about 20 stray cats at my work every day. Tahnks for considering me. Brandy, Bobo, Bear, Sundance, Butch and Sheba’s mom.
I am against animal cruelty, and the laws and laws trying to be past to further blame the Bully breeds for agressiveness, fighting etc when it is not in the breed’s nature but trained into the breed by lousy owners and pet parents. My Lady is a social butterfly and does not show now agression even when her brother Oreo, a Border Collier mix wants to try to be the Alpha dog. She is a real sweet heart and loves everybody. I’ve had friends and aquantices who had bad opinions of the breed after meeting her has been amazed and even adopted in the breed.
Indiana Jones and Bayla say “We’re tired of Animal Cruelty” We are proud members and supporters of the ASPCA and would love to have one of these lovely bracelets!
I, as well, am tired of animal cruelty. I am always looking for any way to help that doesn’t require lots of money. I recently hand made 10 Valentine’s Day cards to send in to Dogs Deserve Better for their “Have a Heart for Chained Dogs Week”. Also my husband works at an apartment complex and often comes across things left behind by people when they move out. I have him bring home blankets, sheets, towels, soap, and anything else that could be useful to our local shelters and we donate it to them. Every little bit helps!
I’m tied of non-dog owners telling me that when I have human babies someday, my dogs will not seem as important to me. So not true! They will ALL be my babies!!
hi, iam all for saving all the dogs across america from being mistreated, and abused. this is awful. there is no excuse for things like this to happen!!!!! i hope that anyone who does these kinds of things to animals should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. iam an active animal activist, and i believe in people who do things like this to animals, should get just what is coming to them. this is awful, and it must be stopped as soon as possible thank you, rennea burgess. A.A.O. A. .
I’m tired of crying almost daily from the horrific stories I hear!
I’m tired of fight BSL and getting no where!
Like Anne, I’m tired of people telling me that ’someday’ my dogs won’t be so important to me!
And, I’m tired of feeling helpless, no matter how much I do:(
I’m tired of people in rural communities allowing their animals to roam. I’m sick of seeing dogs roaming dangerously close to highways or worse yet injured or dead.
I am tired of people abusing animals. people dumping them whereever just because they don’t want them. that is terrible. I hug and kiss on our yellow labs head all the time. I love him just as much as my boys and husband. he is very spoiled too.
We are tired of seeing dogs being shocked by their owners and dogs wearing pinch collars. If a dog owner cannot humanely control their dog then they should seek professional help training their dog, or they should acquire reasonable expectations about their dog’s behavior. Or maybe, just maybe, they shouldn’t have a dog at all.
I’m tired of the lack of enforcement of the anti cruelty laws that could prevent some of the terrible things that we read about everyday.
not looking for a free bracelet, just a quick comment…awesome website, great causes listed. I actually ordered to two bracelets, one against animal cruelty for my 5 rescued pets and one against cancer for family members suffering from this disease. Thank you for sharing this information.
I am tired of people talking meanly about animals. This is where animal cruelty starts–with thoughts and words. My sister in law’s husband didn’t like her dog and was always saying disparaging things about the pup. When the dog died, he was glad and said so. I want to encourage all families–if even one member doesn’t want a pet in the family, don’t get one. Our pets sense our feelings–love and hatred, both.
I am tired of the stigma put on animals that have gotten a bad rap from society. Lawmakers seeking laws to ban these animals when it is the fault of the owner that a dog can turn bad. I am also tired of people adopting a dog or kitty & then after a few days, weeks or months deciding they don’t want it. I read on Craig’s List one day a girl was giving away her kitten of 3 months because she found out she was pregnant & she & husband didn’t want it. Now, come on, did she not know she had a chance to become pg. These animals are not disposable. I even had a problem w/ a family member who never trained their lab & her family kept saying, how stupid the dog was & how bad she was. OMG, I did what I could to try & get them help but they wouldn’t listen. The dog got out one day from their yard & was never to be heard from again. I have had trouble forgiving them for that. And, now they talk about getting another dog. I told her if they did I was going to take him away from them if they didn’t show responsible pet ownership. Ok, so sorry my anger & passion get flowing when I start to talk about this terrible tragedy that affects poor helpless animals. The bottom line is I am sick of abuse of all animals & more & more education of the public & more & more people need to stop being selfish & realize these are living breathing creatures & they deserve a respected dignified life.
HEY, I DO NOT BELIEVE IN ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!!!!!!THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT. I KNOW THAT THEIR ARE DOGS THAT HAVE A BAD REPUTATION, SUCH AS PIT BULLS, ROTTWELIER, ETC. THIS COULD BE THE FAULT OF THE OWNER, OR JUST SOMETIMES THE BREED. NOT TO SAY THAT ALL PIT BULLS, AND ROTTWEILERS ARE BORN BAD BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE A CONNECTION THERE SOMEWHERE. I HOPE, OR AT LEAST I THINK THAT WITH TIME ALL OF THIS COULD BE FIXED.
I am tired of animal cruelty!! How can someone abuse a dog or cat? All the animal wants to do is give uncontitional love and affection. They will comfort you when you are sad. They will listen when no one else will. They will make you laugh on a cloudy day. Animals can not speak up on their own. We need to give them a voice!!
I’m tired of seeing dogs tied up on a chain outside with a crappy looking dog house. Dogs are pack animals and need to be with their families! I’m tired of seeing stray animals, and tired of people thinking that dumping an animal is okay and that they can fend for themselves. I’ve done my part on taking in stray cats and dogs. And I do my part every day by clicking at The Animal Rescue Site, and clicking at The Free Kibble Site for Cats, and The Free Kibble Site for Dogs to provide food for animals in shelters.
I am tired of people taking animals’ lives for granted, especially their pets’ lives! Humans adopt or buy a pet and then not care enough to love it as much as it loves them!? Those people make me angry. A dog is not something to “have.” It’s something to care for and reciprocate the love it gives to you! There is absolutely nothing hard about that…
I too, am tired of abuse of all animals, exploitation and cruel treatment. To make a difference, I make baskets every year to be auctioned off. The money raised helps shelter small animals until they can be adopted into good homes.
My mom wears one of these each and every day. A very good friend gave it to her and she loves it. Some of her friends are now getting them. They are awesome and what a wonderful cause!!
I am tired of society treating animals as a disposable item. If we get a pet and get bored, oh well, we can just dump it off at the pound, or worse, dump it on the side of the road. I am tired of the neglect, abuse, and unkindness that society does to animals as well as humans.
I am SO against animal cruelty!! I have five rescue dogs (two are special needs and two are seniors) and a cat…all had been tossed away unwanted. All of them have previously been abused or neglected in some way…but are now safe, healthy, happy, have warm beds to sleep in, and most importantly, they know they are loved and wanted. If I had room, I would take in more.
I am tired, fed up, disgusted, and worn out by animal abuse! I read online and see on tv everyday about poeple abandoning their 22 dogs in the station wagon, or puppy mills where over 500 of their dogs are pregnant. I am a strong believer in “Do unto others, as you would have done unto you” and I am all for treating these monsters the way they have treated their animals. We should starve them, set them on fire, make them fight for food, cut them and scar them, hit them, and then abandon them. These people do not deserve to be humans and I wish punishment were stronger! These abused animals turn into afraid and viciouse dogs that then mudslides to banning certain breeds. Who is at fault here? not the dog…why cant be ban the humans? My friends and I are starting several Breed specific law petitions and soon will rally and protest in front of our court house. We will fix what this problem!
One article I read this morning was about Pit Bulls (again.) A 12 year old girl was bit in the face by a Pit. Here’s my problem with it, the dog was fenced in, but the girl put her head over the fence, for what reason…it was never mentioned, and the dog bit her. Duh…most breeds would do that or try to. All dogs are territorial. Maybe the fence was right against the sidewalk, or maybe the fence wasn’t tall enough. Either way thats not the dog’s fault, the owners should have placed a taller fence if its right along side the sidewalk, and the girl and/or her mother (who was with her) should have some common sense not to put their head over a fence.
The last statement of the article really bothers me too. “That particular breed is problematic. They were bred to go into the pit and fight,” she said. “It’s like a little time bomb waiting to go off.” NO THEY WERE NOT!!! People need to learn about breeds before they open their mouths. I have never owned a Pit Bull, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look up basic information on the internet. “The American Pit Bull Terrier’s many talents did not go unnoticed by farmers and ranchers who used their APBTs for protection, as catch dogs for semi-wild cattle and hogs, to hunt, to drive livestock, and as family companions.” Also, most people do not seem to know that their are different breeds of Pit Bulls, with the American Pit Bull Terrier the only one with the words “pit” and “bull” in its name.
Just because they are bad owners, doesn’t mean the dogs are born “evil.” There are bad parents too, but do we label the children “evil” and try to eliminate them?!?! No!!! We go after the parents.
My husband and I have owned 2 “bully breed” dogs so far; a Chinese Shar Pei and (the current babies) two Siberian Huskies. And I have news for you, so far our two house cats are more likely to hiss, spit, and scratch you then any of the dogs we have had.
I am tired of irresponsible animal owners not taking care to nueter/spay in efforts to reduce additional overflows of homeless animals.
im tired of society being more worried about britney spears and some lady having 14 kids then taking care of the real ones in need…animals. Look, we are destroying the planet, and no one cares… step up, or step out. these animals deserve this planet more than we do. hopefully a day will come when people understand that these animals are here to do nothing but provide us love…and want little in return. when celebrities are looking to help all this stuff, only sarah mclachlan has stepped up…
everyday here in arizona is a story about how someone has left there dog in an abondened house, or animals are found starving. look, you made the commitment to these animals, they are like kids. have a soul…they need you…beating and starving them is not the answer…showing some backbone and humanity…now there is a revelation that humans need….
I’m tired of living in a state (Missouri) that allows uncontienable behavior towards animals. Puppy Mills are rampant in this state and there is no legal action you can take against them. Believe me I have tried. People do not spay/neuter their pets and unwanted pets are everywhere. I live in a relatively small town and animal control is overwhelmed and always full. There is so much neglect and animal abuse by ignorant people that animals treated badly are not even punished.
I’m tired of animal cruelty because I find no reason on how in the world hurting or abusing animals is right. You shouldn’t even c all yourselves humans if you do things like those. I can’t even believe, let alone know that people out there are doing such horrific things! Stop the cruelty of animals, and punish those who do.
Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m tired of kill shelters(the pound) making u pay to adopt a dog. Any type of dog, no matter how old, what breed, or anything! When I got my baby (Lizzie) out of the pound, all they made me pay was $7 a day for room +board, and $25 for a microchip. Thats it! But when u adopt, its $350 for any dog. $350!!!! And then, of corse, no one’s gonna buy some old, unhealthy mutt for $350 when they can get a puppy for $80-$100! Then, if they don’t sell them within 10 days, the kill them. For no reason at all!!! They think there helping, but no! They’re actually hurting the dog, and its family. Why can’t the pound give dogs away for free on they’re last 5 days? They must be too full of pride. I saved Spencer (who recently died) one day before he was going to die! What about all those dogs who DON’T get bailed out in time, uh? Then some pounds don’t even except pitbulls!!!! Humane Societeys are NOT humane at all. I really can’t stand the pound. How cruel.I’m also tired of animal cruelty, and people who steal pets. What about my puppy’s future? Thats what I’m sick of. I’M TIRED OF HUMANS NOT BEING EQUAL TO ANIMALS!!!!!!!!
~Lizzie’s mommy.
Another thing I’m tired of is segregation, and prejudiced people. I’m all for equal rights!!!
I’m tired of hearing the reasons why people have to give up their loving pets. It’s pathetic the reasons we here.
We are having a baby.
Our old dog doesn’t like our new puppy. The old dog has to go.
We are moving out of State.
We don’t have time for him/her anymore.
He/she has too much energy for us.
My kids are not paying attention to the dog.
He/she is out of control.
What happened to responsibility? Grown ups don’t teach it to their children anymore, its a vicious cycle.
I’m tired of the negative press surrounding dog attacks specifically tarnishing the american pitbull terrier and its bullies alike by the media. I’m tired of municipalities punishing the animals who most of the time can not be faulted. Why aren’t the municipalities punishing the people instead who aren’t caring for the dogs in the correct manner? Which is why I am tired of BSL and being punished for being a responsible owner of the breed. I would hope that every owner of a discriminated breed could contact the media everyday, report something positive about their breed in the community, and flood the media with good stories to cover instead of the negative.
It makes me really sad that animal abuse has went on for so long and the laws are not protecting them. Dogfighting is cruel, cruel, cruel. Animals have feelings and dogs just want to be a human’s companion. Dogs are loyal and give lots of unconditional love, even, Pitbulls. Animal cruelty needs to STOP!!!
I’M TIRED OF “people” treating animals as disposable trash that they are allowed to do with whatever they choose.
I’M TIRED OF people not standing up to their responsibilities by casting their pets off to already crowded shelters.
I’M TIRED OF constantly hearing day after day a worse cruelty story than the day before.
I’M TIRED OF not having enough funds to start my own animal sanctuary.
I am tired of living in NW PA, where having a foot of snow on the ground at all times and temps in the teens is not abnormal, and seeing dogs tied to makeshift dog houses filled with straw– if they’re lucky. It’s so sad that people don’t recognize that the blessing of having dog as a companion could really enrich their life.
I am sick of Puppy Mills and people buying puppies that support the mills. The living conditions that these puppy and dogs have to live in is undescribable and nothing should have to live this way. We all need to write our state reps. and congressman to have stricter guide lines for the puppy mills.I am fostering a retired breeder from a puppy mill, she has never stepped on grass until now, she was kept in a cage being bred all the time.Thats what I am sick of.
I’m tired of those who abuse animals and others that turn their head and let it continue to happen. I volunteer with animals shelters to help give homeless animals hope.
I’m tired of seeing people leaving their dogs outside tied up to a chain their whole lives lucky to get fresh water and food once a wk much less once a day. Most of them can’t even get away from their own waste because the chain is barely 5 foot long or its tangled up and can’t even move. Sometimes the collar is inbeded in their necks and the owner could care less.
I have already bought a bracelet, waiting on it to be delivered. Anything to help these shelters who give so much of themselves for a cause as noble as defending innocent animals. I, too, am tired of those who take an animal in, then decide it is too much trouble and dump it off at a shelter. How heartless can they be? I am sick of dog fighting, and those who indulge in such a sick disgusting thing getting by with it. I am tired of seeing dogs chained up in the heat and cold, with no food or water and no human interaction. No one says you have to LOVE animals, but if you don’t then just stay away from them. They aren’t disposable, they aren’t yours to abuse. Those who abuse animals would do well to learn from them, instead of writing them off as disposable. I, too, rescue stray animals, and find homes for them. Some of them I have had to keep, but they have brought me great pleasure, and that’s just fine. If my county didn’t have ordinances in regard to how many pets you can have, I would keep ALL of them. I give to the SPCA monthly. I put my money and my time where my mouth is, I believe in caring for one of the most wonderful things we have on this planet, our animals.
I’m tired of CANCER. In the past six months, two of my four brothers have been diagnosed with cancer and two very dear friends’ fur children have also been diagnosed, one having crossed the bridge. I’m trying to do my part to raise funds for cancer research. The bracelets are AWESOME and I applaud all your efforts!
I’m tired of people constantly complaining, but not doing a thing to solve the problems. This is such a wonderful and simple idea to spread the word and help contribute to the cause. I’m tired of everyone blaming everyone but themselves for the problems of the world. If we all took a small step we could make a difference. I think awareness is a great tool, which is why everyone in my family wears a Lymphoma awareness bracelet and the dogs have collars that say “Hope” with the green ribbon. Kudos to Dan and Carrie. I think these bracelets would make great gifts, I am going to purchase a few for friends and family.
I live in Bullhead City, AZ and a couple of us have just started a non profit organization call S.A.I.N.T. ..SAVING ANIMALS IN NEED TOGETHER. We are so excited to find that there are so many people that want to get involved and finding that so many people just don’t realize the cruelty that goes on every day with our precious pets. Some of our goals are educating people on the importance of spay and neutering and providing at a low cost, shutting down puppy mills, building a much needed larger shelter in Bullhead City and making it low or no kill, encouraging pet adoption and limit breeders to the # of liters they can have and to be responsible for spay and neutering the pets. We can’t change the world, but we are sure we can make a difference.
Thank you for all you do and I love the idea of the bracelet.
I am tired of my very own neighbor, who watches me pack and clean up from doing dog transport, and yet won’t neuter his boxer because he doesn’t want to take away his “manhood”.
Just last night, (this otherwise good neighbor) was punishing his dogs by keeping them inside. He said: “They knew not to take his cookies off the table”! So they were grounded. Yeah, cooped up boxers… That otta work…
Old school, he “knows” more about dogs than I do. Won’t attend class.
*sigh* I need to rescue the dogs next door.
I’m tired of reading postings and emails from puppy millers posing as concerend citizens and from other special interest groups asking us to oppose legislation designed to ensure that dogs are provided with basic humane living conditions.
And tired of caring individuals who receive these emails/postings and react by forwarding the emails and firing off letters/emails/faxes and phone calls to their legislators in opposition of these bills without ever READING the actual legislation
Please, go to the website of your legislative body and READ the actual bill filed. Compare it with whatever you’ve received, and THEN make a decision, pro or con, about the bill. Become an informed Constituent, for the animals.
I am (sick and) tired of animal cruelty. For my part, I have undergone training to become an animal cruelty investigator and will continue to pursue my career in shelter medicine in order to continue to help abused, neglected and abandoned animals.
I’m tired of:
- the crummy excuses people have for buying dogs in pet stores vs rescue or adoption
- the notion that pets are disposable when you get tired of them or they become a nuisance to take care of. You are making a commitment for LIFE when you bring a pet into your life, whether you decide to have a baby, get divorced or move to another city. Don’t do it if you can’t hold yourself to it.
- dog owners who think it is ok to not clean up after their dogs. We have a terrible rat problem in my city and dog poop is part of the rat’s diet. Irresponsible dog owners give all us dog owners a black eye. Act responsibly people!
- snotty kennel clubs who don’t give any value to mixed breed dogs. my mixed breed pooches are smarter and healthier than most purebreds
- cruelty to animals
- puppy mills
- animal hoarding
ok I’ll stop now.
Here in NZ.
I am tried of the excuses people have when they no longer what their dogs.
Tired of the designer dog breeding that is going on just for the money.
Tired of the stupid dog laws. They need to be changed.
Tired of the Irresponsible dog owners, not looking after their dogs or cleaning up after them etc.
The list is so long ……..
Animals are for life.
I’m tired of being accused of “whining” about animal treatment. A life should be respected regardless of whose life it is. Everyone deserves to be fed and loved and housed. Society provides those things to criminals, why not animals.
I am a product of animal abuse, neglect, cruelty, and abandonment. My mom rescued me from a kill shelter–I was doomed to be put down the next day and I was only 6 months old. I am a beautiful blue-eyed border collie and I have brought so much joy to my mom. My mom and everyone that meets me says that I am so sweet and no one can believe how I was treated before my mom saved me.
My mom has always adopted rescue animals. We have two other rescue dogs, a cat, rabbits, and other pets. My mom is a huge spay/neuter advocate and has even paid to have feral cats fixed so that there wouldn’t be more unwanted litters. Mom sponsers others as much as she can. Every year, my mom takes us to the shelter to bring some joy and hope with food and treats to those not so fortunate yet.
I have a rescued Weim and I am against all forms of animal cruelty. My wife and I adopt only rescue animals and bring love into their lives.
I’m tired of people not being committed to their pet(s) for their whole lives. Being committed means providing not only lots of love, food and water, but also vet care, a safe environment, regular exercise, and so on. It doesn’t mean only love the dog when it’s a little, cute puppy! What about when it grows up? I’m tired of people throwing their dogs in the backyard and forgetting about them! So many unhappy pups are left outside and forgotten, it’s so incredibly sad to me. If people want a pet that doesn’t require much work, then why don’t they just get a goldfish?
I’m tired of animal cruelty, my next door neighbor had a dog he had in a very small pen with no shelter of any kind and food thrown on the ground,
I don’t know if there was water. Sometimes he would let the dog out only to chain it up! He had recently moved in next door and when I saw the dog and the neglect I called our local animal shelter
and the sent an investigator. The next day the man had a dog house but sadly not big enough for the animal. A few days later I called the shelter again and this time they took the dog!!!! I have a rescue senior I adopted last May and a cat. I could not take in another animal. I try to send donations to an animal welfare group when I can and would have taken this dog if I could have, but it just was not possible.
I also find it disgusting that just because I don’t have a credit card I am unable to purchase one of the bracelets as I would wear it proudly!
I got off on another tangent and forgot to state what I’m tired of, the biggest being our so called government that spends billions on space programs, torturing helpless animals in the name of science and in general wasting our money on things that we have no use for. I too am tired and fed up with seeing dead animals lying on the streets,
chained up in yards with substandard houses or none at all. In short I love animals more than I like people!
I’m tired of people paying breeders hundreds or even thousands of dollars for “designer” dogs when so many dogs (even purebreds!) are homeless and losing their lives because of overcrowded shelters. What are they thinking???
I’m tired of PETA and the HSUS trying to legislate pet ownership to the point that in the future there will be no
pets.
I’m tired of people badmouthing Pit bulls, American Staffordshire Terriers, etc.
I’m tired of being told that by breeding an occasional, well planned litter with all health clearances, sold on spay/neuter contracts with buy back and health clauses I am causing other dogs in shelters to die and that there is no such thing as a reputable breeder — there IS and many of us do rescue as well!
I’m tired of hearing people say the legal system was unfair to Michael Vick. He deserves EVERY SINGLE DAY of his prison sentence. And more.
I’m tired of …. hearing “you can’t save them all” when I’m trying to save just one today.
I’m tired of …. listening to someone say “it’s only a dog” (or a cat) when I tell a sad story.
I’m tired of …. people who say they want a pet to have a litter so their child can witness “the miracle of birth.” I wonder if they would like to witness “the miracle of euthanasia” for pet overpopulation control.
I am tired of puppy mills, animal abuse, & lack of funding to make shelters “no-kill” so more can find a forever home. I am tired of designer dogs. ADOPT!!!!
Blessed be..
I’m tired of all the hype about Pit Bulls. They are just as loving and reliable a breed as your “family friendly” Spaniel or Retriever. I’m tired of the people who create the “vicious dog” in the first place, which make other people create stereotypes of certain breeds, so in the eyes of the public, every Pit, Dobe, GSD, Rott, or any dog that looks like them is immediately labeled “dangerous”.
I’m tired of the HSUS and ASPCA who “rescue” dogs and then put them down if they aren’t perfect, they have to have absolutely NO aggression, fear, or resource guarding issues or they’re deemed “unadoptable”. Especially with “rescued” fighting dogs.
I’m tired of puppy mills who breed just to make money, I live close to a mill that keeps all their dogs outside (Short-hair toy breeds no less) in whatever weather, whether its 100 degrees or 15, all they have for shelter is a little igloo dog house.
I’m tired of familys who breed their dogs “just because” or “they want the puppies” or so their kids can take care of baby dogs. My old JRT came from a family who “just so happened” to have a male and female JRT and decided to let them have puppies. They even told us that if you let the puppy in the house ONE time, it will take over your house, get in any time it could and walk all over you.
I’m tired of big no-kill shelters that let the dogs suffer and become bored and develop OCD just because they don’t want to put any dog down, but aren’t capable of keeping every dog happy and comfortable.
I have always and will continue to try in whatever way possible to do my part to support and promote educating people about cruelty to animals, especially dogs. I encourage everyone to do their part by setting the example first. When I do not or can not personally rescue victims of cruelty and abuse, I support my 5 children and all my friends who participate in any way to help. I adopt only those dogs who need a safe, loving home away from the cruel neglect or abuse thye have endured or are possibly facing. I recently added an app to my myspace page for banning the Pitbull ban. I take every opportunity to educate people everywhere about sweet loving Pitbulls. And encourage everyone to first seek shelters, and legit organizations who seek to find forever homes or foster homes for dogs that have been abused in any way. I am joining my friends and Family in becoming part of rescue groups that support education and rescue of those suffering from cruelty of any kind. I do what I can by first setting an example, with my actions and my words. I would proudly wear a bracelet if you found my entry worthy to be one of the winners. I am already a winner by spreading the education and the love.
I am tired of the attitude that animal cruelty is ok because it’s just an animal. I’ve worked for more than 30 years fighting animal cruelty on a small scale. I’ve been to court with huge petitions to get media attention in horrendous local cruelty cases (it works, btw). I’ve taken in animals that the world has given up on. And, I’ve followed a sweet feral named Hope who was dumped as a puppy for years now, trying to undo what society has heaped upon her. I will talk to anyone who will listen that animal cruelty is a scourge that our society has set free by our complacency.
Never believe that an individual cannot make a difference. Oh, but we can. And, we do. I am only one, small piece of the puzzle…only one small voice in the wilderness. But, I know that in some small way I have made a difference. I know that there are animals out there who have known kindness and love through me. I know that together we make an undeniably strong force.
I am not a popular person among humans, but I do not care. I do not do what I do for a popularity contest. I do what I do because I love animals, and this is the gift that God gave me.
I am tired of anima cruelty. I am tired of the heartless torturing animals who only want to love you till the end of time. I volunteer at a animal shelter, and sadly I see to much cruelty normally on the sweetest dogs and cats. The latest abuse was a shar pie lab mix named Noah; he is about a year old and has had a rough start. You can see every bone in his body, and has scabs and bed soars all over his body and has bad teeth. But has the cutest face, I call it a scooby doo face. And his personality is even better he loves to give kisses and very much enjoys sleeping on your lap and barking and playing with dogs. It breaks my heart into 8,001 little pieces when people are so cruel to hurt such loving creatures.
I’m tired of hearing about so many good shelters having to close due to the lack of funding. That is why I will continue to donate our Snuggle Sacks to groups that use them for raffles or auctions. And I will continue to tell my friends about the groups and their auctions.
I AM SO TIRED OF ANIMAL CRUELTY. I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE COULD BE MEAN TO SOMETHING THAT IS SO SWEET! ANIMALS ARE LIKE BABIES. THEY ARE A GIFT FROM GOD AND WE SHOULD TAKE EXTRA CARE OF THEM ALL!! I HAVE THREE DOGS AND I WOULD HAVE MORE, BUT I’M JUST A POOR GIRL. I HAVE NEVER MET A DOG OR CAT OR ANY OTHER ANIMAL FOR THAT MATTER THAT I DID NOT JUST LOVE AND WANT TO TAKE HOME!
I am owned by a lovely little person and live with my parents two little dogs. I know the great joy that they’ve given to me and because of that, I’m tired of constantly seeing the cruelty shown to the species and the lack of respect that the governments worldwide have given to those who can’t speak for themselves.
Since Missy has come into my life, i’ve started to email local representatives for government, signed petitions against cruelty, offered donations to local charities as well.
I know that i’m only one person, but to my little girl, Missy thinks Im the world and i want to keep her respect.
I am tired of people turning their backs, thinking that only one voice can’t make a difference. Why can’t they see that it starts with one voice, then another and another….until there are enough voices that people HAVE to listen. One Voice.
I’m tired of irresponsible pet owners that will not, or won’t bother to spay/neuter their dogs and cats. There are so many animals that already need homes, yet some choose to just ignore that and continue letting their pets reproduce time after time. All six of my “second-hand” dogs are spayed or neutered and they want to say hi. So hi from Katie, Ginny, Buddy, Loki, Mimi & TJ. I didn’t rescue them, they rescued me!
I’m tire of breed racism, I’m tired of dogs left out in the elements 24/7, I’m tired kill shelters, I’m tired of irresponsible owners. I’m tired of watching a being who gives unconditional love suffer the abuse of an uncaring owner, or a human being who has no heart. I’m tired of dogs being dumped in city parks left to fend for themselves and starving to the point that their ribs show and and their bellies are bloated with parasites. I’m tired of irresponsible breeders, and puppy mills.
What I’m not tired of is, being able to go to governments and oppose BSL, to educate the uneducated on animal care, to help the elderly afford to have their beloved companion go to the vet, to go to shelters and lend a hand, to be able to collect donations to keep a no kill shelter going, to be able to rescue and find a forever homes for an abused dog or cat that needs love and kindness. I’m not tired of having unconditional love surround me everyday.
For if we get tired, our animal companions will suffer, we need to have the strength to keep going and to continue to fight for those that can’t.
I am tired of my Community not doing enough for animals. I live in a small town in WV, I see animals all the time that are very underweight and mistreated. I call the HUmane Society and nothing is done! I have rescued 2 beautiful dogs from horrible conditions and I wish I could do more! I wish every town had an ASPCA I think they are as important as Police.
I have had fines for trespassing when trying to feed my neighbors dog, You can see the dog is severly underweight and when the cop comes over instead of taking their dog and Charging them with neglect they give me a ticket for tresspassing. What is wrong with these people?
We are tired of people purchasing animals from pet stores when there are so many of us out there waiting in shelters! You would probably be surprised to find out how many of us started out in a pet store to begin with.Think about that! The deplorable puppy mills continue to thrive because people continue to support places that sell live animals. We are NOT commodities! We hope our Mom is able to fulfill her dream of establishing a rescue organization to give dogs in need a chance. We know she would be good at it. After all, she rescued us.
I’m tired of seeing good, smart animals being put in county shelters and being left there until they are put down. There seems to be an abundance of dogs and cats in my area’s county shelter that aren’t being adopted.
My first dog, after I moved out of my mothers house, was found roaming around a dumpster behind a grocery store. The people that found him could not keep him and then another woman’s husband told her to get rid of him because he was half Chow and he would be mean. I took him because I didn’t want him to end up being put down as a puppy, after all he was only 5 weeks old. He lived to be 9 years old and extremely happy.
My wife and I adopted Janey and Jackson just over a month ago and their stories are here on Dogster in my profile section.
I’m sick and tired of people giving me grief at work because I “obsessive” about what happens to the animals of the world! They say my priorities are screwed up – but little do they know the joy I get when I go home to my two pavement specials… <3!
I am tired of persons who get dogs just for security reasons and then give them back after they become too hard to handle!!! I am also tired of persons who just disown their pets for varoius reasons such as unemployment, moving, having kids ect… Pets , all pets, are a life long comittment. Just think about it, your dog wouldn’t walk away from you just because your boy or girlfiriend dumped you, or because you got passed over for a promotion, or even if you forgot to take them to the park!! They love us unconditionally, so why can’t we do that back!! I am going to hug both of dogs tonight and thansk God that they are both in my life, FOREVER!!
I am bone tired of all of the abuse and neglect toward animals and children. I am also tired of feeling so helpless and unable to do anything about it.
I live in Atlanta and I’m really tired of dog fighting and the excuse that it’s a culture thing. Vick was raised that way. Dogs are a gift to us from God and we should take care of them as well as all animals.
I’m tired of people letting their dogs loose off the leash in residential areas. Everytime I go to walk my dog I have to be concerned with loose dogs approaching us. Irresponsible pet owners that think its ok to let their dog out to poop in the neighbor’s yards and roam around for 20 minutes. A maltese was attacked and killed by a larger breed dog. The owner tried to save her small pup to no avail. It’s horrible. Please be a responsible dog owner!
I’m tired of people blaming so called bully breeds for everything. A dog is a precious creature and if you treat them gently they will be gentle. We’ve had American bulldogs that were so much nicer than little yappy dogs that bite. My dogs just want to get all your love and attention. They might lick you all over but they would never ever hurt you. I have had all sorts of dogs all my life and can’t imagine a time when I wouldn’t have a dog. They are the best and most precious of God’s creation.
I am tired of people who think it’s okay to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars for a puppy from a breeder. I am SO TIRED of people NOT adopting from shelters. There are SO MANY GREAT dogs out there who need homes!! It makes me sick that some people have NO CONCERN for these animals. There are no bad dogs, only bad owners.
Leave it to Best Friends! They have raised so much awareness of how truly amazing Pit Bulls are! Having been in the courtroom when Michael Vick pled guilty, I have really enjoyed following the progress the dogs have made since being rescued from the clutches of that truly evil disgusting excuse of a human being. I hope that all the people that don’t win the bracelet will go to the site and purchase one for themselves and one for a freind to pass along a wonderful message. I know that I am on my way to make a purchase right now!
I’m no good at contests so I just ordered up 2 bracelets for myself and my hubby. Good luck to whoever wins. – The bracelets look cool and are for a great cause. I’ll be wearing mine with pride
I am tired of puppy mills because of the deplorable conditions the animals suffer.
I am very tired of hearing more and more about situations where people seem to feel that it is acceptable to treat living things like so much garbage! I am tired of both people abuse as well as animal abuse, There is never an excuse for either.
I am tired of unwanted animal breeding. How do I change this. I catch stray cats and have them spayed. I take in one unwanted dog and vet them and love them and show them that not all humans are bad then I work on rehoming them. I do not take another dog in till that one is successfully rehomed. I educate. When my daughters have their friends over I take an opening and teach. If one of their friends ask about one of my dogs I tell them their story and tell them how to prevent their story repeating itself. I wish I could do more, but I do all I can. I may not make a difference in many lives, but the few I do means the world to me. It gives me my purpose and my being. It is who I am. I do not focus on what I can not change. I focus on what change I can make..
I’m tired of seeing people with cats that they don’t spay or neuter and then continue to cycle through liter after liter of kittens.
I am tired of animal cruelty and the amount of Humans who take in these poor lil creatures just to torture or throw them out like yesterdays trash or leave them at shelters cause they dont want them anymore this is just wrong
We are definitely more than tired of animal cruelty! Whether it’s dog fighting, puppy mills, using animals for product testing (especially when other methods are available) or physical/verbal abuse – we’ve had enough! The people who participate in these activities need to be dealt with seriously by the courts and laws/enforcement put in place to prevent them. Humans freak out when a dog attacks a human. What about the much larger number of cases of humans attacking dogs?
I am tired of irresponsible breeding. I have worked in shelters and the sheer numbers of “Oops maybe we should have got Fluffy fixed” break my heart. I promote adopting from rescues and shelters every chance I get. I also try to stay up on information involving low cost and free services for animals such as spay/neuter and vaccines.
I am tired of pitties being euthanized just because they are pitties. I volunteer my time at local shelters training dogs to be more adoptable. I am beginning the long tedious adventure of rehabbing a former bait dog–he is 5 years old and EXTREMELY fear aggressive (obviously)–the shelter is extremely invested in making this beautiful pittie adoptable one day.
I am tired of animal cruelty. My ultimate goal is to start an animal rescue here in the small town of Marshall MN, There is none here but i know there is a need for one.,
My plan is to get a grant that will allow me the money to buy a piece of property just outside of town and set it up for an animal rescue for all animlas,
They need a good safe place to go when no one else wants them,
I am sooooo tired of Animal Cruelty!!! I think as an American people we should be better than that. I will NEVER understand how anyone could abuse any animal? They only want to be loved. They give us so much back. I know that I am a better person because of my sweet mini dachshund, Amelia. We need to start educating young kids in school on proper ways to handle animals. Hopefully someday we as people will be as nice as the animals we encounter.
I am really tired of Canine Cancer. I know way too many great pups that have recently lost their battle to some type of cancer. Our agility club donates money to a good cause for each ribbon earned at our trials. We recently donated to canine cancer research. With enough donations and education…hopefully one day we can beat this illness.
I’m tired of people not researching breeds and taking on a dog that it not suited for their lifestyle. Then they tie it outside or crate it inside and ignore / abuse / neglect it and blame it for all their woes. We adopted one of those dogs and last week we found out that he is the #6 CPE Agility dog for 2008. Research, give them a reason to be, know what your lifestyle is before you buy or adopt. They are smart dogs, not so smart people…
we’re tired of IMHA! immune-mediated hemolytic anemia.. we lost mica in less than six days of onset, and we have watched hundreds lost since we learned about it.
i just noticed this campaign 5 minutes to midnight on the last day. we just spend most of our time trying to raise funds & awareness of the disease, in honor of our love bug, on behalf of others.
no one should have to face this disease. i can’t really say what i wish i could right now, just learning of yet another loss. we get up, each day, hoping to make a difference.
what you’re doing is wonderful. i see it as one more way to reach another mate and teach them what we know, in hope that they’ll join us. we need all the help we can get.
love, the purple girls of oregon
I am tired of animal cruelty! I rescued a Rott/Dobie mix that was dumped by us with a puppy choke-chain grown into her neck- the people had tried to cut it out themselves then dumped the poor girl at our house. She lived a happy 5 years with us before she had to be put to sleep due to hip issues.
Animals can’t stop people from abusing them, so we must stop the cruelty ourselves
I am tired of people buying dogs from pet stores who get their dogs from puppy mills then stamp a high price on them.. I am tired of walking into a local pet store that wants $500+ for dog that isnt even registered. I am tired of the fact that there are still so many puppy mills around. I will continue to advise the people I know not to buy from pet stores but to adopt or at least find a reputable breeder. I will continue to show my support to stop puppy mills. My next dog WILL be adopted!!!
I am tired of feeling heartsick, helpless, defenseless, sad, weepy, sick to my stomach, angry, agitated, annoyed and distraught because there is at least one horrific story EVERY day in the news about a defenseless animal that was chopped into bits, set on fire, shot, knifed, run over, beaten to a pulp until it’s eyes popped out, poisoned, abused, starved, abandoned, hoarded or bred until it’s internal organs were useless. I am sick that our society is full of people who have no problem doing this. I am tired of the fact that these stories are becoming more “commonplace” thereby suggesting the next act of animal cruelty be more heinous than the one before. I am tired of people who say they can’t do anything about such things because they don’t have the money. If you have time, time=$ as far as an animal is concerned. If you don’t believe me, go to a shelter at closing time. I can assure you any dog behind bars would rather have 10 minutes of your time than $200 of your money. And the ones on death row-that could be their last 10 minutes of love.
I’m tired of seeing several generations (including my own) who have no concept of personal responsibility. Animal abuse (in addition to many other problems) has gotten worse because somewhere along the way, people have not learned that there are always consequences for your actions and we have become a society of instant gratification.
i plan on always picking up my dogs poop and other dogs poo if i see it
I’m tired of seeing dogs chained 24/7. Dogs are the most social and pack oriented of animals and people still insist on keeping them tethered.
Tethering while at work… maybe, but not 24/7… dogs left chained do not get proper vet care… they can be agressive and they can go crazy. I know I’d go nuts chained up 24/7.
I have been working with Dogs Deserve Better and others to develop a bill for restricted tethering in my county. Already have the backing of a State Rep. Tim Burchett.
No more chained pets!!
Dear Dogster friends,
We just donated $2500 thanks to those who have purchased our “I’m Tired Of” Animal Cruelty bracelets. They need to raise $10k to house 200 dogs recently rescued from an unregistered breeding facility. (Puppy Mill) Please help us and BestFriends.org by visiting our site and purchasing a bracelet to show your commitment to ending animal cruelty. THANK YOU!
Thank you Dogster, Inc. for this great website.
I am tired of animal neglect, irresponsible backyard breeders, and unenforced laws such as leash laws, household pet limit laws, pet tags, kennel &/or breeding permit/licensing, vaccinations, spay/neuter, hunting/trapping/shooting, etc. which often lead to bigger issues and more serious problems.
I’m tired abuse. Seeing it on the interweb and on the television it’s just horrifying! It just makes you want to cry. People that get dogs need to honestly get a clue about dog care. Having said that as puppies you get them usually from people that don’t want them. But other times they get them from puppy mills! come on that’s no way to treat puppie’s! how would you like to be locked in a cage and not ever seeing day light? you wouldn’t like it to much would you? no you wouldn’t. I am signing this because I believe animals have the right. They are a living thing to you know. Not just some toy you throw around. They have feelings and a heart. There not like cold hearted people in the world today.

I’m tired of pet owners not spaying or neutering their pets. Millions of cats and dogs are being killed each year because of pet overpopulation.
Spay & Neuter – It saves lives!!
