Come on people, if their food is being sold still and pets aren't getting sick, drop the issue. Nearly every pet food company on the market now has had to issue a recall- voluntary or not- for their foods. At least Timberwolf's was voluntary, and they found nothing wrong with their food. Also, there is no such thing as "Fit For Human Consumption" pet food. All of the meats used in pet foods are from the parts of the animal that weren't "fit for human consumption"...who is going to buy any meat that has to be stripped off the bone to feed to their families for dinner? That's right, no one. That's why these portions of the animal are packaged and shipped to pet food manufacturers, and that's why it's not labelled for human consumption. My dog has been on Timberwolf for about 2 years, and I've never had any problems. Just a note, did anyone ever notice that, even tho the company had "Organics" in the name, that none of their ingredients actually were?! (I'm frankly disgusted at the sly marketing trick they played by leading us all to believe they were organic!) Also, and this is perhaps the MOST important thing to note: THERE IS NO REGULATORY AGENCY FOR USE OF THE TERM ORGANIC IN ANY PET FOOD RELATED ITEMS! Simply put, any company can SAY they buy it organic, and perhaps they do, but there are no laws forbidding them from adding preservatives AFTER they buy it to make the ingredients keep. Let's be logical here ... Organic means no preservatives, and yet any dry bag of dog food has a shelf life of at least 6 months. Hmmm... I simply wont buy a single thing that claims to be organic unless I'm buying it "FDA approved Fit For Human Consumption." Otherwise, it's a very likely waste of money. (Unfortunately, the Billions of dollars made in the dog food industry alone make for greedy company's that put the bottom line ahead of the better health of our animals. I switched my yellow lab to this food thinking it was "better". He enjoyed it at first then refused to eat last summer. I emailed and called them about the food, these exact bags. This began a summer of health problems that ended with my sweet boy passing away in September. He was only 6 years old and I was shocked to see this, and shocked that this company didn't listen to me or alert me when I called them this summer. AWFUL! Don't believe the label that its organic or good for your dog, I made that mistake and I lost my best freind I am horrified and sad to see this.
