Breed Specific Legislation…Make Your Voice Heard
Horst Hoefinger

There’s a movement of citizens inspired by the presidential campaign who are now submitting ideas for how they think the Obama administration should change America. It’s called “Ideas for Change in America.”

The top 10 ideas are going to be presented on Inauguration Day and will be supported by a national lobbying campaign.

Ban Breed Specific Legislation

It is unfair legislation and stereotypes these breeds as violent and vicious animals. Being an owner of 3 American Pit Bull Terriers, this infuriates me. Any dog can be vicious if the owners aren’t responsible. We should crack down on negligent and cruel owners and try to get to the real root of the problem– the humans, and stop punishing innocent animals who have no voice and the owners that love them.

If you would like to make your voice heard go to Ideas for Changing America to vote.  Over 800 votes are still needed to get this topic into the top 10 which would allow it to be presented in Washington, DC.

There are also other animal welfare issues so take a look around the site while you’re there.

Thanks for putting this on the “front page” of Dogster Bo!

Yes, I hope the laws change! I’ve seen Chihuahuas, Dachshunds and Jack Russells that are more vicious than any Pit Bull, Dobe, Rottie or GSD that you can imagine!

You have a cute site. I have been working hard on this site,to help knock
out BSL piece of EVIL Legislation. I do believe it is our best shot of embarrassing the people that are promoting BSL,who hopefully will start getting a little nervous if they think the new President-elect is involved, when Obama was the state senator of Illinois he apparently Banned BSL.
So Guys the cause needs all the votes ,Please Vote and get your friends involved, apparently
you are entitled to 1 vote per E-Mail address you hold.
    Good Luck.

BSL needs to stop the breed of dog has nothing to do with the temperment of the dog, I agree that there are some dogs that are vicious but it is nothing to do with what breed they are, anyone who things all pit bulls, rotties, gsds, etc are all bad should visit DOGSTER and see they can be as loving as any other dog.

I sure hope this gets all the votes it needs so it can go straight to Washington!

Of all the dogs that have bit me, not a one is on any ‘banned breed’ list.

BSL must be stopped, it just don’t make any sense. For years America did it to people,it took many years of fighting to prove one race is as good as another. Same goes animals stop creating laws that hurts a breed. I have been around animals all my life, I know for a fact you have a better chance of being harmed by a human then an (dog) any animal.
