Raise more money for the Mid Atlantic Great Dane Rescue that I was adopted from. There are SO many Great Danes that have fallen on hard times along with their owners and now they are in rescue. Quite a few are very sick and the medical bills are climbing!
I am going to work out even more, along with my old wiener dog, so that he and I can continue to have a long and healthy life.

I am going to miss my Echo (English mastiff) when I go to Africa on a medical mission Jan 23. I will be gone 12 long days from her!! She is my angel baby and such a good girl. I will have to give her extra kisses when I get home.
Binx and I are going to keep working hard on his Service Binx, I mean Dog training this year! We are learning a lot together! That is todays entry, we have many more goals this year though!

I resolve to walk my dogs more this year!
Unfortunately my resolution is the same every year – lose weight. Sometimes I suceed and sometimes I fall short but I keep trying.
We resolve to make our walks longer, to play more ball and frisbee, and Ziggy says he will try really hard to not bite when I cut his toenails.
My resolutions include the standard: to lose weight…I also plan to spend more time with my furkids!!

Mommy’s resolution is to have a heatlhy 2009. We think that means more exercise for us. Yea! We need it! We’ve been feeling sluggish lately. Mommy’s other resolution is to save and spend wisely. We think that might mean more excess money for us in the long run. Which means more treats…which means we will need more exercise. It’s all a vicious cycle you see!
We really think, if we win one of these toys that will not only help Mommy save money but will also help her be healthy when she plays with us with our new toy. Whaddya think?! Sounds like a win-win situation for us all.

Ok, here is another goal for the year! Since Binx and I took CGC (Canine Good Citizen) classes and he passed his test in December our next resolution for this year is to start a different class, thinking Versatility 1. It will help Binx with his concentration and socialization and that will help in his Service training and work that we are both learning!
Woof, our parents told us they’re going to bringing home a baby in June. We’re still not sure what that means, but it better not cut into our play and napping time!!!
While I have lots of goals for this year, Jack’s only goals are to sleep more and play more fetch!!!

We are so happy to start our new year off in our fur-ever home! Our Mama rescued us in November and it has been such a joy to be loved, spoiled, and in a peaceful home.
Mama is happy we are here because now she can really make a resolution to SLOW DOWN- since we love to sit in her lap and make a fuss if she puts us down. We really do give her a reason to just “be.”
We also make her get up and walk a mile and a half every morning. SO she is going to be lookin’ sweet come summer time…the least we can do for her after all she has done for us.

This year I plan on helping a minimum of one dog a month either in my own Bulldog rescue or by helping another rescue. I will achieve this by going to Animal Service and walking a dog, doing home visits for a rescue in California so they can place Pugs in our area, helping a local rescue that gets food for the shelters by helping to unload the truck or whatever it takes.
Both little Yorkie and myself plan on taking more walks together . This is a definite requirement. We were a bit lazy because mom has had problems walking, but as on Monday the 12th, and a special MD appointment,, she is hoping to wallk Lord Pippin , without pain.

I didn’t make a resolution….But my goal for 2009 is to spend less and save more!
The things I’m doing this year are:
1 Trying to be more financially responsible, and following a budget
2 Volunteering at SARGE’s, the animal rescue in my county. Also trying to start my own blanket collection for the local shelters (pretty exciting!)
3 Going back to school!!
I am following my new year’s resolution to walk my dogs every day for at least 45 minutes (rain or shine) and take them somewhere “fun” at least once/week. It’s good for them and me…it helps my mind, the fresh air and exercise is great and most of all it makes our hearts feel all wam and fuzzy!

I’ve decided that dieting, for me, is definitely a “mind” problem. In light of that, every day (several times each day if I can remember) I tell my self this little rhyme (and it does seem to be changing my attitude toward eating!):

I will try to keep to a routine of brushing all 3 dogs teeth each night.

I had an idea on New Year’s Day, to sell a piece of my artwork and donate the entire sale price to a shelter. Well the first sale has gone through, and it was a success. Very happy about that. My resolution is to do this several times through the year, it is great to be able to donate something, and also give art and pet lovers something at the same time.
We promise not to drag Mom through the bushes anymore when we smell raccoons and see squirrels on our walks, we practice really hard to listen when she says stop and stay. It’s difficult for us hounds not to hunt everyday. Mom promises that she will spend more time in the yard playing fetch with us
