Petition To Keep Michael Vick From NFL

For any Dogsters out there that are as disgusted as I am with Michael Vick’s actions, and minimal sentence, there is a petition to ban him from the NFL.
Michael Vick has openly admitted to the fighting, torture, and murder of many pit bulls on his land in Virginia. These dogs were not only fought but murdered in some of the most brutal ways-beating, drowning, hanging, and even electrocution.
For the horrible crimes that Michael Vick has committed, he was sentenced to a mere 23 months in prison, and now his lawyers are announcing that he should be out of prison and in a halfway house by Jan. 20, 2009.
This petition is to encourage the NFL to not reinstate Michael Vick into the NFL EVER! As we all know, famous athletes are supposed to be role models, setting a good example for America and its youth. Michael Vick should never be allowed to play professional football again.
If you agree with this, please sign the petition. For more information on how the dogs lives have been affected please visit http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/02/07/vick.dogs.rehab/index.html
There was a big outcry when the article about Wildside Kennels was posted. Regardless of what side you were on (no need to revisit that argument, you know who I’m talking about) now’s your chance to stand up for what’s important, the dogs.

I signed immediatly. Those poor dogs deserve a voice and its up to us to give it to them. Please sign and help grant these dogs some justice.
I signed too. Those dogs deserve better than a RAT for an owner. Vick gives dog owners a bad name. Pitt Bulls are gentle and loving dogs, willing to do anything for you. But bad owners do bad things and the dogs pay with their lives. IT’S NOT FAIR…
I signed and added a comment to the petition and sent it on to over 15 friends. This creep has to be stopped from making a buck off of this tragedy. I hate it when stars get slapped on the wrist!!
I signed as well. Just the thought of what those poor dogs went through makes me physically ill. He was a role model to so many young people and if they let him back into the NFL what would that be teaching our children?!
I DIDN’T sign, why must we agree to a website’s “terms of service” to sign a petition? Looks like gathering info, maybe that’s more important to the author of the petition than the stated purpose.
I signed this immediately. My comments were that, if he were to be re-instated, that I would never agin support the NFL nor any of its advertisers or sponsors. That is where the pressure needs to come from, if the companies who pay for all of the advertising space at the stadiums and on the television broadcasts saw what impact his re-instatement would have on their bottom line, you can be sure that the NFL would listen to them.
We signed…and we sure hope this petition has some impact on the NFL’s decision. Micheal Vick sickens me.
Abusing dogs or animals is wrong, but what is not happening is the rehabilitation for Michael Vick. Doesn’t Michael Vick deserves a second chance. Why beat this person down to where he cannot make a living. In sincerity Michael has been a product of his environment. Maybe MIke did not know he was doing anything wrong.
Didnt know beating torturing /electrocuting /drowning an animal was wrong?????
But then… I dont believe in the tooth fairy either. I would take everything from him for including citizenship.
There is NO excuse.
What the guy did was wrong…but he is paying his debt to society by serving jail time. HE STILL HAS THE RIGHT TO WORK!!!!!!
I signed this petition. I am horrified that this is even a possibility. How could this criminal be rewarded with a big NFL paycheck after what he has done? The amount of time that he served does not make up for his deeds. These deeds should follow him and haunt him the rest of his life. He did this to himself.
I agree with Malcom and Rome. We DO NOT AGREE with Vick’s actions. Plus who’s to say the NFL will even ALLOW him back. There has to be forgiveness, otherwise we have what we see everyday, ceaseless wars, tragedies and hatred. Work on a solution, cutting someone off from making a living is not going to make him a better person. If what he said about learning his lesson and wanting to help PETA (I think that was the organization) he would be in a much better position as an NFL player. I believe in the law of attraction. You attract to you and the world what you put out. Lets attract love and forgiveness.
it has been signed. he’s a murderer and torturer. may he rott in he**
Michael Vick not only admitted to killing pits, but he also killed family pets. They would throw them in the ring to train the fighting dogs. How many families posted signs about their missing loved ones and they were used as bait.
I was in the courtroom in Richmond,VA when he took his plea. He has no remorse and basically is getting away with murder. The VA prosecutor has given him a golden pass. Makes me very happy that I moved from that state a few months ago.
PLEASE sign this and pass it along to everyone you know.
Thank you!
I don’t believe Michael Vick or anybody else at doesn’t know that killing and torturing animals is wrong, it’s basic decency regardless of your environment. Someone who thinks there’s nothing wrong in such horrible acts does not belong in the free community.
Michal Vick is sorry that he got caught, he’s not sorry for the lives he took, he’s not sorry for the pain and suffering he inflicted on this creatures. He hasn’t shown remorse he’s just sorry for himself.
NO, he sould not be given a chance to go back to the NFL, he should be allowed to work at something else just not go back to professional sports where young people will look up to him as an example of someone who got away with murder.
I signed the petition and i’m forwarding it.
He does NOT have the right to ANYTHING, work, clothing, ANYTHING!! He lost his “rights” when he started torturing animals. What is wrong with people? You people that think he deserves a break should be put in those dogs’ place for a week or so, and THEN see what you have to say. That only thing that scum deserves is the same treatment his dogs got, before they were taken away from him.
ETA: DO you all not see the horrible picture of the dog at the top of this post?? And that isn’t even the most horrible one. And you feel SORRY FOR HIM that he doesn’t get a second chance??? Disgusting.
Please sign the petition….. People like Vick FEED FROM RECOGNITION OF OTHERS( and he will feel that way again if he gets praise in the NFL) give him what he deserves to go find work earning the minimum wage……
I signed it. I believe in forgiveness. But what is to stop him from going right back at it again. Those defenseless animals didn’t have a choice. He did. He made the wrong one. Money was more important than the lives of those dogs. I wouldn’t want him to be a role model for any of my Children or Grandchildren. He shouldn’t be allowed to get a big fat check from the NFL to torture, kill and mutilate animals.
Justice isn’t served until we put Michael Vick in a cage with a bear and see how he likes it.
To “Dancer” after you server your sentence…YOU GET YOUR RIGHTS BACK….plus he killed DOGS!! he did not kill people. and yes i see the picture of the DOG…not a human. i dont feel sorry for him one bit. he lost millions of dollars….and HE IS SERVING JAIL TIME…what more do you want them to do to the guy for killing dogs…should he be excuted or something.. he killed DOGS!!! and yes he does have the RIGHT TO WORK!!!! should his family starve over some dogs?? does your brain work “dancer”?
To “Dancer”and what does the “you people” comment mean?
Yes, Dancer, we saw the picture. I am horrified by it. Rome, read the article “just a dog”. Dogs are sentient beings just like people, they feel pain, love and loss. They are also forgiving of our many faults, they love unconditionally, unlike people. The death and mistreatment of ANY animal is not something to be taken lightly, however dogs tend to bring out a great deal more emotion in people because they are closer to our hearts due to their many Godlike qualities. DOG is GOD spelled backward.
Rome, when you say you don’t feel sorry for him on bit, are you referring to the dog or MIchael Vick? Its difficult to tell by the way you wrote it.
I read the new issue of SI and the cover is dedicated to a rehabilitated Vick dog. This makes me so furious that I feel this man should be locked up before he finds other victims. Anyone who can abuse a dog…especially a dog…should be kept locked up for public safety reasons, as well as for punishment. No NFL for Vick…no contract, no money to spend, no freedom from prosecution.
Erika i meant i am not sorry for vick…he should lose money and go to jail which he did….but thats enough. when he gets out he should be able to go back to the NFL…..which he will…cause he served his debt to society and he can still play ball….so some owner will give him a job…..HAHAHA sorry “dancer”….he will be rich again…..and you will be broke and mad LOL. Most people who dont want him to go back to the NFL are just jealous
Heck No!!! He should never be able to play football
again!! what he did was terribly wrong!! Please dont use the excuse he did,nt know what he was doing!! was wrong!! any 2year old could figure that out!! He isnt anything in my eyes but a killer of pets and animals. he should stay in jail and have to pay for what he did!! As for a job!! I,am sure McDonalds is always hiring! He doesnt belong back in football!!
jealous of what? that you think its ok for what he did!! You are just as stupid as he is! A poor person with no feeling!! Feel sorry for you!!
Ok we need to be ready Vick will be released this Summer. Watch Dog Town on National Geographics Channel to see how Vicks dogs are being taken care of now.
Vick didn’t even bath or show any affection to these babies. We need to make sure that money and greed from the NFL does not cause Vick to be back involved with the NFL.
Keep Vick out of the NFL for 2009 and ever!!
Rome: All Pete Rose did was bet on some games, (A legal, though shady, activity), to get kicked out of baseball; he was a star player too.
Vick has killed an untold number of “Man’s Best Friend”, in the most horrendous ways while committing an illegal activity, dog fighting. But more crimes were committed during the process having to do with the money being made and laundered, smuggling dogs, etc. If he had to actually serve the time for each crime he committed, he’d be serving life w/o parole. 5yrs here, 10yrs there, it all adds up. But Mr. Star Footballer got his wrist slapped, just like every celebrity does. He who has money walks away; He who has none has to pay.
Have no doubt, Vick will be back on the gridiron earning his millions. He will send a few thousand tokens to show he has reformed. Meanwhile he will be looking for a new bloodsport to invest in. Probably in the Far East where eating cats & dogs is a daily thing. He will find a way. He’s a violent person and he’s tasted blood.
This man should have got the same treatment that he gave those poor dogs. I would just a soon see him shoveling dog shit for the next 50 years, not returning to the NFL, please give me a break!
Ok guys, I am sooo against dog fighting and the overall mistreatment of animals especially being Pit Bull owners. But I think we are going to far here. Please don’t get upset with me, hear me out. Yes what Mike Vick did was horrendous. And he was punished by the law. We should not focus SO much on one individual in attempt to just simply ruin him if our focus is in fact the dogs – all dogs. Our focus would be better served at apprehending ALL of the other little known dog fighters and breeders for the purpose of dog fighting and punish them too. Going after Vick to this extent is more likely to gain him fans then actually deter folks from this lifestyle. Education is needed. Detectives are needed and stricter laws on the books. This my dogster friends is where we should spend our time. Let the man repay his debt, lets’ see if this has impacted how he feels towards animals, I mean after all isn’t that what we really want? Isn’t that success, in turning someone around, in changing their ways? Let’s take a lesson from the dogs here, THEY are very forgiving. Shouldn’t we be too? Just a thought.
There is a special place in hell reserved for the likes of Vick.
No one is saying he doesn’t deserve a job, just not a multi-million dollar a year one. He should be able to get a good job with his education that was given to him for playing football (provided he actually went to class, lol), spending the next 30-40 years working in a cubicle like the rest of us would be just fine. He can feed his family, just not in the manner he has been accustomed to. I’d give him a job for the median wage that we all have to live on, what’s wrong with that?
Thanks for posting this! I saw a report on the news tonight and wanted to sign ! Hopefully more of my friends will sign!
People,
We all know that Michael Vick is a class A jerk. But, if anyone hires him for any job, just don’t do business with that entity.Like Birdy says, he’ll get his when he dies. Until then, do not do business with any entity that does business with Michael Vick. Express yourself with your wallet. It will keep him regretting this incident the rest of his life. Money means everything to his kind, and without it, he is nothing. God bless and Happy New Year!
AS CHILDREN OF GOD WE SHOULD ALL LEARN TO FORGIVE…
I think it is truly ridiculous that a group of people can be that hateful. Mike has served his time for dogfighting. The others involved in the case, who physically acted out the crimes, had lesser charges. Everyone has made mistakes in their lives. There are some celebrities who have done worse things than this. Why make it impossible for him to earn a living using his GOD given talents? Pllaying football has nothing to do with dogfighting. The energy you are putting into making his life miserable can be used to HELP others in need. Apparently, you want to help animals and INFLUENCE human life. GO HELP THE HOMELESS or one of his charities that he can no longer support because there are groups like you
We must take care of our dogs and cats just as we must take care of our elderly family and friends. Without people like us, they would not stand a chance.
If this was anyone else but a football player, they would be in jail and punished to the max. Anyone that does what he did. The next step is killing someone. Lets stop him know. NJ
Susan-pete rose gambled against the TEAMS HE WAS ON!!!that messes with the integrity of the game. Dog fighting does not mess with the integrity of the NFL…it makes vick look like a complete FOOL but it does not mess with the game itself. and as far as you all that think not doing business with the nfl for not banning him for life….far more people will pay to see him play than will not…. SO HE WILL BE BACK IN THE NFL HAHAHA and Happy new year LOL
and to the people that say he got a slap on the writs, you are just dumb….he lost millions and went to prison…how the hell is that a slap on the writs??…you have got to be kidding me. i guess he should have got life in prison or something like that right…
Bernie what in the hell is the “his kind” comment supposed to mean? you sound like a broke biggot, dont you know that?
I personally think everyone that is against Michael Vick is putting too much time into this situation. Everyone acts like they have never made a bad decision in their life. I wonder how many judgements you would receive if your dirty laundry was known. Remember God ALWAYS forgive you for everything you do & will never leave your side. How dare any of you even try to do his job & judge anyone. I do not agree with what he did but he has admitted his guilt & served his time. How do you even determine that someone should not do what they are good at? If you feel this strongly about animals go after the ones that train their animals to attack…. look at how many people that have been attacked/killed by different animals. Find some other focus…. try figuring out how to solve our economy problem.
to dianna: jealous that he gonna make millions and you wont….and as far as not having feelings YOU ARE THE DUMB ONE FOR VALUING A DOG MORE THAN A HUMAN…and i said what he did was wrong and he should pay…and he is paying. and he will be back in the NFL. happy new year dianna HAHAHA
Rome I’ve read many of your arguments in regards to Vick’s future. Well there are lots of other jobs out there that he maybe able to fill, but he’ll have to make it through the part of the app. that asked if you’ve ever been convicted of a FELONY. He shouldn’t even be allowed to vote. And yes I understand you point about making a mistake, and maybe Markus (his little brother) did to when he pulled a 9mm on a guy in a fast food parking lot in Suffolk Va, and OJ probable did to when him and some of his friends went in with guns drawn. They all said they were sorry and they made a mistake. Maybe we could get Jesse an Al to weigh in on this and we can get them all back in the NFL. It sounds like the only mistake made is getting caught.
Here we are at the start of 2009 – a New Year and you people are still dripping with bitterness and hatred. What miserable people you must be. But I am so happy that God didn’t leave any of you in charge of any one else’s fate – or none of us would ever be forgiven as he forgives all of us every day. Yes ALL OF US – EVEN HATEFUL YOU! Only God can and will judge Mike Vick. And ONLY God will determine if he plays in the NFL again. So petition all you want. YOU ARE NOT GOD. Happy New Year! Peace and Love To All.
You’re attacking the wrong side of the equation. Focus on the demand, not the suppy.
As long as he has the marketable athleticism, Vick will find a job in the NFL. It’s a business and owners value his ability to put bodies in the seats. If you want to prevent Vick from working in the NFL, don’t attack the league or the owners, focus your efforts on the public that supports them. If you’re that serious, stop watching the NFL and cease spending your money on the league’s products and boycott the corporations that sponsor and advertise during games. Encourage people you know to do the same (and see how successful you are). The only way to solve issues in a capitalist society is to study the economics.
And another point everyone seems to be missing is this: Vick wasn’t a good quarterback to begin with. While athletic, he didn’t possess the necessary mental capacity to excel in the NFL. Mobile, running quarterbacks have never been sucessful at the professional level and now that he’s past his prime, his prospects are limited.
Your emotions are valid, but think about how to truly attack the issue before spouting off braindead cliches about how Vick should be treated like the dogs he abused. Use a modicum of intellect and stop with the diatribes.
And finally, it is always easy to single out the simpleminded sheep in a group. They are the ones who have nothing intelligent to add to a conversation so they constantly bring up religion and preach about topics they know nothing about, such as forgiveness. These are the true morons of society, those that fear critical thought and need to be told who to follow and how to act. Quoting the bible is the simplest and quickest way to ruin your credibility and announce your lack of education and common sense.
Virginia Beach:do you know why his brother pulled out a gun on that guy in the fast food joint? and the NFL hires Felons HA HA HA….as far as OJ..i think he is done now…dont you?but this site is about vick right…so lets stay on the topic….the bottom line is this…after he serves his jail time he gets his rights back and he will be in the NFL…Have a happy new year Virginia Beach LOL
Okinajuan:Mobile quarterbacks are not good at the pro level???ever heard of a guy named “Mcnaab” what are you talking about? that “mobile quarterback” just torched one of the best defences (vikings) in the NFL for 300 PASSING YARDS ….. before you make a comment why dont you make sure you know what you are talking about?
Okinajuan took the time to write an entire book only to reveal his entire ignorance. Yet he thinks he’s smarter than every one else. But then that’s what ignorance does. McNabb is invisible to him.
Well said Success
Rome you are a joke he should not be allowed to play in the NFl he sucked anyway. but that beside the fact that he killed hundreds of animals. He didnt do that much time. your just ignorant thats all if i was to kill hundreds of animals i would be in prison the rest of my life. The reason he shouldnt be allowed back is he had 100’s of millions why would you have to do that with all that money. Its not like he was in the streets trying to survive he was in a big house killing helpless animals.
to the people who say he deserves a second chance, this was his 3rd chance, he was caught in Miami with possession of drugs and attempting to sneak them on a plane in a water bottle, and he settlled out of court on charges of spreading STD’s to random women under an assumed name Ron Mexico, not to mention illegal gambling, the dog fighting was the icing on the cake, the man is only sad he got caught he does not give a damn how badly those dogs suffered at his hands so take your second chances and shove um! 3 strikes and your out in my eyes
HE SHOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO PLAY NFL AGAIN WHAT HE DID WAS WRONG AND HE SHOULDNT EVEN BE LIVING AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED I AM A PITBULL OWNER
He is a liar and he’s been doing this since he was a child…for years. His own father and grandfather have publicly said this…they thought he would “GROW OUT OF IT”. They are just as stupid as he is as far as I’m concerned. He’s a piece of garbage that needs to be left out of the NFL. They have enough felons playing as it is. The NFL is becoming a joke and soon they are going to have to ask…who’s going to buy the tickets? If he’s let back in…I’m done with the NFL and I’ve been a fan since 1961. I can spend my money somewhere else. It would make me sick to think he was getting one cent from me.
Make the man sell his houses and donate all the money to the shelters like Best Friends Sanctuary who are trying to help these dogs!! DO NOT LET HIM PLAY AND BE RICH! If he does play, 80% of his salary should go to the sanctuaries…he can easily live on the rest. And he should never be able to own another animal again. Ever!
This is for all those of you who think Vick’s prison sentence was sufficient and that we should forgive him and let him do what he wants… how about if Vick tortured and killed your dog(s)? What if he tortured and killed your family (because a dog is part of the family) and only served an 18 month sentence? Let’s see how sympathetic you are then. It’s easy not to care about things that don’t affect you personally. Personally, I would like to see Vick put in a ring alone (no weapons) with an entire pack of angry, hungry pitbulls and fight to the death (just like he forced all those dogs to do). I know that won’t happen in this life, but maybe in hell that will be his eternal punishment. One can only hope.
Micheal Vick does not belong in the NFL – not because he “shouldn’t be allowed to make a living” but because he shouldn’t be allowed to be a role model for young people. He needs help, but he also did a major wrong to society and spending a portion of such a short sentence at home hardly seems fair. I have a wonderful adopted Pitbull who was abused in his previous home. He is the sweetest and most gentle dog I have ever known. I cannot image the kind of person that could hurt and kill an animal like this being a role model for the youth of America. That makes me sick to my stomach.
This is shameful! What is the NFL thinking allowing Vick to return to football? What are the Eagles thinking hiring him? As an animal lover and employee of Greenville Humane Society in South Carolina, I am disgusted and feel betrayed. I am glad to see Vick attempting to make ammends for his horrific abuse towards animals, but surely the public can see he is doing this to regain acceptance and his place and salary in the NFL………?? His name will forever be associated with dogfighting and all of the violence, ignorance and cruelty that implies. A “hero” on a national sports team–NO HOW–NO WAY!!! I have lost all respect I had for the NFL and certainly do not plan to buy tickets or NFL related promotional items as long as Michael Vick is associated with the organization, and will encourage others to do the same. The NFL should be ashamed of themselves.
