Hi Bill,

It seemed that the judges placed a lot of weight on the dog who showed the most growth throughout the competition. Naturally a younger dog would have the better chance of winning. Were you and the other contestants with older, more trained dogs ever told that this would be the determining factor before the competition started?

Are there any plans of future seasons?

Thanks.

What were the first things you ever taught Star? What does your wife think of yours and Star's celebrity? Did you come away learning anything from the other contestants and what did you learn? Christmas is coming soon. Do you buy Star gifts for Christmas? Is there any one thing Star does you can't get her to stop?

Hi Bill,
Now that you have left canine academy, are you more confident with Star?

Did this make you prove that your dog can do all of the challenges?

Do that feel good to you?

Hi Bill and Star,
Like we told you when we became pals, our mommy has diabetes also. We were just wondering since you are famous now, if you would use your fame for diabetes awareness? We were thinking it would be wonderful if you walked one of the JDRF walk for a cure events or maybe volunteered at a summer camp for kids with diabetes (Camp Conrad-Chinnock in southern California is a great one!)

Was it harder for your wife Sherrie to monitor her blood sugar while Star was gone on the show?
Do you have Star's painting and professional photo from GAD somewhere in your house?

We just loved watching you and Star on Greatest American Dog! We think Star is sooo special for what she did for her mommie! We just wanted to say we think you both should have won. I stopped watching after you and Star left!

You did a wonderful job working with her and I too believe that positive reinforcement is the best option.

We could see the pain in your face Bill when Star got hurt ~ I couldn't bare to watch it. That just broke my heart! I was glad she was ok.

We all hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday season. You all are truly blessed.

Dear Bill, We adopted Pepper a 9 yr old rough collie last year who is very sweet tempered but she was never taught ANY even basic obedience. She is totally different from our 3 yr old male collie Murphy who will do anything for food or even from our 12 yr old sheltie who is so eager to please.
Pepper loves treats but doesn't quite "get" the reward system. If you use firm commands, she sulks and acts all submissive. And if you use a happy sweet voice, she might eventually come to you but you might have forgotten you even called her by the time she gets there. Do you have any tips for working with older submissive dogs? Most important to me is "Come" for safety reasons at least but I'd love a sit and down too.

I just loved watching you work with Star and advise the other pet owners. Your positive reinforcement was great. I think Travis really learned a lot from you too.
And, you really touched my heart and made me cry when you were finally able to talk to your wife who I can tell is your soul mate and best friend.
Bless you heart Bill, and Star's too!

Did you resent being kicked off the show because star was tired? I thought she did an amazing job trying to impress you, but older dogs sometimes just don't like pups. Is that how you feel?
