Trick Or…Win A Treat
Horst Hoefinger

We’re  having some Halloween fun here at Dogster, a trick or treat  giveaway.

Pet Botanics, by Cardinal,  has given us three bags of Healthy Omega Chicken Treats for Dogsters to win.

These healthy treats contain nine simple and easily digestible ingredients, dogs love them.

The top, middle and bottom layers are codfish, known for its low fat content and for Vitamins A, D and omega 3 & 6 fatty acids. The two thick, inner layers are made of a mixture of chicken and sweet potato.

This provides a balance of protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Sweet potatoes, which contain a lot of potassium, and chicken are easily digestible sources of energy.

To win just share a something to do with Halloween and your dog, anything it doesn’t matter, and leave under the comment section. The contest starts today and ends Wednesday, November  5th when I will randomly choose three winners.

  1. rachel crisman

Well, last year my dog stole our candy dish that we use for trick or treaters but I caught him before he ate too many Smarties.

  2. Angela and Stormy

Hello my name is Angela and Stormy is my dog.

2yrs ago on Halloween we were giving out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. The door to our house was open but the screen door was closed. Stormy got scared at the Halloween costumes and barked when she saw them come up to get candy. She scared one little boy so badly that he ran and I had to go to his parents car to give him his candy.

  3. Britnian Henry

This year was Kylie’s first year trick-or-treating. She had a blast! We walked her for 2 hours & she loved it. All the trick-or-treaters thought it was fun to pet & play with her. But this little girl came up to see her, bent down & Kylie stole the whole bag of candy from the little girl!

  4. Laney's Mom

Laney will be helping me pass out candy to trick-or-treaters tonight.

  5. Dori, Ruby & Jaime

The girls will be keeping us company as we watch scary movies tonight. Ruby will probably end up hiding under the blankets when the monsters pop out, but Dori is a little braver!

  6. Sadie Lickin's

    Anything???

Woof, woof, woof. I’ll bark at those Holloweeners!

  7. Talladega

Tally is known throuhout the neiborhood as a real good dog. Even though of course she will bark at the costumes that come to our door. But some of our “Regular” Trick or Treaters will come to our house with a Milkbone for Tally when they get their candy.

  8. Maddy

We’ll be watching It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and handing out candy tonight!

  9. The Cali Crew

Unfortunately, we’ll be all alone tonight. The family won’t be home! :-( We hope we won’t get too “spooked” being by ourselves! Yappy Howloween, everypup!

  10. Daisy

Daisy is dressing up as a Taco. How cute? A Taco Chihuahua! Perfect costume!

  11. Lizzie

This is Lizzie’s 1st halloween, but we aren’t taking her out hos year, we are just going to watch some scary movies

  12. Shandi

Shandi likes to bark at all the trick or treaters that come to our house

  13. Murphy (Smurphy)

Every Halloween I will put Murphy in his costume and have him sit out front with me while I hand out candy for a little bit of course he gets lots of pets and attention from the little kids. Then I go for a walk around the neighborhood with him in his costume and some of our neighbors give him dog treats. It’s really nice!

  14. Freda

My dog Diamonds barks the entire time when the treaters come around. She can not stand the costumes. She is a outside dog which I have to bring her inside for the night. She expects a treat everytime we give treats out.

  15. Val & Gracie, Mozart & Wolfgang

Mom & Dad took us boys to Roundtree today to take pictures in their pawsome Halloween display. Thank Dog Dad was there or Dracula mighta got us :)

  16. Bille

Our dogs Nero(3) and Homer(2) like to act wacko when the doorbell rings. On Halloween night, however, we use the trick-or-treaters as “training tools” for the barksome duo. Every time someone appears on our stoop or the doorbell rings, we give them a small piece of chicken jerky for NOT barking. My husband and I joke that the boys are going to have a sick stomach from all the trick-or-treats!

  17. Gretchen, Dori, Freckles, Dottie

Well, since Dottie is still a puppy and has a voracious chewing problem, anything she can find goes in her mouth, mom had to replace the plastic cauldron she used to use for treats. Dottie ate it. Mom had washed it cause it had all sorts of gross stuff from the basement in it, pop tends to use it as a catch all for junk, and she set it on a chair to dry. Well pop needed a place to sit and he took the cauldron off the chair and sat it on the floor. No one paid any attention to Dottie cause they got busy. Well next thing mom knew she went to get the cauldron and There were teeth marks all over it and pieces had been chewed off and right there inside of it sound asleep after all her destruction was Dottie. Puppys what pains in the tails they are.

  18. Tyler

Tyler doesn’t bat an eyelid at anything so halloween is no different!

  19. Athens, Austin, Braedey, Kenzie and Tucker

We all went on a walk around a place called the Avenue. The kids were trick or treating at the shops. They were all dressed in cool costumes and mommy and daddy said they were very proud of us because we didn’t bark or anything and were very polite pups! Plus we LOVED the extra attention!

  20. Dahlia

I would like to believe that my dog’s barking at all the trick or treaters is due to the fact that I hate to part with all the good chocolate!

  21. Layla

My mom calls me the Monster Dog, and that’s what she dressed me up as for my first halloween! All the humans loved to see me, and it was fun running around being a monster until I saw a big scary human monster dressed as a witch and I had to run and hide.

  22. Dawn

This was Bo’s first Halloween, so I dressed him up like a little devil and then went trick or treating with the neighbor’s little girl (Cayci) and then we went for a hayride. Bo absoluetly loved it and loved being dressed up too. And all the little trick or treaters thought he was the coolest thing. We had so much fun, too bad I forgot the camera when we left the house and only have before pics. Cayci was a little disappointed he didn’t match her being dressed up as Hannah Montana but she said it’s ok because he’s a boy. And she’s already planning next halloween for us, LOL. I loved it!

  23. Maggi Williams

My dog Smokey was a devil last year for Halloween and we decided to go to the old folks home to hand out treats and to say hello. The joy he brought was amazing!! They didn’t want him to leave. But they were not the only ones who got treats….the people gave him treats too!!! It was dinner time when we got there so he got some chicken and veggies.

  24. Shannon

This year my neighborhood had night time trick or treating, but only within a designated area. Well, my block was just outside of the designated area, so not one single person came to my house. But maybe it’s for the best since Jackson always runs to the door in excitement whenever the doorbell rings, and he really shouldn’t be running right now since he has to have surgery next week for a torn cruciate(sp?) ligament.

  25. Veronica Morris

This year was Ollie’s first Halloween. He is a silver standard poodle puppy, so he is currently mostly black. We gave him a short haircut over most of his body, but left a mane and tail. We used cornstarch to create white stripes and he went as a Zebra! He liked not having to wear an outfit, the only downfall was that he left clouds of cornstarch wherever he went!

  26. Nugget, Daisy Mae and Duke

We try to do at least one costume contest with the dogs each Halloween. Last year we started a new tradition of taking Duke to the Chiesta event each Halloween. Chiesta is done by Chihuahua rescue and transport and it’s a really fun event! And Duke is the same size as most of those dogs so his comfort level is higher, which helps since he’s dressed up and feeling silly!
So, we just try to get them out in a goofy costume!

  27. Shiloh and Isabelle's Mom

Halloween is our favorite holiday! It’s the only day of the year that Shiloh and Isabelle get to dress up and it’s the day that I get to embarass them just a little :)

Shiloh was dressed as a cow, complete with udders and horns; and Isabelle was a ballerina with a cute little pink tutu to match her pink collar. Now, it’s worth noting that Shiloh is a recently rescued black great dane and Isabelle is a blk lab/dane mix (a Katrina rescue). Needless to say, they get attention whereever we go, but dressed in their costumes, they were treated like rock stars – everyone wanted to pet them!

They both won a prize at doggy day care, which was worth the teasing I am sure they endured from the other dogs! But the best part of the day came when we got home and waited for the trick or treaters. The neighborhood kids LOVED being greeted at the glass door by the giant cow and the prima balleria. And Shiloh and Isabelle enjoyed the attention and curiously looked at the very unique costumes on the other side of the door!

As the newest addition to the family, this was Shiloh’s first Halloween, but she can’t wait to see what she gets to be next year!

  28. tobias and sasha bean

I made a video for dogster its on our page. We had alot of fun making it and my human sister gave us yummy treats.
Mom bought us a pumpkin costume and mr.bone treats.
Sasha bean is scared of Halloweeners so she stayed in her crate and I (tobias ) scare Halloweeners so I was bannished to my crate, they’re just too scarey.

  29. Cindy Maniglia

For Halloween, my 2-year-old Bichon Frise – Chloe Honeygo Beasley – donned a fluffy, baby pink boa feather in her hair and went as a Can-Can Circus dog. We had three doggie trick-or-treaters that day, and everyone got a Milk-Bone treat! Visit honeygobeasley.blogspot.com to see the pictures. Happy Howl-o-woof-ween!

  30. Chester

This year was Chester’s first Halloween. Him and his sister barked each time the doorbell rang and they wanted to greet the kids so badly if it wasn’t for the fact they were fenced away from the front door so that I could dispense candy without fighting two fuzzy ones from greeting our guests. Near the end of the night, when I thought all of the trick or treaters had gone, I took down the fence so that Chester and Dana could roam about the house as usual. Then a late trick or treater came and sure enough Dana and Chester got to the door before me. Chester was able to squeeze himself outside to greet the children. Then one of the children said: “Trick or treat! Oh! Can I have your dog as my treat instead of candy?”

  31. Stacey P., Winston (dec.) and Webster

Our dog former dog Winston, who passed away last September, would put on his therapy dog vest(that we had packed full of candy) along with his Superman costume and he would sit out on the front porch adn have the kids get the candy from his vest. He so loved it. Our new therpay dog in training, Webster, wore his mailman costume this year and trick-or-treated with my 3 young children. We tried to get him to pass out candy but he just wanted to eat it! He is a work in progress.

  34. anna

Sophie didn’t hold back her barks this year trying to scare the trick or treaters. Her caterpillar costume may have been bugging her a little.

  35. Checkers

For Halloween I dressed up as a skunk and sat out front around the fire with mom, dad and the neighbors. Lots of people took pictures of me as they got their treats from us.
