Please take a moment to read about George and sign the petition on behalf of him.
George has lived with his loving companion for nearly 5 years at Town Village Retirement Community. He has given smiles and warmth to all that have crossed his path.
Residents in the community know him by name and look forward to seeing his sweet face and being able to pet or walk him. Just recently a complaint was made to management about his size.
Without hesitation management has given George 2 weeks notice that he must leave his loving companion of 10 years. Please sign this petition in favor of George and his elderly companion so that they might stay together and continue to bring not only companionship and love to one another, but to many others who have come to know and love him in the community.
If you feel George should not be banished because of one complaint you can help by signing his petition. Keep in mind, he has never been a threat to anyone, this is simply because of his size. George may be what keeps his human going, it would be very sad to separate them.
That is terrible. Five years with no problwms, and after one complaint, George is given a two week notice? That is awful. The management should be ashamed of themselves for trying to seperate this dog from his elderly owner. I hope the petition works
This will be very negative for the facility!!! I also think the tennant could take some legal ramifications. George is family!
I would be curious as to how long ther person who complained has been there. If it has been longer than 5 years why did they wait so long, and if shorter why did they choose to move in if they knew that the dog lived there. It would be much easier for that person to find one of the many places that do not allow pets, they obviously hate animals, so why choose to live somewhere that accepts them?
After 5 yrs George has to leave over ONE complaint? and what is so wrong with his size? Is he as big as an elephant? How mean and petty of the person who complained and how stupid of management to heed this person’s counsel. Goes without saying i’m signing the petition and forwarding it too!
I have a few choice words for this person that complained and the managment. If the animal is causing a problem that is one thing,but after 5 yrs that must be out of the question. So it boils down to 1 person lets just hope for that persons sake he’sor she is not over weight because someone may move in that says they are to big. The people there should stand up for the rights of this family and take them to task.
A Dogster contacted the home and spoke to someone who said the story wasn’t true–that George was never in danger of being booted out. I, like Sully & Socks’ owner, believe that the story WAS true, but that the home has since reversed it’s stand due to public outcry. Anyway you look at it, George STAYS!!!

Here in Canada people take their dogs to homes and hospitals as they are great for therapy. And by the way 1 complaint doesn’t do it in a democracy!
Let the dog stay and throw the complainer out in 2 weeks.
I think that George should be allowed to stay. I also think that the complainer should take a look at themselves, are they too big? maybe they should step on the scale! I am a size 0-2, My plane tix cost the same as the passenger who weighs 250+ pounds. maybe there should be size limits everywhere!
