Two Police Officers Hit Pet Dogs
Horst Hoefinger

In North Wales, UK two officers living together are facing possible jail time for cruelty against their pet dogs.

A neighbor who had noticed some disturbing behavior called the RSPCA, when they came out to evaluate the situation they found no evidence of abuse.

Now comes the award for good neighbor (to dogs) of the year, she took it upon herself to set up a camera to get the abuse on film.

Prosecuting, Glenn Murphy said: “To her credit this lady purchased a camera and she took many hours of video footage.”

A DVD, about 15-20 minutes in length, was played to the court.

In one scene Mason was filmed hitting the pup’s head and kicking her.

Later the dog was seen pulling washing from a line before Macleod emerged from the house and chased it to a corner of the yard. Out of shot of the camera the dog could then be heard yelping.

Officers Anja Mason, 29 and Craig Macleod, 34 now face losing their jobs.  Both have been removed from frontline duty pending the outcome of the case.  Thanks to the caring neighbor these two will hopefully get what they deserve.

Thats so horrible. I am so glad they were caught on tape and I hope they get more than just taken off the front line. These are police officers. If they treat animals like this how do they treat people?

  2. Teri

Reading things like this makes me sick, Thanks to the neighbor these people will get what they deserve. How anyone can harm an innocent animal is beyond me. I just with I could be the one to give them their punishment.

  3. Denise

People like this make me sick! If you can’t take care of your own pets, then you SHOULDN’T HAVE ANY! I’m so glad that the neighbor caught these slimy police officers on tape. Like Athens above said - if this is how they treat animals, how do they treat people?

  4. deanie

    good job neighbor!
i cannot believe my eyes. these people would actually chase down their dogs to kick and/or hit them! those poor dogs would actually PULL away but those horrible people continued the beating! what is wrong with some people! I hope they lose their jobs and then some!!!

  5. Tracey

Not sure why some people feel the need to treat their pets so badly. When I read stories like this, it just makes me so sad. If you don’t have the patience, understanding and caring in your heart, do not get a pet, they do not deserve this treatment. Poor babies, I hope they are now living their lives happy and that someone is taking extra care with them. They have rights too and hopefully these officiers will learn something, I am sure if they were sleeping and their house was burning, their dogs would do all they could to help them, unconditional love is all pets give and want.

Thank God for that neighbor, if it wasn’t for her, who knows what would have happened? It just goes to show you there are still SOME good people in this world. Those two morons don’t deserve to be police oficers. Police officers are supposed to uphold morals and be an example to us; make us feel safe. And now they can’t even take care of their owns pets- how sad. I hope those pups are getting the life they deserve.

  7. Bonnie

Thank gosh this woman was able to capture it on film. Otherwise the cops would have been enabled to continue abusing and not being held accountable. Animals have no voice to state when they are abused but boy do they have the signs. I am just glad about hearing this came to light before the dogs had to die. Only a sick person with anger problems takes out their personal frustrations on a defenseless animal. I am also a person who gets involved when I see sketchy crap going on…especially when I know a person or animal is victimized. I don’t back down and am glad others don’t either!!!

I would like to know if there is anything we can do to make sure that they are not just taken off the frontlines, but lose their jobs all together and face criminal charges. These people deserve the worst! JAIL TIME AND UNEMPLOYMENT! What a shame to think these people serve and protect the public.
On the other hand, good for the neighbor. She deserves our graditude in deed. Kudos to her!

  9. woof

They should be shot or at least taught a lesson on being humane

  10. dianna

I,am so glad they got caught!! What a pair of pukes!! I hope they get into alot of trouble!! They dont deserve to be police officers. They are suppose to be examples of protecting lifes. Not Destroying Them!! I dont feel sorry for anybody who abuses their pets or human life! They are as bad as drug dealers!! They should all spend time in jail. And be treated the same way as they treated the innocent!! Thank The Good Lord!! That we have Neighbors who stand up to people like that!!

  11. Susan

When I was done reading this story, I could not believe that 2 sworn officers of the law could do such idiotic, inhumane, cruelest acts of cruelty I have ever heard of. They are suppose to protect & serve, & yet here they are in there own backyard kicking & hitting 2 defenseless dogs, just imagine how they would be with the general public, or worse, if they had kids & the kids accidently did something wrong like wetting the bed for example. I would hate to be living under the same roof with these people. Doing these acts are not worth going jail over unless they really don’t like there jobs in which case there are better ways of leaving there jobs.

Now as for the neighbor who saw & taped these horiffic acts, I applaud her for having the guts to go out there & tape these acts were the police wouldn’t do anything but cover there behinds & the behinds of there follow officers.

  12. Sandy

Those two deserved to be caught. Officers of the law whom
people look up to, shame on them. If they did this sort of thing
to animals, could you imagine what they could do to children?
Shame on them!! They are a disgrace to the uniform they wear
    to uphold the law!!

  13. Buffy

The world is blessed to have such a caring woman. She should be honored for her actions, too many people would have turned their backs on a problem like this. Thinking that someone else will handle it or being afraid of retailiation by the abusive owners would leave a sweet dependant animal defenceless. Much love to that brave neighbor!

  14. Shelby & Lauren

Thanks, hugs, & appreciative doggy licks to the neighbor, we need more people like her that care enough to get involved…to go that extra mile to stop the atrocities against animals going on everywhere! I hope those poor dogs are with loving owners now. As for the “officers,” they are obviously not fit to be in ANY position of authority & should be dishonorably discharged. Hell has a special place reserved for evil people like them.

  15. Brenda

Fantastic, caring neighbor. She went out of her way and cared,
when no one else did!! I too would hate to see how these two(do I have to say officers?) would treat another human being. They should loose their jobs and be charged!!
