Alleged Dog Training Ring Broken
In Riviera Beach, FL Pit Bulls were taken from a home where suspected dog fight training was taking place.
A phone call about a dog in distress led officials to the home, Animal Care and Control were the first to respond.
At the house they found enough evidence to get a warrant for a full search.
Four pit bulls were taken from 446 West 14th street. Frank Huggins was arrested for a felony violation of animal fighting. The house belongs to his brother who could also face charges.
The dogs have multiple scars on their bodies and some had open wounds on their face and neck.
Deputies also removed a treadmill used to run dogs, weights, chains and needles. Investigators say the heavy weights are put on the dogs collars to strengthen them. They say there were other signs the dogs were being trained such as being individually tethered and their lean physique.
The training operation at Huggins house is considered to be an isolated incident. However, officials are investigating to make sure it isn’t part of a larger ring.

This stuff really gets me angry. That people can be so thoughtless with animals. I have a dog web video and we just recently filmed an episode about a great pitbull named Hector that was rescused from Michael Vick. He’s such a great dog! Hopefully that episode will be up in January.
I hope they throw the book at this guy. I hope he gets the worst and highest penalty possible. When will people learn? Why do people just not care how inhumane and barbaric this is? This really angers me too.
Dogs should not be trained to fight.
I don’t understand why some people think dog fighting is acceptable – it’s ILLEGAL! These losers deserve a huge fine to pay and jail time! I’m tired of hearing about all these people that get caught for animal abuse & then walk with a slap on the wrist.
These people deserve to be ripped up to shreds. They are the most vile organisms alive, How can anyone do that to their dogs? Pit bulls really need to be saved. They get all the torture and are such beautiful animals
Lock em up and throw away the key…I am so sick of these IGNORANT people …they are so IGNORANT they are not getting the message…..we will not stop until all these lowlife scumbags are in prison…….WE HAVE TO BE THE VOICE TO STOP IT!!!! They have given Pit Bulls a bad name and they are the sweetest dogs! I saw one the other day lost walking up the street and I went and she came right to me, wagging her tail, oh yeah she had some muscle but she used all of them to give me nothing but love for saving her, I found her family and she went home that same day. There are too many dogs disappearing in this country because they are being stolen and used as bait! If they were to steal my dogs….OMG…they would not have to worry about the cops….they would have to worry about me, I would hunt them down. My dogs are my children and these scumbages that treat dogs like dirt need to go away for a very longtime, forever would be okay with me too! I AM SICK OF IT!!!
