Car Driving Dog Walker…Huh?
Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds. There is a man in Britain that actually walks his dog while driving his car.
A father has been named one of Britain’s laziest men after taking his dog for a walk while sitting in his car.
Kevin Pyle gets his son Karl to drive him round the block in Newcastle while he leads four-year-old pet bull mastiff Bruce alongside.
Bruce covers about four miles a week but Mr Pyle does not walk a single step.
Wow, that is lazy. According to his son Karl, since his father started working the early shift as a wagon driver he never gets out of bed. His father expects the entire family to bring what he needs up to him in bed while he watches TV. This latest stunt started out on a rainy morning.
‘One morning it was raining and Dad looked out the window and told me to start the car. I wondered what he was up to then he said we were taking Bruce for a walk.
‘I thought he was only joking. But he said “I’m serious, I can’t be bothered” so off we went.
‘Dad had his arm out the window holding Bruce’s lead. He just lolloped alongside.’
Okay, I confess, when we lived in NY and it was snowy and cold out Bo’s walks did get shorter. Very short. But this…I can’t really think of much that would beat “walking” your dog while driving.
If you’ve ever shortchanged your best friend out of laziness give me a bark.
* The big cutie above is Dogster’s own Fergus Willoughby. He’s a Mastiff, not Bull Mastiff, but I couldn’t resist the alfit.

I see this every once in a while here in our town, people driving their cars in the park(!) while their dogs are running next to the car. This stupidity just kills me. Hello, trying to kill your dog? Avoiding unwanted weight-loss? Teaching your dog how to chase cars? The Darwin awards are still taking applicants.
I love the picture of the mastiff. Having shown, raised and just plain owned them for 17 yr I can’t help but love them. As for walking a dog while driving a car I think you are just asking to get the dog killed or injured. What a shame to miss out on time bonding with your dog.
Yeah, there are a lot of stupid people out there. All it would take is for the dog to slip or stumble and under the tire he goes. Not too bright.
He could at least put his dog on a treadmill. . it’d be a lot safer!
Wow, I guess it’s just too much effort to walk him alongside riding your bike?
How about Britain’s Stupidest Man?
He could have just told his son to walk the dog as he does everything else. A treadmill would be good for exercise, but I presume this is his dog’s time to eliminate. I wonder if he gets out of the car to pick up his dog’s mess or makes his son do it or just drives on by.
There is a very elderly man in our neighborhood that probably isn’t able to walk his two dogs so he drives around the neighborhood with the windows down and lets them bark at everyone while he chats on his cell phone. He drives slowly and waves as he goes by, circling back and never going onto the main road. I’m guessing it’s their only chance to get out and somewhat socialize. Maybe I should go by and visit him someday.
I know a guy who did this in my fiancé’s hometown…..ended up killing his dog because it saw a squirrel or rabbit and ran in front of one of the car’s wheels…..extremely sad.
