For all the Dogsters who are foodies, The Honest Kitchen has been nice enough to share one of their healthy and fun to make recipes. You and your pal can spend a fall afternoon whipping up a batch of yummy brownies. Although I would advise that the two legged member be in control of the oven.
Healthy Autumn Brownies
These rich but delectable brownie-style treats can be made with any one of our dehydrated raw foods for dogs, and make use of some of the fall’s healthiest vegetables and fruits. Squash may be substituted for sweet potatoes if desired.Ingredients
2 Eggs
½ Cup of Cooked, Mashed Sweet Potato
½ Cup of cooked Parsnips, finely diced
3/4 Cup of Diced Ham
¼ Cup Grated Gruyere Cheese
¼ Cup of Dried Cranberries
4 Tbsp Applesauce
2 cups of Honest Kitchen Dehydrated Dog Food
1 ½ Cups Warm Meat Broth (low sodium, if commercial)
1 Small Pinch fresh or Dried Rosemary (optional)What To Do:
Hydrate the food using the warm meat broth.Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk lightly. Mix in the applesauce, ham and cheese.
Mix the sweet potato or squash into the hydrated food, along with the parsnips & cranberries.
Add the egg mix to the Sweet Potato mix and combine thoroughly.
Spread in a thin layer onto a well greased baking sheet.
Grate a little extra cheese on top if desired and cook at 300 F for about 60 minutes or until the top is slightly dried and slightly crispy.Cool thoroughly and cut into squares to serve.
For firmer treats, divide the mix into teaspoon sized drops and space evenly on a baking sheet, flattening gently with the spoon. Cook as above.*Oatmeal and a little ground meat can be used as a substitute for the THK products.

I have 2 Dachshunds that I love so very much. They have been eating Honest Kitchen Force and Embark for some time now it has done wonders for their health. I also foster dogs for the Central Texas Dachshund Rescue and my most recent foster, Max, has been eating Embark since I got him 3 weeks ago. His previous owner tried to starve him so he was just skin and bones. Embark has brought him back to life.
Every day I show them my love by giving them PECKS on their head just before they go to sleep in their bed. In the cold winter months they like to NUZZLE in their beds like little furry ICE PUPS. When they wake up they are so excited becuase they know they are about to eat some warm Force or Embark. After they eat they show me love in the best way they know how — by giving me sweet, wet Dachshund SMOOCHES !

After being out in the cold and I am an ice pups, mama gives me lots of nuzzles, pecks and smooches to warm me up.
My dog will give lots and lots of smooches, pecks, and nuzzles for ice pups!
Gaius went to get fitted for a new snow suit yesterday. I don’t want him turning into an ice pup again this year. Brrrr.

Yummy! These sound delicious! Ya know I am the official taste tester of the family (Athens barking here). I have to make sure all food that enters other dogs mouths is not poison so I eat some of their food myself before letting them eat. Mommy and Daddy often refer to this time as “Athens leave it!” I don’t know what thats about. So I will definitely have to get my pawrents to make some of these yummy brownies and let me have first nip!
Everynite “Patches” my terrier/poodle mix…loves to scoot up on his belly with legs streached out and lay next to me and we lock our eyes on each other and we just “Nuzzle” each other with our noses! A great “nuzzle” good nite moment for me and him!
I tried to feed my pooch K.C. NUZZLES but he ran off with the ICE PUPS giving them SMOOCHES all the way to the house !!!
