Barking About Barack

I usually keep politics, religion, breed, and dog food preference out of my commentary. However, the great debate 2008 is just too hard to ignore.
Staying on top of the news also means keeping up with the latest websites and reporting on them. As for my personal opinion, I prefer to be like Switzerland, neutral.
There’s a new site out for the dog loving Obama supporters, Bark Obama!, where you can get up to the minute political news and commentary.
Go check out what they’re barking about. Feel free to give me a woof back with your opionions, please keep those wagging tongues civil.

Gag…
For those that Bark for Barack, there is a Pets for Obama Group for dogs and cats on dogster/catster!!
http://www.catster.com/group/Pets_for_barack_obama-12164
Joined the group! Thanks RA!! Thanks to Mr. blogger too for posting this!
If Dogster is neutral, I’d like to see equal time for both candidates….where’s Canines for McCain? If there is none, then I don’t think this should have been “reported.” It makes ya smells funny.
Lucie, Sara Palin might have shot the Canines for McCain. Sorry, couldn’t resist. Just joking. lol
I’m thinking if there is no Cainines for McCain and you wanna see one, you should start one. =)
Personally I hate to see politics enter onto Dogster at all but I’ll just steer clear of those groups. If it starts becoming a big issue and I see it all over the place I’m gone from Dogster. We see and hear politics all day long in the news, on the radio even on the internet and the main reason I come to Dogster is to get away from all that and relax. I realize we all have different agenda’s so this is something I’ll have to deal with.
Isn’t politics against Dogster’s Community Guidelines?
As an undecided voter, I find the outright support for any candidate on this site deplorable and this post out of line.
We are “For The Love Of Dog”
Since the blogger claims to be neutral, I will patiently await a front page post about a blog for McCain.
Are we even welcome here if we aren’t Obama worshippers?
This has no place on Dogster. My dog is voting for Demon Flash Bandit, a dog taking a stand against birds.
I think it’s shameful to not be able to talk about politics when it has so many consequences, including the welfare of our pets. Unfortunately, so many of us cannot get passed one liners and name calling in political discussion. It would be nice to really explore opposing view points and share our own ideas within the pet realm but it’s not going to happen.
It is sad to see politcal sites being promoted here. I come here to get away from it. I’m tired already of all the he said, she said, nasty, out of context comments.
Please don’t promote anymore politcal sites and if you do please make sure you have sites for both sides. With that said, so where is the site for McCain? Just want to see both sides of the issues.
For all of you that wanted a McCain Group here it is: Dogs and Cats for McCain
http://www.dogster.com/group/Dogs_and_cats_for_mccain-13667
I’m glad there is a site for McCain , now his followers can stop whining…Go Obama
i think its appalling,, i joined both sides to formulate my opinion and because i did the democrats shunned me, and kicked me out of their group,,i don’t know why they thought me a spy but i guess thats the way they think,,i don’t know,, i’m new to all this so i’m guessing my uncle is right
We love Obama… we are going to see him Sunday in Charlotte.
There is also a site… dogs for democrats.
http://www.dogs4democrats.com
Perhaps those republicans who have harsh things to say will realize that dogs could really care less if you are a donkey or an elephant, all they care about are TREATS!!
As a chosen to be former member of one of the Democrat / Obama groups. I am no longer an undecided voter.
The half truths and total lies that spew in these groups, pack behavior displayed by these members inside the group and outside the group on those that do not agree 100% with everything they think, and the outright vile hatred is nothing more than a hate group on Dogster.
Why is it that these are the ones causing the trouble on Dogster? I for one do want any of these type in MY White House. Conservatives and McCain supporters are not behaving this way.
It is a shame that I have to hide who I am to avoid another round of vile hateful vicious attacks.
You can just look at the negative posts above to see who is being hateful. Very telling.
We support Barack Obama. We’ll stay on the high-ground but speak truth to power without hiding. We are also Conservatives and Born-Again Christians and not ashamed of that either.
Thanks Dogster for giving us a choice of discussion groups! Our 3 dogs are important members of our family. We are waiting to sell our house and downsize to more affordable housing so we can pay medical bills and eventually college. We’re feeling the squeeze more and more. We have joined the Obama group and like connecting with other smart, dog loving families who share our concerns, worries, and perspective. If we weren’t politically minded, we would choose not to participate in these groups, no big deal.
I do see where No Longer Undecided is coming from. I have seen this too, although not to me personally.
As a Democrat, what has happened to all of us under our Democrat majority led government is a cause for great concern for me.
A true leader stays and gets the job done. He doesn’t drop all balls on the floor and go on vacation. Ready to lead? More like ready to go on vacation!
The pet food, salmonella, housing crisis, soaring gas costs, etc all happened on the watch of the Democrats.
Yeah, It is better we keep the politics out of Dogster/Catster. After all it is a community for dogs and cats to find support, fun and advice. Oh wait! We need humans first as we cats and dogs can not reach the keyboards. I think it’s like T.V. or the radio. If you don’t like a certain dog/cat….turn the dial or in this case change the virtual page.
Here is my dog on the Obama and McCain issue’s. “Ruff Ruff ruff, slobber slobber, drool, ruff”. Being just his typist but a human I sure don’t know what he just said. But I think he is afraid of Palin cuz he is a German Shepherd and looks a little like a wolf. Too bad those wolves she has killed have no “voice” for them. Oh, maybe the do by environmentalists but the Republicans don’t seem to care about them either. That should turn any animal lovers stomach.
And good Ole Bush……….worst president ever with all that McCain support. Scary.
Our President Bush pushes the no child left behind idea…. but refused to pay the bill for it. “War leaves all children behind.” The innocents of the earth pay the consequences for man’s actions.
The reason we do not have both party’s in one group is we don’t want to offend the other will jokes that might slip out. We do not unintentionally hurt someone as sometimes jokes can be taken too far. We want to avoid fights in the group before they start. Everyone is different and some are more sensitive then others. We want a relaxed environment where we do not have to walk on eggshells. That is why there are two groups. We never intend to hurt any one. The only reason a Democrat would go to a Republican Campaign is to protest and vice versa. We don’t want that to happen in groups. We want to keep the peace.
If you are learning about the candidates listen to them. Do not believe anything in blogs. It is up to you. Read their websites and watch them campaign. You as an American will make the choice. Do not let others make it for you. Not Mom, Dad or a Friend. Follow your heart but make yourself smart too.
To Hunter and No longer Undecided or the same purrson.
If you are voting based on what you heard on “Dogster/Catster, obviously you are too young or under educated to vote at all. Emotional “eating” is better in the short and long run.
My sister (Rue Rue) apologies for her typos as she has crossed eyes and no thumbs.
Peace to both the Repubs and Demo’s!
For those who feel politics are against the guidelines: When we are about to elect the next president of the U.S.A. do you seriously not think that this is not an important issue? We can only do this every four years. I think the policy on politics is for those who bring them up during non-presidential elections. Do you vote? We don’t care who you are voting for but this is YOUR country and you should feel blessed to vote. These are history changing events and who would not want to talk about or be a part of something so important that will effect your life and the ones you love for the next 8-10 years? I am proud to discuss it with my fellow American’s anywhere and I proudly admit, I am voting for Obama.
Why would a person who does not support Obama come here to bring negativity? Because they have neither ethics nor conscience. Sadly for them, they will reap even more negativity.
Obama supporters, stay positive and don’t let the evil ones bring you down. Keep barking about Barack!
Dogfood, dog toys, and vet bills sure are expensive! So, the folks in our den are kind of worried about the economy. For our family, Pets for Obama gives us a chance to share political viewpoints with like minded people. There are occasional respectful disagreements but no mean dog fights. It’s not the only source of information, of course, and no one tells us what to think (that’s a bit weird). I just don’t understand the meanness and animosity expressed here. If you don’t want to participate in a group, don’t. There are a lot of diverse groups within dogster that are not our personal cup of tea so we don’t join. There’s no reason to be mean. Please get the information and vote for who you think would be best as President, discuss it with others, vote, and enjoy your dogs with your family.
