Sweet Video Of Evacuees With Their Dogs At Emergency Shelter
Meghan Goss, Online Communications Blog Editor, of The Humane Society of the US read Dogster’s post about the improved evacuation and sheltering procedures for people and pets in Louisiana.
She was kind enough to send over a message letting me know about a video on Wayne Pacelle’s blog, along with a field report from the leader of The HSUS’s Emergency Services team.

On the greatest dog - I liked Star the BEST
That was very touching and brought a tear to my eye. I am grateful that the powers that be have begun to understand the significance of pets when planning an evacuation. I don’t think anyone wanted a replay of the Katrina video where Snowball was left behind and Snowball’s little hooman crying because he had to leave her behind.
Thank you HSUS and New Orleans Government for planning a shelter for pets.
