We just had a pretty good "shaker" in L.A., the first in some time. Many of us in the newsroom where I work, amid holding our collective breath as our seats rolled, very quickly thought about how our animals were doing at home. Thankfully, there seems to have been very little damage so far -- and the captain of the local animal shelter tells me the dogs there didn't even bark. Good reminders! We just had a pretty good “shaker” in L.A., the first in some time.
