Introducing DogPause, the first dog bowl with proprietary SlowZonesTM and integrated portion control.
You know how you feel when you eat too fast (or eat too much). Same thing with your dog — it’s not healthy for him or her to inhale the food.
We experienced a recent episode with Logan, our Bernese Mountain dog. He scarfed down a bowl of food and started showing symptoms of what we thought were the early signs of bloat. Luckily, it ended up being “the gulps”, but now we now realize the importance of slowing down his eating time.
DogPause is the only dog bowl clinically proven to slow down dogs’ eating. In clinical tests run by professional vets, DogPause slowed down dogs by an average of 50% vs. standard dog bowls. As vets will confirm, a slower eating dog is a happier, healthier dog with less risk of experiencing (or doing) all sorts of yucky things like vomiting, gas, belching, gagging, life-threatening bloat, etc. Which makes life better for you and your dog…
So get those paws typing because the contest starts today and ends July 31st.

I would love to win one of these because our Tibetan Spaniel devours his food in less than 5 minutes. You hear him grunt and everything as he takes huge bitefuls. This will definitely help him slow down his eating!
I would like to win a Dog Pause bowl because every other anti-gulp bowl mom has tried for me hasn’t worked. She would love to find something that would keep me from gulping my food!
i think this sound awesome, trixiemae eats so fast she never even chews her food,,, i can;t wait to see how your product is going to help her
I know that when I eat too fast, I get bloated, overeat, and gain unneeded weight. But I can control the pace at which I eat and avoid those negatives. My dog can’t. Therefore, I’d like to get one of these bowls to be his “control.”
How cool!
I would love to recieve a bowl, because my dogs scarf down theirfood like they’ve been starved for 2 months. I feel terrible for them, because after they eat they will start making “Coughing” noises and hyperventalate. They soon calm d own but I would like to eliminate this behavior forever. :r
I would love this for our Yellow Lab pup, Tarpon. He gulps down his food so fast, he throws it up whole! I could share what happens next, but it might be too much information!
I would love to win a dogpause bowl for Max, He gulpes down all his food ( which gives him Gas !!!) so he can get to Molly’s bowl & eat hers too!!!! Because of this routine he is getting more than his share of the food & gaining weight & Poor Molly is loosing weight & has to eat as fast as she can to get some of her food …. It would make Molly & i very happy to win a bowl for him !!!!! & he might loose a few pounds too !!! LOL
I would love to win this for my two pups. As soon as I put the food bowl down they just go for it and when one’s finished they will try and eat out of the other pups bowl. I would like for them to eat slower and think this bowl would be the ideal thing!
Remington has always been a gulper. I put frozen green beans on his food now to slow him down some, but this bowl sounds like it would really help slow him up.
Our pal Scooterneeds one of these bowls because she holds a record of 15 seconds for inhaling her food!
Zoey needs a DogPause bowl, because she wolfs down her food so quickly she doesn’t even chew. Once she finishes her food, she tries to move on to the other dogs’ bowls. She’s a little chunky and needs to lose weight.
I would like to have a DogPause bowl because my 8 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix can inhale (almost literally - he doesn’t chew) his cup of food in under one minute. We feed him twice a day and have even tried the old “tennis ball in the dish” trick, but nothing slows him down. My fiance and I are very concerned about bloat, so any help would be appreciated!
I would like to have a DogPause bowl because my Alaskan malamute, Yukiko eats so quickly and barely even chews her food. She has always eaten much too fast. I think this bowl would definitely help her slow down while eating and enjoy her food.
OMD! Me and mama fight every time she sets down my dinner bowl! She thinks I should chew my food….I think I should just slurp and swallow! Having a bowl that will enable me to eat slower would finally bring some much-needed peace to dinner time at the Gang house.
I would love to have a dogpause bowl for Talladega. It seems most of the time I hardly have to leave the room to pick up her empty dish she eats sooo fast. Unfortunately half the time she is eating so fast that she ends up regurgitating her food and I worry if she receiving enough nutrition from what she has held down.
I would like to win a dog pause bowl for Shandi because she is like a monster when it comes to food. She just can’t seem to eat it quick enough. Sometimes she eats it to fast and forgets to breathe. Her being food motivated is great but she just needs to slow down a little.
I would LOVE to have a bowl like this for Fungi. He eats so quickly. I have tried to get him to slow down but he just won’t. I worry all the time about bloating (I had a 12 and 1/2 year old shar pei that died from that 2 years ago).
This looks like the perfect solution to get Fungi to slow down.
My collies Murphy and Pepper both eat so fast that sometimes I even step in and pick up their bowls so they take a break or only put a little of their food in it at a time. I am so worried about bloat! And not only that, the first one done then goes after my little 20 lb sheltie Peanut’s food! She only gets a half cup of food and my collies will eat that from her bowl in one gulp! If we are not standing right there to watch them, we aren’t positive she got all her food.
We also find when the collies gulp down their food, they often throw it up right afterwards. Then we are treating the carpet and nobody is happy! It would be great if we could win this bowl. My hubby has been unemployed for 3 years now and there isn’t always a lot extra to spend on things like this. My dogs are my babies and mean the world to me and I want them to be fit and trim and healthy!
Boy would we love to win one of these DogPause Bowls! I like to try to have everyone eat meals at the same time but the boys are just so darn fast with their food that by the time I get to sit down they’re finished and beg for my food! Another great reason to win one of these new inventive bowls is that maybe I would be able to take off the gas mask if the boys could be slowed down a bit. Boy can they gas you out!
Pony would love one of these. He eats like he’s been starved for a week and follows up his scarffest with the most horrendous burps and stinkies. Then he’s got to listen to us complain between gagging…Phew!
I would love to win one of these!!! I am a rescue dog. When I was at the bad place, I never was given anything to eat. I even have chips in my teeth. The vet said it could be where I would try to eat rock cause I was so hungry. I am a GSD and I only weighted 41 pds when I was rescued. Now I just cannot help myself when I get my food. My humom has told me she is so worried. If I do not slow down I could get bloat. GSD are bad to get this. I think this would help me so much!!
I would like to win a bowl for my friend, Scooter, because she eats her food so fast we’re worried it will make her sick. Her Mommy timed her and she eats her food in 15 seconds (see the video on her page). We love Scooter as she is the sweetest, most generous dog we know. Scooter definitely deserves to win a bowl.
Jasper NEEDS this bowl. He finishes his food in about thirty seconds! He often ends up coughing and having a hard time breathing. He is a pug after all and have some breathing trouble anyway!
Jersey is a FAST eater! He is only slightly larger than my girl Charlotte and eats twice as much food as her in less time. It worries me a little. He would just eat and eat as fast as he could if we let him. He was from a rescue shelter, penned up with another puppy. I wonder if that has anything to do with it; he has been this way since we got him. I thought he would grow out of it but never has. I’ve tried to think of different ways to get him to slow down, like distracting him somehow, but it just makes him scarf it down faster. Please help!
OMD ! I think our 16 year old Bichon would benefit from having this bowl. She often eats fast - to fast - and has chocking episodes. Thanks for letting an older dog enter a contest to win a new dog bowl.
I really love scarfing down all the food in our bowl so my bother Murphy, the goofy Lab can’t eat any. I have picked up the nickname “Bulldozer” becasue of the way I plow thru the bowl until it’s empty! Then, I have a tummy ache and I gag a lot. Please pick me for the Pause Bowl-I could really use it! Love, Maddy Jo -the German Shepher/Retreiver mix.
Wow!, this sounds like a great product! I would love to have one of these to prevent my Pomeranian, Girlie, from “inhaling” her kibble! Her habit of quickly consuming her food causes her to “snorkle” or have an episode of “collapsed trachea”, which is sometimes common in Pomeranians. It’s quite alarming and prevents Girlie from getting a normal amount of air.
Crosby has always had issues with gulping his food down. It seems that the faster he eats, the more food aggressive he is. He has bitten me once because of the food aggression. I was trying to stop another dog from going near his bowl, he snapped at the other dog but pierced my thumb in the middle of my nail instead. It’s just not feasible for me to hand feed him his meals to make him slow down….even though it works great…because of the attention my 4 yr old son requires. Anything that can help slow Crosby down would be a blessing.
Hi! I would like to win a dog pause bowl for my girls, Lucy and Desi. Lucy scarfs her food down so fast that she throws it up whole. And Desi tries to eat her food, Lucy’s food, and the cat’s food - all in record time!!! IAnd the gas they she gets from both sides is quite brutal. She is lucky I love her and her sister so much! It would be great to be able to control their food intake, and maybe give my carpet a break. LOL
I’d love to win one of these for Angel. Silly boy always eats like he’s never seen food before. Worst part is - ever heard an Akita belch? That’s right, they can and it’s like Barney on The Simpsons. Braaaaaaaaaaaaap followed by a cheesy grin. That is, if he bothered to at least pretend to chew, sometimes it’s more like coughing it back up to chew cud like he thinks he’s a cow.
My beautiful boy 3 yr old PointerX Calvin gulps his food so fast that I have sometimes even tried putting rocks in his bowl so that he would have to slow down. This didn’t seem like a nice thing so now I just give him 1/4 portion and then another until his meal is done. This bowl would make him stop and start and that would be good! Calvin loves his food and is on a homecooked diet due to having pancreatitis when he was 2. He is lean, athletic and very fit and being so sick was a huge shock. I carefully prepare all his meals under his vet’s directions and he is one happy [and always hungry] boy!
I foster for Suncoast Basset Rescue here in Florida. I would love to win a bowl for our rescue. Bassets are notorious chow hounds and loooooove to eat. Most of the bassets we rescue, come from shelters, and usually have issues with eating way too fast.
My last foster, Charlie, was an extremely fast eater. The first meal he actually inhaled, without chewing and choked on several mouth fulls of food. All of the tricks I learned about putting a tennis ball or object in the bowl..usually worked for only one meal!! He then would figure it out..LOL
So I think it would be great if the rescue would win a bowl so we could send it to those homes with extremely fast eaters!!!
Thanks so much!
Wow…i’m quite honored…two of my pals entered me in the contest.
I am a very fast eater…I’m well known on dogster for m inhaling habits. Mom worries about me sometimes because I have choked before…luckily, it has come back up. Thanks and I would love a chance to get the bowl!
Thanks to Buddy Todd and Dylan for thinking of me and entering me too…those are some great pals!!
Hi Dare,

This would be so terrific for our chihuahua. She loves to eat and all day she burps. She chokes on her food as well, and it really worries her poor ole’ mom!!!
My dog Odie, a terrier mix has always ate her food way too fast and has licked her bowl spotless after every meal. I’ve even tried adding water to her food and trying to slow her down. I think she eats fast because at her first home she had to compete with another dog for food. If my other dog Elsie (English Springer Spaniel) doesn’t get to her food fast enough or gets bored of it Odie is sure to scarf up her food too!
I don’t always have the time to supervise their eating habits so this bowl would be ideal for my chow hound
My dog told me to enter this! Okay well I really want to win this for him!
We have 5 dogs, 4 Beagles and 1 Doberman. All 4 Beagles get spoon-fed (yes, you heard me right). We have allowed them to eat on their own, but what you get is 4 vacuum cleaners going at the same time, trying to “out-snarf” the other.
Then you have hacking and choking; not to mention the belching. We feed them a small meal in the morning, and their main meal at night. Both meals are spoon-fed. If we could win this bowl, we could try it out on 1 Beagle at a time. If it works like we hope it will, we’d buy 3 more in a flash! It would also give my husband and me a few extra minutes in the day.
my dog got a letter before to go to a dog show and one time she won the most beautiful dog

Although Reesee is only a Chihuahua, he is one amazing eater. Even if it is plain dog food in his bowl, he literally inhales his food. It scares me because he eats so fast and I’m afriad he is going to choke or something worse will happen. He has already choked a couple of times and vomited, as well as blowing out a ton of gas from constantly inhaling air with his meal. Even if I walk by him, and not bothering him, he will eat his food even faster because he’s afraid I’m going to take it away from him!
I’ve tried tennis balls, putting a clean big rock in his food to avoid him from eating faster, but to no avail.
Hopefully Reesee will have luck from this dog bowl to save Mom some heavy worrying!
Thank you!
I ordered this bowl and it arrived yesterday. It managed to slow down Beemer, my American Standard Dachshund. It forces the dog to reposition himself to eat all 4 sections.
Joshy’s mom here. Josh is a gluttten he eats everything! Though he has a sensitive stomach.
Joshy’s mom here. Josh is a gluttten he eats everything! Though he has a sensitive stomach. (Sry this re-posted. I have no idea why!)And barfs up his food all the time. Healso eats fast which does not help the whole thing. So this bowl would be a blessing!
We need this for both our dogs, they literally inhale their food & don’t take the time to even chew. I think this bowl sounds like a great idea & I’d love to try it or read reviews of what others think about it. Bloat is often a worry with breeds such as Dusty & Cleo (labs).
Thanks!
I would love to win one. My girl Athens eats so fast I think sometimes she is just going to throw it all back up. This would be a great help!
Athens & Austin’s mommy (Christine)
My Aussies would LOVE to try the DogPause bowl! I have 3…a standard and two minis…Gracie, Bandit, and Blaze. They inhale their food so fast even though I put a tennis ball in their bowl each time they feed. It used to help, but not anymore. After eating they somtimes have coughing fits and I worry they suffer from upset stomachs. I’ve been searching for a product that might do the trick and this one sounds like it might work. If this works, I’ll be purchasing two more!!
Gracie and the boys would be so thankful to winr a DogPause bowl!!
I would love to have one of those bowls for my dog! She is a 3 legged Catalhoula we rescued. When we first got her I thought she only gobbled her food up fast because there were other dogs in the foster home, maybe they would eat it if she didn’t eat fast. However, we have had her for over a year, and before the food hits the bowl, she is over there and it is gone in record time! The portion control is also important because we really have to watch her weight due to her missing leg. If she gets overweight, it could do real damage to her joints in her remaining legs.
i have a brussels griffon who literally, no lie finishes his bowl of food in under a minute. this causes him to have really bad gas daily, and throw up alot. this bowl would really helkp him and me out
I would really enjoy winning a DogPause bowl because as much as I love my boy, he’s a total monster when it comes to food; it takes him only about 2 minutes to polish off a pound of regular sized kibble!
i have heard alot of great things about your bowl. My cat Dapne has a bigger appetitie than my puppy. I thought it would be a good thing to try for both of my pets to teach them good eating habits.
I want to be a good mommy and role model! If we as humans need to eat healthier and more controlled (smaller portions) then this bowl would be a good role model for other companies to invent amazing bowls like this one!!
