Shelters Need Air Conditioners
We received this email today:
Earth Angels Animal Rescue Needs Air Conditioners Stat!
Earth Angels, a no-kill animal rescue based in Queens, NYC, needs air conditioners and help installing them ASAP (preferably energy-star compliant).
Emelinda’s air conditioner is broken, and she has lupus and other medical problems and is doing her best with her two female assistants to keep herself and the animals cool.
If anyone can help, please call Emelinda at 917-648-7070 or show up at the Petco at Union Square any evening to drop off donations (checks or money orders okay, but not cash if you want it to be documented, as EA is a 501c3).
Help animals suffering from the heat wave by giving an AC to your local shelter. We know they—especially the animals—will appreciate it. Help keep canines and cats cool!
Another great idea is to donate a pre-paid gas card to help offset the exorbitant cost of fuel. Many shelters have vehicles they use to transport animals and supplies.
