9 Research Dogs in Raleigh, North Carolina Vet School Need to Be Adopted by May 30th
Joy

PLEASE CROSSPOST!!!!!

Nine dogs in Raleigh, NC need to be rescued immediately!

Thanks to Lynn for barking this in. Please pass it on to anyone who could make the difference for these furbabies.

Hi All,
Laboratory Animal Resources at the Vet School has 9 dogs available to be adopted out immediately. These dogs have been offered before, and we had no takers.

These dogs will go to a terminal study, if we do not have any takers before May 30th. We would much rather see these dogs, who have given so much to research, go to a good home to live out the rest of their lives, but we cannot keep them here any longer.

Please contact me before May 30th if you are interested.

Just wanted to let you know..link to photos does not work.

  3. Rachel and the pack

The link does not work ;)
And how far away can they be adopted out to?

  4. Joy

    Hannah and Rachel,

I would suggest you might want to call the phone number. I checked the link which worked when this was posted and it seems to have been cut.

I don’t know how far away they will adopt but the Dogster Railroad may be able to help you transport your adoptee.

    I tried 2 of the Dogster #’s and they don’t work eighther! : (

  6. Joy

    Bonzer

Did you try calling the phone number? The numbers listed next to the dogs are not Dogster numbers.

So what exactly does this mean that they will be used for “terminal” studies? If they don’t use these dogs are they still going to get other dogs to study? I just think that is so wrong! There are other more up-to-date ways of doing these things now. I wish these schools would get it together!
When I forwarded this on earlier the links worked too. I don’t know what’s going on with it now. Has anyone heard if any of these cuties have been adopted? They need to find homes quick! I hope someone can help them. At least get them into a foster home for now to buy them more time. Let’s make this happen.

If anyone is interested in seeing the pictures, I had posted them HERE before the link was cut. Unfortunately I did not add the names with the dogs’ pictures so I’m not exactly sure who is who.

  9. Pamela

I just called the number intending to adopt one or two of the dogs, and they had a message on their machine saying that all the dogs have found homes!

You can still put yourself on a waiting list however, for future adoptions.

    Pamela,

Thank you for the happy update!

And to everyone who passed on this message or adopted dogs, a big thank you bark!

  11. Jennifer

What wonderful news! This just made my night complete. Thanks! Hope they all have wonderful furever homes. :) They definitely deserve it!

  12. Layla

That dog is so cute. I really want a new puppy for my new home.
