Wacky? Yes. But the free pet networking site is booming.Dogster and its companion site, Catster.com, currently have more than 500,000 pet profiles, including more than 12,000 dogs and cats from New Jersey. Hundred of new pet profiles and blogs are being added everyday, according to the California-based site.
We asked Dogster founder and chief executive officer Ted Rheingold, 37, how the pet networking craze got started.

4 Paws up! Thanks Dogster for being here for us. It is our only online community stop and we are so glad to have found it and all our pawsome Dogster and Catster pals. You rock! Happy Mothers Day to All!
Great interview!
Our family has been on Dogster and Catster since 2004, and no other site out there even compares! We’ve made great friends from all over the country. One of our very close friends we met from Texas will be coming here to NH at the end of May for the 2nd visit in two years!
We love Dogster and Catster!
Love Dogster. On it every day!
