Help Dogster Hannah Get Justice for Abuse, Sign Petition
Joy

Welcome to Dogster, Hannah!

You may have read about Hannah’s case. She was held by a Georgia canine cop under the pretense that she was being used for police work. Instead, the man was breeding her while barely keeping her alive. Shameful!

But there’s a happy ending here. Hannah was rescued and now lives with a loving family who has let her join Dogster where she has met many caring dogs and cats who want to see her abuser brought to justice.

Dogster Lena Malik barked in this information and wants to encourage us all to sign Hannah’s petition.

Lena Malik wrote:

Dear Joy,

My sweet and brave pup pal Hannah joined
dogster about a month ago.

Unfortunately, she had a tragic start in life but is currently learning how to simply be a beloved family member. Her case is still under investigation and we are getting either the runaround or invalid excuses from authorities. This is concerning because she was involved in unethical breeding purposes (this topic along with puppy mills was recently in the national media thanks to Oprah).

What is extremely troubling is the former owner’s possible ties in law enforcement and K9 unit. We are pleading for dogster and public support in order to get to the truth and have justice carried out for Hannah and many who share her past. Thank you!

Here’s more information from the Care2 Petition Site:

Hannah, a four year old German Shepherd was formerly owned by a Tattnall County, GA, K-9 Handler and from a very young aged was used as a breeding machine, confined until her muscles atrophied, starved and neglected. When she was deemed no longer useful, she was surrendered to Animal Control facility in Reidsville, Georgia (about 75 miles southwest of Savannah - in Tattnall County) with orders to euthanize her.

At the time of her surrender, Hannah, known at the time as Haunna, was in horrific condition. She had been starved, was severely emaciated and weighted only 41 lbs. Her pads were so wounded that she walked on her haunches and her fur was rubbed off in many places due to confinement. She was also pregnant and gave birth to three stillborn puppies while at the animal control facility.

On February 7, 2007, she was rescued by the Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue.

Hannah was taken to a vet and on the way she began to bleed, mostly from giving birth combined with her extremely poor physical condition

We are lucky because we have humans who hug us tight at night and finally Hannah joins our ranks.
This is not simply seeking justice for her but for the one’s still in her former owner’s possession and the thousands of dogs all over the world who have yet to learn not to cower from a person’s touch nor voice or have no notion of what life could be.
Thank you every lucky pup for standing up for those who wait to join us in the possibilities.

And thank you Joy for helping us get the word out, I’ll try not to bark so many requests!

    Lena

You bark in as many requests like this as you need to or want! We can make things better if we keep working together!

How very sad for Hannah to have been abused so, and by a man who is a representative of the law–there is no excuse! Why isn’t he in jail?

How fortunate Hannah has found her furever home with such a loving human! Hannah and her family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Life is definitely looking up for Hannah! Happy-happy!

Bless you for saving Hannah. I too, cannot walk away from a needy animal. In my quest to save Hope, I came across more than a few demons hiding behind the badge. It’s a scourge. Not to say all LEO’s are this way, because we KNOW there are some animal loving officers out there. The point I’m trying to make is that animal abusers are not unlike child abusers. They put themselves in places where they can carry out their evil intentions on purpose. You know like the child pervs whose work brings them into close proximity with children. I think animal abusers do the same. They seek jobs where they will have the most contact with the ones they want to abuse.

God bless you for saving Hannah. Like with my Hope, she will teach you love, patience and humor. ;-)

Working with foster animals I just can’t see how anyone can do this to an animal. Police or any officer of our government is above the law as has been said. I’m just glad she has found the home she finally deserves and making her way in a new life. Four 5 years here now I keep saying no more, but one always shows up to pull on the heart strings. I wish more would be as the Statue of Liberty says for people Give us your down and trodden animals and a future. Pam

No excuse !! He should be in jail. it seems many walks of life can do horrible things and never do the time or punishment for their actions. we need a change. let’s see that he gets what he deserves.. God Bless the one who saved Hannah!!!

  19. Joan Frost

How can any “human?” do such horrid things like that to their own sweet, trusting dog? This man CAN NOT be allowed to get away with all the suffering he put sweet Hannah through! I hope he gets jail time and a lot of it!!
