Mary Wernsman on the other hand is as honest as anyone could be in life and has always my undivided respect .. No TRD or any sort of dog was ever KILLED, HUNG or FROZEN to death by my hands ever in this house or any other house in my entire life…as Cathy Combs tries to convay..in her contrived stories of hate she and her group of misfit TRD owners seem to have.

Believe what you want.. but if anyone wants to see for themselves.. they need to come and meet the “wizard” as she calls me.. “Wizards” are pretty smart people from what I have learned in my 62 years… Cathy combs is nothing but a angry misfit of a person and is angry about the fact I have turned my back on her as Mary suggested to me years ago.. Several good people like Mary Wernsman have also been attacked verbually on some of those old MSN message boards because they actually bought their TRD from me.. here is the funny thing.. why do so many keep coming back to me for longer than any other TRD breeder in recent history??? over 15 years.. and counting..

Read the lastest words from a man for Germany who read this board and all those other older MSN boards..the hate blogs written by people like Cathy Combs who has nothing in her life but her copy website of the first registry, web forum ATRA… she had to call it what??? ATRO… strange??

I hope you remember me…I’m that the guy from Germany. I bet you do… knowing that you can remember the names of 80+ animals! Totally amazing!

Well, the time we spent on your land viewing all the beautiful dogs, having the chance to play with some and observe how you remember each one by name – even more when they responded to verbal commands was for me very impressive. I like the idea of the way you contain these dogs to areas, understanding their temperaments and making sure that they get ample time out in the open on the extensive estate to stretch their muscles, play and socialize.

The whole in-door containment area with a good draining system to wash away excreta and urine fast and Sleeping areas for the nights for some; protected breeding areas with abundant space and light. when we left your home we could not stop talking about all the necessary precautions that you have taken in breeding these dogs. The high fences are ideal precaution to these highly agile breed that can clear a fence in no time and the “knock-downable” containment areas for each dog seemed a good idea. What else can I say…. A job well done – keep it up!

Above all I thank you for taking the time for us. I will sure take the time to drop by again when I am in the area and perhaps try out the restaurant you recommended.

Hi Nai & Jack,

Thank you very much for the opportunity of visiting your place with two of my best friends yesterday. Thanks for your patience and your time in educating us about the TRD breed. Unlike many others and their kennels we had visited as well, we did not feel any pressure to purchase, but notice how knowlegeable you are to your dogs individually and took much patience to educate and inform us of this special breed. We came back feeling more informed and gain a friend in you.

Having myself visited some dogs enthusiasts breeders in the US and in Singapore, I must say that I am pleasantly surprise seeing how gentle and caring you have been to your dogs. They were all so friendly and calm. The places they are staying in were well very well kept, clean and unlike many places I had visited in the past.

Surely, I must attest that yours isn’t a “puppy mill” as many as claimed it to be. Believe me, I had seen and know what a “puppy mill” really is and I can certainly vouch that your dogs are very well kept and I could see they were brought up individually with the utmost of loving care. I am certainly very much encouraged and so were my two friends who were with me.

Keep it up and I hope we will be in touch again in the near future.

A Dogs Best Friend is Jack Sterling

‘Awesome!’ as Americans would say.

In this case we are describing Thai Ridgeback Dogs from the “House of Sakorn.”

This TRD kennel of premier breeder Jack Sterling is right here in Chiang Mai. Years of careful breeding have produced many champions, lots of photographs and hundreds of happy memories to treasure. Jack’s ‘babies’ are recognised and admired in many countries and have set and stabilised the standard of this ancient breed. He has every right to be proud of them.

Like most of us Jack needs to take things a little easier nowadays. He has made the very difficult decision to find new homes for some of these intelligent and loyal dogs but only to the most stable and loving family homes. Jack will scrutinise the prospective new owners with the eye of a doting father regarding the man who wants to marry his daughter.

My meeting with Jack proved that he is an exception to what, in many cases, has become the rule. Here is a truly caring breeder. He has bred Thai Ridgeback dogs since his days in California and he has brought this little known Thai breed to the attention of the world.

All Jack’s dogs are precious to him. They could never be a means to make money with no thought to the quality of their future lives with other people. It is because he loves them that he has reached the decision to let some of them find new homes with people who will care for, love and respect them for the rest of their lives.

There are four colours of Thai Ridgebacks, Black, Silver, Red and Fawn. Each one is strikingly beautiful in its own way. The coat is extremely short and the back carries the distinctive ‘ridge’ which gave rise to the name. They are large, muscular dogs and natural athletes. A home which has a garden the size of a pocket handkerchief would not be suitable for this breed.

Jack has bred for temperament not just for good looks and I found his dogs aloof at first and wary of a stranger, even though Jack was next to me. I think a home with one of these majestic dogs would be safe from uninvited visitors!

However, they gradually relaxed and were quite happy to allow me to wander around their home. I saw lovely photographs of children playing happily with dogs of various ages and am confident that they would make good family pets with the careful owner supervision which should, of course, be the case with any breed of dog.

Jo is a Chiang Mai resident and owner of over 30 rescue dogs from all over the world and she ran a shelter in Cyprus years ago. She actually brought 18 dogs from there. She has dogs os all sizes and all breeds including many mixed dogs. She is helping me to hopefully place many FREE TRD here in Chiang Mai in the EXPAT community.

Jo Baggley was the lady who told the real truth from the start and then it was others like Cathy combs who twisted it to look as if it was all about killing off my TRD and not trying to find people who care and want a TRD as a pet..

What a drag that an important post regarding the unnecessary killing of ridgeless RR had to get twisted in to this and basically dropped. This is not Jack Sterling writing, but an owner of 2 Sterling TRD, and it seems to me the post would have been left to its original intention had not this “SAVE” got in to it.

No matter how you feel about Jack, why don’t you just stick to the issue at hand, instead your own selfish slanderous motives. Let people who encounter Jack or anyone else, for that matter,make their own judgements. We are all grown-ups here and make our own decisions.

The RR and the TRD are beautiful ridgeless, two colored, tri-colored, long or short hair. It is a shame people breed only for standard. I don’t have a problem with people breeding for standard, if they are willing to place or keep the non-standard dogs.

I know a woman who had a beautiful white boxer wind up on her doorstep. We all know a white boxer isn’t standard either. Nevertheless, it is a boxer, and there are more people out there wanting dogs for reasons other than “show”, than than the people in the show world.

My feelings are mine and I do not agree with killing puppies who had a DSC in any breed.

He was once a simple puppy buyer that turned out to be a real evil charactor.. and his troubles only show through when he can join the others on the “hate JACK wagon” for a guy they all really do not know at all. I sold him a very nice BLUE puppy.. that is all..

It was a really nice puppy and he wanted more and I was not wanting to deal with his kind so he turned on me. That is really all there is to it. a Very sore loser…

YES, I was guilty of selling a very bad charactor a TRD in 1997 in New Jersey.. and dealing with a sick minded woman in Ohio in 2002.. and trusted another animal rescue worker in Thailand in 2007.. I was guilty of trusting these people to care for some of my TRD.. the rest is BS lies..

If you truly want to save a dog, why go all the way to Thailand? There are thousands of animals put to sleep in the USA everyday, where most of these dogs are at least “temperment tested” before they go up for adoption.

Education is how we can save people and animals from a lot of heart ache.

I have since found his site and from what I can see his dogs look a picture of health. This really sounds like a pack of kids bitching and moaning, seriously seems that Jack is prepared to talk.. why dont you contact each other like adults.. defamation of character is really a crime and if Jacks dogs are well looked after I am sure he would have no problems with sensible adults visiting him and his dogs.. it seems he has free ones available to homes.. perhaps “save the dogs” you could save some of them and get them homes be “pro” active writing isnt going to help SAVE anything??? As for readers who do not know, the breed also pops up occassionally in black and tan, blue, and on occasions blue w/tan points… most “breeders” also cull them as well.

I believe they should be spayed/neutered and place in loving forever homes… I will never get over the loss of Kelley, and I know that together we added closure to many victims families.
