2 Toronto Teens Surrender in Huckleberry Kidnap Case

Two Toronto teens surrender in missing dog case

Two youths wanted in connection with the alleged theft of a dog have turned themselves in to Toronto police.


A boy and girl, both 15, surrendered on Thursday afternoon at 53 Division. Each has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession under $5,000.

The boy is additionally charged with failing to comply with his probation. He is to appear in court on Friday, while the girl is to appear in court on March 20.

A day earlier, police announced two men had been charged in connection with the theft of Huckleberry, a chocolate-coloured Labrador.

The pet been taken while tied up outside a bakery on Saturday morning. The dog’s owner, Bert Clark, paid a $15,000 reward for Huckleberry’s safe return.

Witnesses reported seeing two teens petting the dog right before it went missing.
