Joy

I can’t pass up a great Dogsters helping Dogsters story! Wendy, Daisy Mae’s furmom, barked in this lovely story and thank you for all the Catsters and Dogsters who reached out a paw to them in a bad time.

I wasn’t sure if there was a way for me to thank the Dogsters here maybe in your blog?
See here’s the story.

On about 1/6 we noticed that Daisy was a bit lethargic. We watched her for a day and since she was gettng worse and is only 6 years old, we got her to our vet. He thought maybe it was her backor hips. She has arthritis in her hips and didn’t really react to the back exam , so she was put on prednisone and a muscle relaxer for 10 days.

Well, on 1/16 she got worse, a lot worse. She was doing what is often called the drunk walk. So we got her back to the vet that afternoon.

He gave me the look and I knew what he was about to say. I tried not to but I started to cry. Normally I am really strong, but this is Daisy Mae, my baby girl.

Off to the Dallas Vetrinary Surgical Center we went. After an exam and a get to know each other type meeting where we explained to the surgeon that our other dachshund had died there 7 years prior, we decided to do a CT scan. The results of that told us what we had to do, and that was get her right into surgery. That was the evening of 1/16.

Well just 2 and a half days later she got to come home!! I was terrified of how it would be. Well she’s been great and doing what she is supposed to do. We get her staples out tonight and she gets to try and walk on her own next week.

So here is where Dogsters come in!!

I have never felt such overwhelming support! from pawmails to gifts to rosettes and posting in her threads!

We’ve gotten cards and a daisy pin, even a hat and scarf for her vet visits!! And someone even called in a payment of $50 towards her surgery!! Then, the number of dogsters buying snuggle sacks and blankets to help us pay back for her surgery!! It’s just amazing!!

How do I thank an entire group of people and dogs for all that?? I’m hoping you will help!

Thank you Dogsters and Catsters too!!!
You will never know what your love has meant to us!!
XOXOXO
