Dogster Odie Passes to the Rainbow Bridge

Dogster is a little quieter and much sadder today. Odie, the Pug known internationally as “the talking dog,” is now gracing the Rainbow Bridge with his lovely “I love you’s.”
Cammie, Mo’s furmom, barked in the sad news yesterday.
It is with many tears and the heaviest of hearts, that we must tell you that our dear, sweet Odie has gone to the bridge tonight. He is known all over the world as “The Talking Pug”, being seen on shows such as David Letterman, Montel Williams and more.
Our friend Odie, had had a seizure yesterday, one this morning, and possibly one while his momma was at work. She came home to take him to the vet for tests for other problems he has had lately, and while at the vet, he suffered from a grand mal seizure. He was gently sent to the bridge, to meet our angels Winnie, Ascii, Miles, and all our other beloved friends.
Ruth, Odie’s momma, cannot be online now, understandably, but we will pass on anything you would like.
Our hearts are broken for ourselves, but we know that Odie is in a wonderful place, in comfort of many friends.
Godspeed, sweet Odie. You are truly one of a kind, and will never be forgotten. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
A candle page has been started here -
Please send prayers to our friend Odie, and his family. Thank you.
Of course, all dogs are special in their own way but Odie had a talent that made even non-dog people stop and wonder. Odie could talk to humans in their own language. He could actually tell his furmom that he loved her. How many of us would feel blessed beyond measure if our own furbabies could speak like Odie!
My heart goes out to Odie’s family. I know how hard it is to say goodbye. There’s nothing anyone can say to make this easier or hurt less. What I can say is that once most the pain passes (and it will in time but it will take a long time) then Odie’s families and friends will still have the marvelous memories with Odie.
For now, welcome the sweet dreams where Odie can meet you halfway from the Rainbow Bridge. And he will be looking for you there. You may not be able to touch his coat but you can still feel his love, just like he can still feel yours.
Run free at the Bridge, Odie.

I said a prayer for you Odie at your candle. You’re a very special little guy. I know you’re at the Rainbow Bridge running around like the wind. Give your special one-of-a-kind “I Ruff Rus” to a little guy up there with you called Beanie. Tell him his Mom loves & misses him. God bless Odie, you will be missed. Ruth, my prayers are being sent your way to heal your heart.
Odie, our dad said that you could talk. He said that you had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. I hope that you are having fun there. We will miss you but you will be with us for always! I think if you look in the tall green grass just over there you may find a squirrel to chase home!
Stay safe and think of us as we will be thinking of you!
Love,
Smudge, Sugar, and Calvin
Odie we will miss you greatly , run free dear friend
Odie..we never met but still we loved you though all the “I love you”s that you said. Hearing “I love you” will never be the same without you. We miss you terribly already. Godspeed to heaven where you deserve to be with all the other pugs. The best always die young.
Our prayers go out to you during this difficult time in your family’s lives. There are no words to comfort or heal right now, we understand stand this with our own losses of Dutchess, Rowdy & Sadie last year. Heck after 11 years I still grieve the loss of my Joy. I know that forever they remain in our heart & our mind. I cherish all memories of my babies, as I am sure you will also. Odie was definately one of a kind. God Bless You xoxo
So sorry to hear the sad news.
I have seen lil Odie on Letterman, and remember him well. He was an inspiration to all pups.
Sending prayers for the family, and all our LUV and HUGs
Sweet friend Odie, my mom and brothers send their love and support to Aunty Ruth and Uncle Ty whose hearts are so sad - we are so glad you were cherished so much by your family. A finer pug we have never known. We will remember the excellent times we have had with you, at your wedding to beautiful Hoku, when you were in your bark-o-lounger enjoying the sunshine, and how much enjoyed your new palatial digs at the Casa de Odie. We love you furever.

Run free, sweet boy, as your ‘I Ruv Roo’ echos forever throughout our minds and hearts! You were an original, a little furbundle of joy. Our condolences to your family as they begin the difficult process of learning to live without your physical presence.
It is with tears that I send my condolences…I can’t begin to imagine the loss that you are feeling. You will be in my prayers, may God comfort, strengthen you and give you peace, until that day that you and Odie are reunited. We will miss you ,Odie. Look for my pug, Rufus over there, beyond the bridge and give him a puggy kiss for me. We will see you both one day.
